WOULD THEY SAY THE SAME ABOUT KING DAVID?

Brigadier General Ofer Winter, a former Givati Brigade Commander, and Beloved Leader

WOULD THEY DARE SAY THE SAME ABOUT KING DAVID
David the conqueror, David the pious man, David the sweet singer, David the shepherd and David the penitent. King David established Jerusalem as Israel's capital over 3,000 years ago.

The Chief Rabbi of Tzfat, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, is not upset by the decision not to promote Brigadier General Ofer Winter to senior positions in the IDF.

"It's not surprising that he was blocked for promotion; it is not only his promotions that are stopped, but all religious officers are prevented from reaching the General Staff where decisions are made. Those who look at the Chief of Staff's decisions see they have a guideline from Day 1. I don't know what motivates him to fight the traditional soldiers," said Rabbi Eliyahu in an interview with Arutz Sheva.

Rabbi Eliyahu wonders why the Chief of Staff behaves this way: "Why fight against every hint of religion? Why weaken kashrut, the military rabbis, and the pre-military preparatory programs? Why are you fighting your best soldiers? After all, we must remember that at Training Base Din 1, almost half of the cadets are religious."

Rabbi Eliyahu also has a solution to the echoing question. "The answer to all this is the unfortunate decision to allow left-wing organizations of different shades to be the ones responsible for IDF values and to deliver officer education programs. They systematically apply all the values of the left and the 'terrible danger of the religious.' We see the result now.

"The IDF shouldn't be a body that fights half its soldiers, the traditional and the religious. I call upon the Prime Minister and all ministers to stop and say to the Chief of Staff - the IDF isn't a tool in your hands to instill leftist values,"
concludes Rabbi Eliyahu. arutzsheva

Brigadier General Ofer Winter

Eisenkot excludes Brig. Gen. Ofer Winter from round of appointments
IDF chief Gadi Eisenkot chooses once again pass over Brig. Gen. Ofer Winter, a darling of the right-wing after Operation Protective Edge; IDF officials say Eisenkot seeks to 'promote young elite unit officers to lead the IDF in the next war.’YNetNews

IDF announces new promotions, with one officer notably left out: Ofer Winter
The controversial brigadier general made waves in the 2014 Gaza war with a letter framing it as a divine conflict. timesofisrael

In 2015, former IDF Givati Brigade Commander Ofer Winter discovered that he wasn’t appointed as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Military Secretary. In response, Winter stated that he will retire from the IDF if he isn’t appointed as the head of a division. The decision not to appoint Winter as Netanyahu’s Military Secretary didn’t surprise him at all and he stated that he didn’t even ask to be considered for the position. However, the Brigadier General stated that he feels someone is trying to prevent his promotion in the IDF. Jerusalemonline.

AND NOW WE ARRIVE AT THE TRUE REASON FOR Givati Brigade Commander Ofer Winter BEING BLACKBALLED: The UNHRC!

In late June, the UN Human Rights Council report on the 2014 Gaza conflict essentially labeled Winter a war criminal.

It also heavily implied that his use of the Hannibal Protocol to thwart the kidnapping of Lt. Hadar Goldin, from the Givati Brigade’s reconnaissance company, in Rafah on August 1 led to the worst alleged Israeli war crimes and the most Palestinian civilian casualties of the war – a disputed number ranging from 29 to around 140.

The Hannibal Protocol supposedly allows commanders to take aggressive action, including endangering the life of a captured soldier, to foil the capture.

The report quoted a controversial December 2014 interview Givati Brigade commander Winter gave about the incident to Yediot Aharonot in which he said, “Those who kidnap need to know they will pay a price,” and an officer under his command said, “The fire was proportionate, and when they kidnap a soldier, all means are kosher.”

Next, the report interpreted these and other statements and the number of civilians and civilian vehicles hit as proof that the IDF attacked in a massively disproportionately manner, overly worried about blocking a soldier from being kidnapped.

THE CHIEF OF STAFF IN THE LEFTIST IDF LEADERSHIP SEEMS MORE CONCERNED WITH THE UNHRC THAN THE PROTECTION OF ITS SOLDIERS
THE LEADERSHIP AND DARING ACTIONS OF BRIG. WINTER IS REMINISCENT OF
OUR BELOVED KING DAVID

The difference between Brig.General Winter and the others of the heirarchy in the IDF is that Brig. General Winter is a 'Jew' and the others seem not to be (just the typical erev rav who work day and night to undermine the Jewish identity of Israel). Those who oppose a 'Jewish' military in the Jewish Land and worry more about our enemies than the lives of the Jewish soldiers and the citizens of Israel and want to conduct wars going against the halachot of war can, chas v'chalilah, bring disasster upon the military and the citizens. This is not an unimportant matter but can be one of life & death, G-D forbid. Maybe this is what Chazal means when they tell us there will be no one to rely on, even the once military might of the IDF, but only on our Father in Heaven. Would suggest that all real Jews start repenting to bring H's mercy on His people in Eretz Yisroel and worldwide.

Just finished reading (from this post) about Dovid HaMelech written by Rabbi Spiro, I think, from Aish. Was disappointed because why was it necessary for the author, an Orthodox Jew writing for an orthodox group (Aish HaTorah) to bring forth that there are nations proclaiming they descend from Dovid. Means nothing to us and we know nothing of this being true. Why do orthodox Jews nowadays desire to have this connection, rather than clinging to the Torah where it warns us 'we are a nation that dwells alone'. This is what brought assimilation, to such a degree, where we have reached bottom, just as our prophets forewarned will be at the end of days.
