אָז הִכּוּ כֻּלָּם הָאֶגְרוֹף עַל חָזֶה / אֵיךְ יָדֵינוּ שָׁפְכוּ אֶת הַדָּם הַזֶּה? / וְהַנַּעַר כְּבָר לֹא יָכוֹל לַעֲנוֹת: / כִּי שְׁכַחְתֶּם אֶת הָאָרֶץ הַטּוֹבָה הַזֹּאת. || מאיר אטינגר

כִּנְפוֹל לִפְנֵי בְּנֵי עַוְלָה.

נָפַל דָּבָר בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל. נֶעֶשְׂתָה הַנְּבָלָה.

אָז לַדּוֹר הַבָּא יְסֻפַּר

אֵיךְ שָׁפְכוּ דָּם הַנַּעַר וְטִיְּחוּ בֶּעָפָר

 

לַדּוֹר הַבָּא יְסֻפַּר: אֵיךְ נִרְצַח נָעַר גִּבּוֹר וְאַמִּיץ.

בִּידֵי מִמְסַד מִתְנַכֵּר, שָׁפָל וְעָרִיץ.

וְיָבוֹא חֶשְׁבּוֹן עִם תַּלְיָן, שׁוֹפֵט, מַסִּית וְדַם-מֵתִיר.

עַל דַּם הַנַּעַר שֶׁנִּכְתַּב מֵרֹאשׁ עַל הַקִּיר.

 

אָז יְסֻפַּר אֵיךְ נִרְצַח נָעַר אוֹהֵב הָאָרֶץ לִשְׁמָהּ

לוֹחֵם מִלְחַמְתָּהּ, לְשֵׁם קְדֻשַּׁת רִגְבֵי אַדְמָתָהּ.

וְחָרֵד לִכְבוֹדָם שֶׁלֹּא יְחֻלְּלוּ וְיִמָּסְרוּ לְזָרִים

בְּלַהַט  קִנְאָה הַשָּׁמוּר לְאַהֲבַת נְעוּרִים

 

אָז יָשִׁירוּ שִׁיר לַמִּרְדָּף עַל הָרַב שֶׁגִּנָּה וְהַהוּא שֶׁנָּזַף

וְשׁוֹטֵר שֶׁתָּקַף וְקַלְגַּס שֶׁהָרַס, וְנָעַר קָטַן שֶׁאֵת גַּבּוֹ זָקַף

וְהִמְשִׁיךְ בְּעֹז, לְהַחֲזִיק הַמָּעוֹז כְּשֶׁנִּרְדָּף וְנִרְדָּף

וְנִרְדָּף וְנִרְדָּף, עַד שֶׁנִּקְטַף, וְאֶל אַדְמָתָהּ נֶאְסָף.

 

כְּשֶׁמֵּאָחוֹר שְׁטוּף שִׂנְאָה מוּסָת וּמוּדָח אֶת הֲרֶכֶב נָגַח

וְדָמוֹ הַטָּהֹר עַל אֶרֶץ קְדוֹשָׁה נִגָּר וְנִשְׁפָּךְ

וְנָפַל הַדָּבָר, וְקָם וְהָיָהאָח אֶת הַנַּעַר רָצַח!

שֶׁשָּׁכַב בַּשָּׂדֶה, שָׂם מֻשְׁלָךְ וְנִשְׁכַּח וְנִשְׁכָּח

 

אָז הִכּוּ כֻּלָּם הָאֶגְרוֹף עַל חָזֶה

אֵיךְ יָדֵינוּ שָׁפְכוּ אֶת הַדָּם הַזֶּה?

וְהַנַּעַר כְּבָר לֹא יָכוֹל לַעֲנוֹת:

כִּי שְׁכַחְתֶּם אֶת הָאָרֶץ הַטּוֹבָה הַזֹּאת



As a fall before the sons of iniquity.


A thing fell on Israel. The scoundrel became.


Then the next generation will be told


How the boy's blood was shed and plastered with dirt


 


The next generation will be told: how a brave and brave boy was murdered.


In the hands of an alienating, degrading and tyrannical establishment.
