HaShem has been roasting us all the 9 days, and especially this week. We are being baked like a loaf of bread. This is to remind us of the terrible events surrounding the fall of our Batei Mikdash and the suffering of the Jews living at each of those times. What we are feeling is not even 1/1000 of what they went through. The innocent ones were feeling beyond devastation at the end of life in their HOUSE and being dragged away by the invading forces.
Can you imagine at least a little what they went through?
My heart aches about the loss they felt, the magnificent life they had with HaShem in their midst.
In order to empathize to a greater degree, I read the magnificent Meir Uri Gottesman’s two novels bringing the lives and days of their experience so vividly to my eyes and heart. They are, The Morning Star, and The Harp. Meir Uri has the fantastic ability to describe in great detail these events, intricacies and emotions.
So, if you live in Eretz Yisrael you are very fortunate.
Let’s hope to HaShem that the coming Days of Mashiach arrive in our lifetime, soon, very soon. There is ‘nothing’ but HaShem!
