IN HONOR OF YERUSHALAYIM
In honor of Yom Yerushalayim, the City of David archive displays a selection of nostalgic photos taken by various organizations in Jerusalem over the last 150 years and accumulated in the Library of Congress Library. YWN
The photographs, most of which were taken between 1898 and 1946, were compiled into an album showing familiar areas of Jerusalem from a less familiar perspective.
In one of the pictures that document the Kosel, it is interesting to see a joint tefilla of men alongside women. A few of the Yemenite immigrants who lived in the village of Shiloach descend to draw water from the nearby Gihon spring:
