Rebbetzin Tziporah – Day 20, yesod of teferet

Day 20, yesod of teferet

NOTE: 30 DAYS BEFORE A HOLIDAY, YOU ARE URGED TO STUDY THE HOLIDAY’S LAWS. IT IS 30 DAYS TILL SHAVUOS.

When you think of how Hashem’s gifts (both material and intellectual) let you develop into the person you can be – one who is really “whole”, you will want to take care of them. This means using them in genuinely pure ways. The more you have, the greater your responsibility in this regard. The temptations are greater, and of course, if you succeed in dealing with the temptations, so is your reward. Yosef Ha’Tzadik is an example of what dealing with temptation brings out in you.

In order to learn how to treasure the feeling of shlaimus, and wholeness, you may find that if you can take on one even one mitzvah (even one that is easy) and do it with as much perfection as you can you’ll find that your goal of shlaimus is within your reach. This allows you additionally to keep your heart open to the One who commanded you to do this mitzvah, so that you do it with love of Him and awe of Him. By doing this you create a foundation upon which all of the rest of the mitzvos that you do can stand. (And remember, everyone has different capacities, so be careful not to choose a goal in keeping “your” mitzvah that is beyond your reach). Don’t sabotage yourself. If you do this, Hashem will help you keep the mitzvah that you chose. You can do the same thing with Middos. Try to commit to using one of your Middos as perfectly as you can. To do this, be sure to study the relevant laws in regard to “your” mitzvah.

Take a few moments to review the 13 principles of emunah, and try to deepen your spiritual wholeness by asking (and ultimately receiving!) help from Hashem.

WITH OTHER PEOPLE

When you study or teach be completely honest with yourself as to whether you really know and understand so that the Torah that you share will be true. The torah that you share, is the “fruit” of your efforts to improve yourself and to be more shalem.
