Anarchist Gangs Attack Rabbinical Courts in Israel

Hundreds Of Protesters Block Entrances To (Attack) Israeli Rabbinical Courts Over Proposed Child Support Bill

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Some 200 left-wing demonstrators protested outside the Tel Aviv Rabbinical Court Tuesday in the wake of a new bill which proposes to broaden the authority of the rabbinical courts regarding child support.

More than 200 women protested outside the Haifa rabbinical court and other rabbinical courts also saw protests. [and other Rabbinical Courts in Israeli cities]

The protesters prevented Dayanim from entering the Tel Aviv court as well as preventing plaintiffs and defendants from reaching the hearings.

Chief Rabbi David Lau, who serves as head of the Higher Rabbinical Court, attacked the demonstrators for their “unprecedented and irresponsible behavior.” He added that “A small number of people are preventing Dayanim from reaching the court and preventing the public from conducting hearings schedulled for today. This is unlawful and undemocratic anarchy. The Dayanim of the courts will not be deterred and will continue to do their service for the citizens of Israel. I call on the law enforcement authorities to deal with these acts severely.

The director of the rabbinical courts, Eli Ben-Dahan, also issued a statement against the protesters who “violently disturbed the hearings at the court and tried to uproot the doors of the building and cause damage to it.”

Ben-Dahan said that “the rabbinical courts system has no association or connection with the judicial reforms. The claims about the attempts to transfer child support to the rabbinical courts are false and mistaken.

“The rabbinical courts discuss and rule on child support daily from the founding of the state until now. The courts rule in accordance with Halacha which gives preference to the woman, since halachically a man is obliged to provide for his family, whereas the secular courts take into account both member’s income.

Jerusalem Affairs minister Meir Porush said that “the left-wing protest is revealed to be attacking everything which has a trace of Judaism irrespective of the judicial reforms. I call on the left and on their leaders to stop the incitement before its too late.

There is an obvious revolution going on in EY and we pray that this will most likely lead to the coming of MBY. We sure need him ASAP! This is no different than in the time of the Chanukah story where the Hellenist joined our enemies but then we had the Maccabees, this time it will be Moshiach tzdkeinu!
