I read earlier today (among pages and pages of researching Torah writings) that HaShem told His prophet to mark Am Yisrael, one group with black and one with blood. The very religious were marked, even though they observed every iota! Then He proceeded to eliminate them all.
Suggesting: The mark is the jab in the arm!
Why?
Both the sinners and the religious were marked. But why the frumest of frum?
Because they did not protest enough against the degradation.
