Tel Aviv Mayor: “If Words End, Actions Begin, We Won’t Stop At Protests”
“I want to warn you – as much as you become more extreme, you’re bound to spur responses against extremism – which endangers the unity we’ve all built with great effort,” Huldai said. “This is the opportunity to reach broad agreements and if words end – the actions will begin. We won’t stop at [protests in town] squares. We won’t be indifferent, we won’t respond with resignation.”
Likud MK Boaz Bismuth stated in response: “I never would have believed that such statements would be made by an incumbent mayor in the State of Israel. Busha! Huldai, your call to move to ‘actions’ is wild and unbridled incitement no different from Adv. Hodek’s threat to open live fire, and Col. Zeev Raz’s statement to assassinate the Prime Minister and his ministers!! You’ve gone off the deep end! Where else will we go? That’s what you want – the spilling of your brothers’ blood?”
