MK files complaint against Border Policemen who surrounded her
MK Limor Son Har-Melech files police complaint against officers who formed human chain around her and, she says, assaulted her.
MK Limor Son Har-Melech (Otzma Yehudit) filed a complaint with the Department of Internal Police Investigations against four Border Police officers who formed a tight human chain around her to keep her from moving towards the site where the demolition of a Jewish-owned orchard in Samaria was taking place yesterday (Wednesday).
According to the complaint, MK Son Har-Melech accuses the officers of violating her parliamentary immunity as a member of the Knesset and of assaulting her.
She stated that she is also filing a complaint against the two officers who were in command of the demolition.
Yesterday, the MK accused one of the officers of assaulting her when she attempted to get out of the human chain, calling him "chatsuf" (from the word chutzpa) . It is unclear whether she referred to assault of a sexual nature.
The police commander at the scene ordered three other policemen to form a human chain around me. When, after several minutes, I sought to leave the ring, he told me every time: "We are protecting and guarding you,"" MK Son Har-Melech told Israel National News - Arutz Sheva.
She said that when she attempted to get out of the circle of police officers, “one of them did something that is completely forbidden,” implying that the officer may have sexually assaulted her.
"When I managed to get out of the chain, the same policeman who gave the order to create the chain followed me. He realized that he had done something which is very serious and told me: 'You hit my policeman." At this point it became clear that he was trying to cover up what he had just done." she said.
Dozens of protesters gathered at the Ben-Eliyahu orchard near Shilo to block the demolition of the orchard and olive grove, including several MKs.
Roughly 40 protesters were detained, the Honenu organization reported.
Footage from the demolition shows soldiers violently assaulting demonstrators, and physically blocking MK Limor Son Har-Melech from reaching the scene by forming the small human chain over which she filed the complaint, this to prevent her from moving even a few feet in any direction.
Newly-minted MK Tzvi Sukkot (Otzma Yehudit), who entered the Knesset when Minister Bezalel Smotrich kept his word to Otzma Yehudit and used the Norwegian Law to make his Knesset seat available, attempted to prevent the demolition of the orchard, standing in the path of a bulldozer.
