PROTEST: 100th Day of Incarceration of Haredi Arrested For Being in Shul

VIOLENT HAFGANOS: Hundreds Protest Arrest of Haredi Man
usual headline for Haredi protests
Hundreds of Chareidim took to the streets on Wednaday night, protesting the 100th day of the incarceration of a man named Binyomin Friedman. As YWN has previously reported, Friedman was arrested for being in a Shul during COVID-19 when he wasn’t allowed to be there. The court has agreed to release him, but he refuses to do so due to Shabbos.

Meanwhile, Israeli Police acted like thugs tonight and randomly kicked and beat Chareidim. There is tons of footage documenting horrific police brutality. Around 15 Charieidm were arrested.

  • CONTRAST: compare this to "After largely peaceful protests during which the demonstrators marched to the nearby Knesset and back, police began forcibly clearing people from Paris Square outside Netanyahu’s home at about 1 a.m." [well, i live in the area where they were marching, and it was noisy, horns blowing, and banging so loud i had to close all windows for a couple hours. I wouldn’t call that “peaceful”.  the police let them continue their ruckus in our area, not so close to the PM’s home at all, but in a religious area – they knew they would arouse attention.]

Meanwhile, things turned dangerous during the Haredi Hafganah, when a (police?) vehicle attempted to deliberately run over Chareidi protesters on bar Ilan Street in Yerushalayim. YWN

Caught in the action:  kicking Haredim (great soccer pose)

Caught in the action! Policewoman pushing Haredi

Caught in the action:  Driver ramming into Haredim, aiming
at them by pushing the trash receptacle into those just standing,

The site was down and I tried to capture the exact action of this driver. In the upper right of screenshot is where one can see the trash receptacle actually hitting the haredim, but is blocked by someone standing in front.
