It’s the best, most comprehensive analysis ever written on the subject, and there’s nothing else like it. Am I biased for having written it? Of course. But that doesn’t make the above claim incorrect.
So many people still refuse to even seriously consider that anything about October 7 was deliberate, planned, and coordinated. They mindlessly insist that it was an "intelligence failure", that the IDF was "too shocked" to respond for hours on end, that certain higher-ups somehow had no idea what was going on, etc.
Okay, let's play that game for a minute.
In Israel, if a parent suffers an intelligence failure and forgets his child in a car on a hot summer day, or otherwise endangers his child, he might be arrested for neglect and potentially have the child removed from his care. See here for one example.
In Israel, one who is found guilty of wrongful death through gross negligence can face 5 years in prison, or 12 years for reckless manslaughter. See here.
I can think of a few thousand possible cases in the last 15 months or so, not to mention all those maimed and slaughtered in “operational accidents”, “friendly fire incidents”, and head-scratching missions.
Those at the helm on October 7 weren’t rounded up and prosecuted, irrespective of whatever weak excuse they might offer. They suffered no consequences, and get to manage an endless, directionless "war", which has been going just MARVELOUSLY. Then they get to raise taxes even more to supposedly pay for said war (while slave soldiers continue to beg for handouts of food and warm clothing).
Go ahead, religious statist sufferer of Stockholm Syndrome, demanding that even more Jews — especially “Haredim” — throw themselves into the meat grinder or else, while insisting it’s still “not the time to ask questions”, and we should all slavishly follow orders from the same people who would be in jail for far lesser crimes than mass wrongful death if they weren’t the ruling class.
Make it make sense
Today at 4 PM Israel time will be my weekly Root and Branch Torah class. The Root and Branch Association has taken a holiday vacation and cancelled all programming for this week EXCEPT the Torah class, because the Torah does not go on holiday.
This week will be a special class that I've been waiting for a while to give, on the topic of taxation in Tanach and Chazal. I think those who join will find it most interesting and relevant.
