Los Angeles Updates Over Shabbos

How are the frum communities doing?

Why are Religious Jews still living in LA Hellywood!

LA FIRE RECAP: Nearly a dozen people are believed to be dead, at least 13 are missing — with the Los Angeles County sheriff saying he expects those numbers to rise — as devastating fires spread across Southern California amid dry and windy conditions, leaving officials scrambling to contain the historic destruction. Thousands of firefighters are battling at least five sprawling wildfires spread around the LA area.

  • The largest, the Palisades Fire, in Pacific Palisades, has scorched over 22,000 acres, destroyed 5,300 structures and is 11% contained.
  • The Eaton Fire, in Altadena, now stands at more than 14,100 acres, destroyed 7,000 homes, and is 15% contained. More than 100,000 people are under evacuation orders.
  • Los Angeles County law enforcement said Saturday that 22 individuals have been arrested on charges that include burglary and looting during the ongoing wildfire emergency. L.A. County Sheriff Robert Luna said there were 19 arrests in the Eaton \area and three in the Palisades area.

Some comments are linking Palisades with Palestine. Either way this spells ‘not good’.
But a closer inspection might find a link to Maui and Lahaina Fire devastation:
NOW: We need to see/read the fire dept report if it describes the same conditions.

THEN: Fact check: Maui fires caused by directed energy weapons?

August 17, 2023
As dramatic images of the aftermath of the Maui wildfires spread on social media, so are conspiracy theories about what caused it. Official sources blame extreme weather conditions, but others suggest it was intentional. […] https://www.dw.com/en/fact-check-no-maui-wildfires-were-not-caused-by-directed-energy-weapons/a-66556025
