Calling All Narcissists......

 SEEKING PSYCHOLOGICAL HELP...

From a Torah perspective

bs'd

If anyone can suggest a book or rabbi or other Torah-grounded individual with insight/experience into dealing with narcissists and others with similar type personality disorders (OCPD, etc.), I'd be grateful to hear from you. English or Hebrew is fine, but, again, from a Torah perspective.

Not so interested in counseling options for the disorder itself; my

understanding is little can be done to change these sorts of people.

Rather, advice for those who have to cope with them.

*Treating Narcissism: How to Dissolve Narcissistic Defenses and Foster Client Vulnerability [https://www.nicabm.com/]
Treating narcissism can be complex and multi-faceted. That’s because many of the hallmark behaviors of narcissism are the very ones that create enormous barriers to change.
It’s hard to create a therapeutic alliance in the face of defensiveness, denial, and a lack of self-awareness. And it can be uniquely challenging to execute even the gentlest intervention without activating the client’s defenses.
So how can we help clients let go of their grandiose exterior . . .
. . . and become more willing to work through the vulnerability and shame that so often lie beneath?
We put that question to 22 of the top experts in the field to bring you their best strategies for working with narcissism.
*ITS NOT A TORAH BASED TREATMENT, but just look at what they are offering (to get an idea).

Dean Maughvet, you should certainly know that Rivka Levy has published quite a few posts on dealing with narcissists.

Vox Day, at his Sigma Game Substack (https://sigmagame.substack.com/) has also discussed the trait and how to deal with it in practice.

What he says is not Torah-based but I would say it qualifies as "Torah-aligned." It is based on extensive personal interactions as well as those submitted by commenters and rooted in truth. His suggestions for specific scenarios can be sharp, and are often hilarious (to normies, not ideologues), but they are guaranteed effective in puncturing the narcissist's delusion bubble.

Study in particular how he, and others, interacts with Gammas in the comments. Gammas are extreme narcissists.
