Rabbi Weissman: PURIM SHPIEL or EMES

Haman doesn't need a mask if you're wearing a blindfold

It's Ad D'lo Yada every day of the year

Nowadays most Jews can’t tell the difference between Haman and Mordechai fully sober.

Have we learned much since then?

For 5 years I’ve been hearing from Trump cultists that he had no idea there was anything sketchy about the shots he brought at warp speed. He just listened to the wrong people. He knows better now, only he won't admit it, because he’s egotistical.

Personally, I expect a messianic figure to do a lot better than that, but I realize people are so desperate for a savior that the bar has really been lowered.

A few days ago Trump brought Albert Bourla, CEO of Pfizer, to the White House and heaped praise on him.

The place erupted in boos.

This made Trump chuckle.

What's so funny, Mr. President? What did you find amusing?

He clearly knew why his supporters were booing. But he heaped praise on Bourla anyway, and laughed when the peasants booed. How's that for a slap in the face?

How does that make you feel, Trump supporters? What’s the rationalization of the day? What level of chess is he playing? Or are you playing checkers, and losing badly? Do you like being abused? I’m curious.

And regarding this, which I shared last time (source is here):

Pfizer CEO Bourla also made headlines earlier this month when he revealed the details of his secret dinner with Trump’s new health secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the Daily Mail reported. Per the outlet, he revealed to stakeholders in early February that the meeting took place in December, a few weeks after RFK Jr was nominated for the role of health secretary in Trump's government.

Who do you think was the alpha dog at this meeting? Was RFK telling Bourla the party is over, or was he receiving marching orders?

They also took advantage of the IDF being grounded for 8+ hours, and civil defense units being disarmed, and intelligence warnings being ignored, and spotters sounding the alarm being threatened, and much more.

That’s how hordes of looters were raiding kibbutzim many hours after the border was breached, including children stealing bikes and flat screens, and handicapped old people hobbling into a war zone, with no fear of a massive IDF response coming at any moment:

And posing for pictures on a bombed out IDF tank, while looters return home through the fence in the background.

(Stills from videos available here and here.)

But let’s forget about all that and blame it on IDF slaves being given leaves. And, of course, haredim.

A brief illustration of how controlled opposition works.

1. Leader says or does a small good thing. (We’ll bring hell on the bad guys! And we won’t force you to take any shots.)

2. The followers rejoice and crown him their savior.

3. Leader does something very bad and harmful to his followers.

4. The followers shrug and rationalize that he did it to fool the bad guys and win their trust.

They never consider that they have it right in reverse.
