Secrets of the Damascus Gate Revealed
Did you know that the most beautiful of Jerusalem's gates has amazing secrets just below it?
The ornate, massive Roman Gate of Jerusalem ( "Aelia Capitolina" ) built after the Bar Kochba rebellion has been excavated. Major budgets, and years of meticulous excavations and study have finally prepared the site for the public.
I and other guides were invited for a preview tour.
As a result, I am eager to share this jewel of a site with you.
Together with the special archaeological-historic experience, we will have another unique opportunity on this day.
Aryeh King, deputy mayor of Jerusalem and founder of the Israel Land Fund, will be our host for an eye-opening tour. We will visit the redeemed Jewish properties that were taken by Arabs in 1948.
The saga of this redemption of Jerusalem is history being made today.
We will show our love and support for the heroes on the frontlines of Jerusalem.
We will meet at the municipality of Jerusalem (the piano) at 11:00.
We will take the train or walk together to meet Aryeh King.
After our tour with him, we will take the train or walk to the Damascus Gate for our tour there
