In this week's Torah class we took a deeper look at the commandment to follow the rulings of the judges, even if what they instruct you seems to be completely wrong. Naturally, this has been hijacked and distorted to normalize cultish behavior, blindly following rabbinic authorities, abuse of authority, social intimidation, forcing people to take poison shots, and so much more.
None of this is in line with the Torah, nor does the commandment they hijacked support them on any level. I spoke about this previously here, and this week's class, with even more information, is available here.
The actual meaning of the mitzvah is clear for all who care to actually study it.

In this month's Amalek and Erev Rav program, we took an extensive look at the Bring Them Home Now and other hostage/war propaganda campaigns. There's a lot going on behind all the posters and slick advertisements. It's sinister, creepy, and downright psychotic. The recording is available here.

So you want me to believe that Israel has systematically decimated Hamas over the past 10 months, they have no serious resources and manufacturing capabilities, and practically nothing gets into Gaza without Israel's approval, yet somehow this ragtag terrorist group that has to live underground has managed to recruit 3000 new soldiers and supply them with weapons and ammunition...while Israel needs to rely on foreign countries to constantly replenish weapons and ammunition.
And you also want me to believe that this is a real war, not at all staged, and the "good guys" aren't giving the "bad guys" the weapons and ammunition.
So go ahead...make it make sense.

Don't forget the disgusting bath of paraoh and chucking them in the Nile. I'm relating it to this war, taking our children. I was trying to compare the exiles, thinking that we must be gilgulim over and over and I'm tired.
