DAY 49 – IT’S NOT TOO LATE
IF YOU FAILED TO REALLY DO MUCH ABOUT SELF-CHANGE ALL SEFIRAH, THE LAST DAY IS SO POWERFUL THAT YOU CAN STILL ILLUMINATE YOUR SOUL BY THE LIGHT OF ITS STRENGTH.
The most essential thing is to realize that in no way is it right to let any other power rule over you on any level. You must let your soul rule over your body, and also not deprive your body of what it needs to the degree that it will then invade your sense of self with its justified demands, so that it rules your soul! Feed it. Give it some sleep so that it won't be able to rule over your entire consciousness.
Along the same lines, ask Hashem to help you both with your torah and mitzvos, and your financial needs, so they won't take over your whole inner world (thinking about the next deal, or how to impress your boss, instead of the next mitzvah opportunity and how to impress Hashem by the way you bring His kaavod into your little piece of reality.)
WITH PEOPLE
Try to speak to the poor person’s heart, and when you are finished try to see what you can do financially to see that he has enough money to celebrate the holiday joyously.... Try to enrich those who need it by encouraging them to daven with joy, and to let the sound of the words ‘Hashem melech’ resonate inside them and outside!
