Rebbetzen Tziporah – DAY 47, HOD OF MALCHUT

DAY 47, HOD OF MALCHUT

This means honoring, praising and thanking Hashem. The person to imitate is Dovid HaMelech, who lived every moment with gratitude even though he was never in denial of the reality of whatever he faced.

If you are, for instance, financially successful, imagine for a moment where you would be in life if Hashem hadn’t granted you the things that made it possible for you to succeed – being in the right place at the right time, and more. The same thing is true if you are married, have children, are moving forward professionally, etc. You would never be able to reach whatever you have reached without Hashem’s help. Think of how Yosef ended up being “hatzadik” only because of his tests, which, from where he is today in gan eden, were no doubt the greatest chessed in hindsight.

If things are the opposite of the above, thank Hashem for the challenges that can turn you into a different person, and for the suffering that atones for sins by pulling you out of the feelings of control and superiority that are the source of most sins.

Shabbos is the day for thankfulness, and by kavod shabbos you can reach high levels.

WITH PEOPLE

By being kind to people, especially to those who have few people in their lives to whom they can really speak, you can open their hearts to feeling gratitude to Hashem for giving them someone who cares enough to show them their blessings.
