Soldier Recites Shema Before Blowing Up Mosque, Raising IDF Spokesperson’s Ire
JERUSALEM (VINnews) — An IDF soldier who recited the Shema prayer before blowing up a mosque harboring terrorist activities caused a sharp reaction from IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari, who said that the incident “would be investigated.” The soldier said that although we are not allowed to recite Shema in the mosque (after severe criticism was levelled at another soldier who recited prayers in a Jenin mosque a month ago), we can certainly recite the prayer when blowing up a mosque used for terrorism. Instead of counting down to the explosion, the soldier said the words of Shema and then detonated the device which blew up the mosque. Hagari said that “the behavior of the soldier in the clip is unacceptable and in contravention of the IDF’s values. The IDF condemns such behavior and the matter will be investigated.”

This behavior goes against the IDF values because the IDF values are about homosexuality and Christianity, and Judaism is frowned upon. The only reason the top brass has been asking for tefilot and Tehillim from women around the world, and they accepted the shipments of tzizit is because they knew if they denied these things soldier morale would go down since most of the chayalim are dati. But, the brass don't believe in the Torah, they don't believe in HKBH, they believe in the el of IDF and this is why so many Orthodox Jews try to keep their young boys out of the IDF. We all know that the only goal of the IDF, when they're not losing a war, is to indoctrinate young people with perversion and anti-Torah values, to "wash the Jewish out of them." On the other hand, though, I wasn't so sure that saying the Shema before blowing up the mosque was the right thing to do. We're supposed to say the Shema with kavana, of Hashem's unity, one-ness, a one-ness we can never duplicate. I would have recited the verse about erasing Amalek. It seems to me that is more fitting.

I don’t know of course, but I would imagine that this soldier had BOTH IN MIND AND HEART when he said so. He might have been the one in the Moskue! And it was his payback. Being they are mostly frum soldiers says a great deal from Shamayim!

Excellent comments, Gavriela & Neshama. You are both correct. But, I see nothing wrong with just the Shma because maybe this soldier is not that well-versed in all the aspects of Torah and also H' commmands to eradicate Amaleik because Hashem is the One who these barbarians hate, so the Jews are the targets, r'l.
They are the ones who are at war with H' & His children and we, His children, are His representatives. Hashem makes it clear that His Name and His Throne cannot be complete until there is no more Amaleik.
