WHAT'S KILLING ISRAEL?

WHAT'S KILLING ISRAEL?
Hint:  It’s Not Terror

A new report, “Leading causes of death, 2000-2016,” published by the Health Information Division of the Health Ministry, found that diabetes has now become the third-highest killer in Israel (up from No. 4). JPost

Type 3 Diabetes = Alzheimer’s.
Diabetes ... Dementia  ... Alzheimer’s

Health Nutritionists and Science Says:
Mediterranean Diet Linked to Better Memory for People with Diabetes.

People with diabetes may have better brain function if they follow a Mediterranean diet rich in fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, fish and healthy fats, a US study suggests. Mediterranean diets have long been linked to better heart and brain health as well as a lower risk of developing diabetes. But research to date hasn't offered a clear picture of whether any cognitive benefits of eating this way might differ for people with and without diabetes, said lead study author Josiemer Mattei of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston. JPost: ALSO […] Israelis tend to consume relatively high amounts of sugar and not enough whole grains. Almost half of Israeli children drink sugar-sweetened beverages every day – rates that are even higher than in the US. JPost

However While They Tell You to Eat More of. . .
fruits and veggies . . .
at the very same time you are possibly ingesting toxic glyphosate sprayed on those fruits and veggies (and wheat called ‘ roundup-ready'). This toxin has been proven to cause Cancer, and other Neurological Disease. [there may be differences between the US and Israel]

Between 2008 and 2010, the amount of active chemical pesticides used in Israel per 1,000 dunams of agricultural land – 3.5 tonswas significantly higher than that of any other OECD country […]  Israeli farmers use the largest amount of active chemical pesticides per agricultural dunam out of all OECD countries, a Central Bureau of Statistics survey has revealed. [*“Survey of Pesticides in Agriculture 2008- 2010]

In the report, “*Survey of Pesticides in Agriculture 2008-2010,” questionnaires were sent to 90 companies for the purpose of identifying sales and imports of chemical agricultural pesticides approved by the Agricultural Ministry for the years 2008 through 2010 […] Designed to help identify trends and processes of marketing pesticides, the survey looks at both the data of Israel and other comparable countries. Out of all Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development member countries, Israeli farmers on average use 3.5 tons of pesticides per 1,000 cultivated dunams (100 hectares), while the next highest number belongs to Japan, at 1.55 tons per 1,000 dunams, according to CBS.[adjusted present tense to past tense]

[It is advised to read the JPost article and the mag.gov for more details]

The State of Israel is a signatory to the Montreal Protocol, which aims to protect the ozone layer, while limiting the use of harmful substances,” the ministry said. “In recent years, there has been a decline in the use of pesticides, in all types of fruits and vegetables tested. This can be attributed to the activity of increased enforcement and monitoring performed by the ministry.” JPost

However, during those years and probably prior to that, Israelis were consuming exorbitant amounts of pesticide residues, in addition to possible glyphosate on making Wheat “roundup-ready” [to market]. It is no wonder that cancer has skyrocketed, along with diabetes among the public.

As a result of the 2008-2010 Report, there has been a drastic reduction of pesticide use. New in this year’s (2019) report: A new sampling unit, increased volume of samplings, increased enforcement and reassessment of pesticides. Report: Pesticide residues in fruit and vegetables 13/02/2019 **mag.gov.il.  [which year did they begin to cut back between 2010 and 2018?]

The results: 89% of all samples were found to be OK • 36% of the samples were found not to contain any pesticide residues at all • The findings indicate that there has been a drastic reduction in exposure to toxic pesticides • Significant drop in percentage of irregularities in fruit and veggies. [but lettuce and herbs are still a problem]

CAUTION:  Big-Pharma “insists” that Round-Up, containing glyphosate, is not harmful to people, it is sprayed on the FOODS to make them resistant to contamination, and at the same time kills everything around it. We are still ingesting this very high toxin as residue. It is difficult to convince farmers who want to stop the ‘insect invaders’ because it harms the crops and their appearance. People don’t want to buy ‘ugly’ fruit and veggies. This is a big problem. In Israel, the Kosher producers grow our veggies and herbs in water and sand which bypasses the invasion of insects into the food, but one must be cautious about ‘flying insects’ that may stubbornly find a way into  packaging. So inspecting and cleaning with or without a heksher is vital.

R'l, rhia is happening most everywhere. In the U.S., it's the same, maybe worse.
