So, the question is an open one, and we encourage one and all to chime in.
But before you do, please ask yourself the following—is there any other nation on the planet whose building code stipulates a bomb shelter on all new construction (and has for decades)?
And this, too: why would a nation do that unless it was literally planning to be bombed?
Does it make any sense?
From a public relations/Hasbara standpoint, it could be understood in a uniquely warped and twisted Israeli way: i.e., look how security-oriented we have to be—with all those bad, bad people around us who just want to kill us. Look! Look at the lengths we have to go just to save our pitiful lives. Look how non-confrontational we are, how peace loving and DEFENSIVE we are. We’d never think of starting a war, us… Not like THEM.

Why would a nation go to such lengths and waste so much money developing such a comprehensive defensive military posture? One that includes Iron Domes and David’s Slings and extraordinary satellite and earth-based surveillance technologies INSTEAD OF JUST BLOWING AWAY THE FILTH THAT THREATENED IT?
Where’s the self-respect?
Where’s the basic, human self-interest?
What the allure of suicide?
In short—what kind of nation mandates bomb shelters in every building in its land…?
A Nation that’s already made peace with its arse getting blasted to smithereens.

The only real Jew amongst those in the picture above, I think, was Menachem Begin - the rest are
surely Erev Rav (not sure about Shamir). Menachem Begin really had no choices because he was supposed to be the token 'right' winger who really wanted to do the right thing but the infrastructure of the State is so left, socialist, bolshevik, etc., he had no chance.
