THE NATURAL REMEDIES
Mullein tincture:
• Relieves cough, bronchitis, pneumonia, whooping cough, and sore throat.
• Mullein is an expectorant herb, meaning it loosens bronchial secretions and makes elimination of mucus easier.

Ribwort plantain syrup:
• Relieves cough and bronchitis.
• Ribwort plantain contains mucilaginous substances that have a soothing effect on irritated mucous membranes. In inflammations of the upper respiratory tract, the mucilaginous substances in ribwort coat and protect the mucous membranes and relieve coughing irritation.
• You can make your own syrup at home using ribwort leaves (there are several recipes on the internet) – or you can buy it on Amazon (not an affiliate link).
Onion syrup:
• Relieves cough and bronchitis.
• Onions contain sulfur compounds that help fight mucus and promote the expulsion of mucus. Onions have both antiviral and antibacterial properties.
• Chop up one large onion and mix it with honey. Let it steep over low flame for a couple of hours. Then strain. Take 1 Tbsp. three times a day. Alternatively, the onion can also be soaked in a honey-filled jar for about a day without any cooking/heating.
Onion juice:
• Relieves cough and helps fight cold/flu symptoms.
• Chop up an onion, wrap it in a cloth and squeeze (to get some of the juice out). Keep the cloth (with the onion) close to your nose during sleep.
Honey:
• Relieves cough.
• Due to its viscous nature, honey coats the throat, acting as a cough suppressant and causing a soothing effect. Honey has also various antiviral and antibacterial properties.
• Mix 2 tsp. of honey with warm water or herbal tea. Drink this mixture once or twice a day.
Ginger juice:
• A lot of medicinal properties – helps with cold/flu symptoms, relieves cough, nausea, etc.
• The anti-inflammatory compounds in ginger, particularly gingerol, can relax membranes in the airways, which help reduce coughing. Ginger has antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties.
• You can find ginger shot recipes on my blog. You can also make ginger tea by steeping fresh ginger slices in hot water. Add honey to further sooth cough.
Turmeric juice:
• Relieves cough, bronchitis, asthma, cold/flu symptoms, etc.
• Turmeric contains a compound called curcumin, which is used to treat respiratory conditions. Curcumin has antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties.
• To make turmeric shots, mix the juice from 1 small lemon, 1 orange, ¼ cup fresh turmeric and 1/8 tsp. fresh black pepper (black pepper dramatically increases the absorption of turmeric).
Thyme tea:
• Relieves cough, bronchitis, and sore throat.
• Thyme leaves contain flavonoids that relax throat muscles involved in coughing.
• Add 2 tsp. of dried thyme to a cup of hot water. Steep for 10 minutes, then strain. Drink once a day.
Slippery elm tea:
• Relieves cough and sore throat.
• Slippery elm contains a high level of mucilage, which helps to sooth cough.
• Add 1 tsp. of the dried herb to a cup of hot water. Steep for 10 minutes, then strain. Drink once a day. It’s important to note that slippery elm can interfere with the absorption of certain medications.
Holy basil (tulsi) tea:
• Relieves dry cough, bronchitis, pneumonia, and asthma.
• Holy basil is an expectorant herb – it removes mucous secretions from the lungs and upper respiratory tract and improves cough. Holy basil has also antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties.
• Add 5-7 holy basil leaves into a cup of water. Steep for 10 minutes, then strain. Drink once a day.
Black seed oil:
• Relieves cough, bronchitis, asthma, and allergies.
• Black seed oil is extracted from the seeds of Nigella sativa. It contains both anti-spasmodic and broncho-dilating properties that help with breathing disorders. Black seed oil has also strong antioxidant properties, which reduce inflammation in the body.
• Mix 5-10 drops of black seed oil with 1 tsp. of honey.
Humidifier with bronchial drops (eucalyptus, peppermint, sage, rosemary, and/or thyme essence):
• Cough may improve with steam.
Hydrotherapy (hot and cold water treatment):
• Hydrotherapy is a form of treatment where you repeatedly immerse your entire body in hot water followed by immersion in ice water, alternating between the two. The contrast helps improve blood flow, lymph stimulation, muscle relaxation, elimination of toxins, etc.
• Start with hot water for 3 minutes (using a shower, spray the entire body, focusing on chest). Then switch to cold water for 30 seconds. Go back to hot water for another 3 minutes. Then cold for 30 seconds. One more hot for 3 minutes. Finish with cold for 30 seconds.
Plan ahead and have warm bed read and rest for at least 30 minutes. Drink as much as a quart of water beforehand.
Many of you also suggested liposomal vitamin C to boost the immune system. Liposomal vitamin C is more effective than traditional vitamin C. Comparatively, it has a higher ingestion rate with over 90% of the cells being washed in vitamin C.

Apple, dates(or Silan if I’m in a hurry), lemon and ginger powder hot or cold. Delicious and addictive. Just had one before reading your article, as melave Malka. Mainly for the flavor, but it gives me a lot Of energy and I need less painkillers... Every morning, except motzae Shabat I drink it t night.
