Blessings in Disguise

Rabbi Michael Green (esp. the end)

Were you thrown out of shul because of “public health” tyranny?
Was your child shamefully banned from school because of \/ax mandates?
Were you wrongfully fired or threatened with your job over mandates?
Were you marginalized, excluded, made to feel like an untouchable pariah in your community?

If you experienced any or all of the above abuses, you were indeed a victim of grave injustice, but here’s another perspective:

Imagine you had lived in some German city in the mid-1930s and had been cruelly banned from school, fired from your job, prevented from working or entering stores, and this left you no choice but to move away and seek residence in a rural, secluded place in the Bavarian Alps where you could grow your own food, teach your own kids, unmolested and avoiding persecution? And consequently, you had avoided the deportations, mass killings, and survived the Holocaust?

Wouldn’t you have been grateful for the fact that you had been marginalized and excluded? In retrospect at least?

Perhaps our attitude toward all these grave injustices ought to change.

Instead of focusing on victimhood, let’s see it as an act of Divine kindness:
Instead of being upset that some corrupt rabbi banned your child from school in 2019 or 2022, perhaps you ought to rejoice that G-d is sending you a sign to GET OUT OF DODGE CITY.

Instead of fretting over the grave injustice of getting fired over your refusal to submit to a lethal injection, maybe you should be grateful that your Father in Heaven is sending you a warning message to leave this depraved society – with of all of its pending dangers – and instead learn how to live off the land?

Just like German Jews who lost their jobs in the mid-1930s were given ominous signs to leave, maybe G-d is showing you the same RIGHT NOW?

That’s cause for gratitude and joy. G-d is trying to SAVE and you and your family.

Instead of feeling hurt and betrayed by all the hurt and betrayal, you can feel gratefully empowered to the take the right steps to protect yourself and your loved ones from unthinkably worse persecution or destruction that looms menacingly down the road.

If your community unjustly bans children from Talmud Torah or adults from communal prayer, then it is a sinful and depraved community.

If your house is on fire, either put it out or GET OUT.

If your state and/or city enforces unjust mandates and violates the civil liberties of you or anyone else in your place, then please heed the sign and HIGHTAIL IT OUT of that city or state. Or at least go to a geographic location where you can live life in freedom and independence from medical tyranny.
Maybe all these curses are actually blessings in disguise.

By taking positive and constructive action, we transform trauma into truth, wrongdoing into Redemption. shul?
