עלינו להתעורר מאשליית הבחירות. המצב לא ישתנה אלא אם כן העם שבשטח יתעורר ויגרור את ראשי המערכת לעמוד על עקרונותיו של העם היהודי

50% מהציבור חושבים שלא משנה מה יהיו תוצאות הבחירות, המדיניות בנושאי שלום הביטחון תהיה זהה פחות או יותר לכל ממשלה שתקום. ככה עולה מסקר שפרסם המכון הישראלי לדמוקרטיה.

תקופת הבחירות סוחפת את כולם למערבולת של וויכוחים, להט לשנות ותחושת חשיבות, כל אחד מה מתמודדים בטוח שהוא יציל את העולם, ואנחנו טובעים בסחף של ספינים, הצגות ותוכן בלתי פוסק שנועד לשכנע אותנו שהקול שלנו הוא מה זה חשוב. אבל הוא לא.

לתוצאות הבחירות השפעה מזערית על גורלנו, עשירית ואולי מאית מתדמית החשיבות שכל כך רוצים שנייחס לה. ההבדלים בין המפלגות הגדולות הוא כל כך מינורי, ולא נוגע לשאלות הקיום שלנו, והמפלגות הקטנות גם ככה נאלצות לוותר על רוב רובם של עקרונותיהם כדי להשפיע ולו במקצת ‘מבפנים'.

יום אחרי הבחירות, אולי שבועיים אחרי החיים יחזרו למסלולם, רק העיתונאים יישארו כדי להתאמץ לייצר סקנדלים ומהומות כדי לשעשע את ההמון, ויתחילו את המירוץ מי יצליח להביא את הבחירות הבאות.

הפוליטיקאים יבטיחו הבטחות על מיטוט חמאס, לכיבוש הרצועה, יתחרו ביניהם למי יש רעיון יותר יצירתי מה 'צריך' לעשות - אבל אם אנחנו רוצים שהם גם יבטיחו לקיים - את זה לא קובעים בקלפי, את זה קובעים בשטח. בהפגנות, בהסברה ובמאבק.
