Rosh Yeshiva: “Nothing Will Help Them! We Won’t Agree To Drafting Bnei Yeshivos”
On the background of the Supreme Court’s decision to force the government to explain why Chareidim shouldn’t be drafted to the IDF and the resulting political debate on the matter, HaGaon HaRav Meir Tzvi Bergman spoke sharply against such legislation.
Speaking at an atzeres at the Kollel Chazon Ish last week, the Rosh Yeshivah, a member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah, said: “I want to tell you, I want to announce here from this position – this is now נוגע למעשה. What I want to say is that we won’t agree to anything regarding the recruitment of bnei yeshivos – as the Chazon Ish and HaRav Shach explained.”

Hundreds of Peleg Yerushalayim Protesters
ISRAEL (VINnews) Hundreds of Charedi members of Peleg Yerushalayim blocked a major highway near Bnei Brak for several hours on Sunday, protesting the movement to end the draft exemption for Charedim. Footage showed the protesters, mostly bochurim, blocking Route 4 near the Givat Shmuel interchange. Some held signs reading, “We’ll go to jail over the army” and “We will die and not enlist.” Additionally, protestors shut down the light rail in Petach Tikvah.

Last month the government told the High Court that it needed more time to legislate a new draft law because of the ongoing war. It said it would outline what the law would include by March 24, and asked to have until the end of June to pass the law. The court gave the state until March 24 to explain why it was not drafting Charedim as per the current law. Yasher koach to that wise & wonderful Rav of the Chazon Ish yeshivah for standing strong against tyranny in our holy Eretz Yisrael. How disgusting that this should a problem with a so-called Jewish government. It is the TORAH that is protecting the soldiers in the field and the Jewish people in our Homeland. The erev rav leadership in the IDF are running scared seeing that many soldiers and Jewish citizens are turning toward Torah and that's why they are pushing hard now
for the draft. The Erev Rav's whole fight is against Hashem and His loyal children. They will lose! Our people are showing H' and crying out to H' to turn things completely around to victory for Am Yisrael & Torat Yisrael. Netzach Yisrael lo Y'shaker. Moshiach tzdkeinu is at the door!
