 The latest round in the intensifying culture war in Israel is swirling around one of Israel's iconic musicians and songwriters, Ariel Zilber.

A former hero of the "progressive", secular culture in Israel, he committed an unforgivable sin; he "lost his faith" and left the fold.

In 2005 when anti-religious,  "progressive" Israel was enjoying the pain ("we showed those settlers who is boss" - Yair Lapid) of thousands of idealistic  Jewish families as they were dragged from their homes, Zilber shed tears for his crushed brothers and sisters and his beloved land. He made a point to stand with the Jews facing their personal and national catastrophe. Bringing his music and personality with him he accompanied the downtrodden Jews with song and love until the bitter end.

This was not expected of an Israeli secular icon. Former compatriots and admirers thought he went berserk.
as they boycotted and despised him.
He sacrificed popularity and money for something enduring, his honor and soul.

Ariel discovered his Jewish roots and left the scornful secular, anti-Torah scene and cultural  "elites" for his people, land, and Jewish self. He was finished.

The current, escalating culture war for the soul of the Jewish state has once again brought Ariel Silber's name into the fray.

This time the traitorous Zilber has gone too far. He dared to express his support for the Left's current public enemy number one  ,  Amiram ben Uliel.

Amiram is the poster boy for all that the anti-Torah Left in Israel despises.
First of all, he looks too unashamedly  Jewish with his large kippah and flowing payot(sidelocks).
To make matters worse he chose to live with his wife and baby in the heartland of our nation, in  Samaria.
(the  Left scorns this part of our promised land as "occupied territories" as they strive to  hand it to the anti-semitic  "Palestinian" authority"
If this sin was not enough, Amiram and his little family enduring hardships and dangers chose to live on a lone hilltop in Samaria as part of the" hilltop" movement dedicated to redeeming and guarding the land of Israel.
That was definitely strike three for Amiram.

When, eight years  ago an arson attack on an Aran home  took place in the Arab village of Duma (tribal  violence, including widespread arson, is  common in this blood feud-ridden village before and after that which  Amiram was arrested ) and the Israeli authorities  rounded up the  "usual suspects''

They could provide zero evidence or testimony against Amiram so they tortured him severely and continuously until he said what they demanded of him. He has spent the last eight years in solitary confinement twenty-three hours a  day in a tiny windowless cell. treated far worse than any other prisoner in all of  Israel.
Arab murderers of entire Jewish families like the Fogel family, enjoy the generous comforts and privileges of Israeli prisons including five meals a day, higher education, entertainment, and in one case at least the authorities provided Jewish female wardens to Arab terrorists for sexual pleasure.

The judge was happy.
The Left is very happy.

Now they can explain that the constant  terror in Israel is not really  an anti-Semitic  Arab phenomenon but,  " we have our own as well."
They can  insist  that the  Arabs are still worthy peace partners, worthy of being given our land  for peace because terror is  a two-way street and we are as guilty as them
They explain that It's a phenomenon that cuts across national and religious lines.

Ariel Zilber, like many other good  sane, Jews, insists the emperor has no clothes and will not buy the lies
He had to protest, at least the unprecedented conditions in which Amiram is kept day after day, year after year after year.
Until when?.
That's why the entire mainstream media, reading from the same script, spew their hate for the "murderer" Ben Uliel and the crackpot Zilber.

May Hashem help Uliel and his family.
May Hashem bring the Jewish people back to their senses.
Amen.
