COULD IT BE ANY CLEARER, THEY ARE AFRAID OF LOSING THEIR HEFKER LIFESTYLE!  ……..  THEY DON”T REALISE THAT THINGS WOULD BE BETTER FOR THEM, AS NO ONE WANT TO FORCE THEM TO DO OR NOT DO ANYTHING

THEY DIDN’T WANT WHAT GEDALIAH WAS TRYING TO DO:  Jews that had remained after the Babylonian exile began to rebuild physical and spiritual life in the land of Israel. […]  hopes for revival in Israel were slashed when Gedaliah was assassinated by Ishmael

Protest leaders fear biblical law will overturn democracy

Activists against the judicial reform explain why they believe the current coalition poses such a danger to the state.

Several of the leaders of the protest against the judicial reform claimed that their protest stems from their fear of the current coalition and that the 'biblical laws' would prevail over the democratic laws in an interview with CBS' 60 Minutes. Ron Scherf, one of the protest leaders, claimed to interviewer Lesley Stahl: "The people all served under Netanyahu's past governments without hesitation but fear this one: a coalition of settler extremists and the ultra-Orthodox."

"The head of national security has had multiple convictions, including supporting terrorism against Arabs. The finance minister is a self-described fascist homophobe. As for Netanyahu – he's in the midst of three separate trials on charges of corruption."

"The protestors say that laws his government has introduced – over 200 of them – would not only weaken the courts, but control the press and diminish individual rights, and that this is how democracies like Hungary became autocratic.” Fellow activist Omri Ronen explained that "One of their big worries is that without a strong Supreme Court, the ultra-Orthodox bloc in the government could turn Israel into a theocracy, where biblical laws prevail."

"Our Supreme Court is our last line of defense. And this is our last safeguard. We need them empowered. We need them independent. That's what we fight for.” https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/377113

Justice Min.: Judiciary is against most of the Israeli public

Justice Min. Levin to CBS: 'Judiciary is controlled by the elite, I want to balance its power.’

When asked if his goal is that the government should be stronger than the court, Levin explained, "That is not my proposal. In Israel, the Supreme Court is above the government, the Knesset, and the will of the people. I want to balance the situation."

Levin also responded to claims that he is part of an "extremist" coalition, saying, "I am proud to be part of this government. The vast majority of MKs who support this reform support democratic and liberal values.” https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/377108

Something is surely mentally wrong with the thinking of these radicals. They are willing to be slaves to the dictatorship of the court which overrides even the executive and legislative branches and even of the military.
This is all because they don't want to be servants of Hashem and their war is against HIM; thus the hatred towards the G-D fearing Jews. The Torah is the most real freedom loving Guide to Life because it is from the Creator Who knows best!
No one is forcing them to lead a religious life nor to adhere to the Laws of the Torah in their personal lives The Jewish State should be just that living by the Torah where it is evidenced that the Land was given by G-D to the children of Avraham, Yitchak & Yaakov to live according to Torah.
As you write above, these misfits who are fighting tooth and nail against the Reform of the Judicial system in Israel just want hefkarut as their way of life, like a bunch of pagans.

They are acting as if it’s the END DAYS, the end of the world, and they are correct! Wish the rest of the Jews thought that also!

Trouble is their attitude of accepting that it is the end of days is completely the opposite of what the G-D fearing Jews know. They know to be at their best and cling to our Creator, whereas these rebels feel they want to go as far as they can go morally and in every way, because they
don't believe there's anything left for them otherwise.
