The shooting was carried out from a passing vehicle. Security forces have begun a search for the terrorists responsible for the shooting.
The medical forces performed resuscitation operations on the woman, but she could not be revived and was declared dead at the scene. The male victim was evacuated to Soroka Medical Center in Be'er Sheva.
A six-year-old girl, the victim's daughter, was in the car with the two and witnessed the entire attack. The child miraculously escaped unharmed physically.
MDA EMT Moshe Barshshet said, "The man and woman were lying unconscious by the car with gunshot wounds. Along with an IDF medical team we provided medical treatment including stopping the bleeding, the male was evacuated to Soroka Hospital in an IDF MICU, and the female is being treated on scene, unconscious and in critical condition.”
MDA Paramedics Netanel Yamin and Elyashiv Amitai, and MDA Senior EMT Benaya Weinberger, said: "We were very quickly at the scene and joined an IDF medical team that had started treating the victims. We saw a male and female of around 40 years old with gunshot injuries, they were taken out of the car, with the woman unconscious, not breathing and with no pulse with severe gunshot injuries, we provided life-saving treatment and resuscitation, but unfortunately following resuscitation attempts we had to pronounce her deceased. The male was semi-conscious with gunshot wounds, we immediately moved him to the MICU and along with an IDF team we evacuated him in serious condition to Soroka Hospital."
The IDF stated that "a shooting attack was carried out from a passing vehicle on Route 60, adjacent to the city of Hebron, toward civilians who were driving in the area. Two civilians were injured, and the injured woman was later declared dead. IDF soldiers and Magen David Adom paramedics are providing medical treatment to another injured civilian. IDF soldiers are pursuing suspects and blockades are set up in the area."
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been updated on the attack. The prime minister is currently visiting a military base in Tel Hashomer.

Indeed, the ZS does need to know that it is not the "be-all and end-all" for the Jewish People; they are saying now that they are the security and the economy of the State, and we won't be able to survive if they take these things away. And so it happens that it is depicted as constantly humiliated (supposedly there are hundreds of attacks prevented for every one that gets through. Difficult at best to assess the truthfulness of that statement.).
