ליהודים היתה אורה ושמח וששון ויקר
For the Jews there was light and gladness, joy and honor
Its amazing. I just now had time to listen to Rabbi Kessin’s latest shiur, "Why We Have Purim and Shushan Purim" HERE.
And what’s so amazing is that as he explains the elements of law and justice, most everything he is explaining can be applied to what is happening in Israel right now. [At least this is what I heard loud and clear as he was speaking. However, I don’t think my explanation will do ‘justice’ to his words. It is best to listen to the Rabbi again with this in mind.]
And that is the Judicial Reform.
If I am correct in my assessment, it is a fight for a more JUST relationship between the Supreme Court and the Knesset which creates the laws for the Nation of Israel. [In this way, Hashem seems to be guiding Am Yisrael away from the distorted leftist legal relativism and convenience to allow their behavior and dominance over society.]
In the Purim dialogue, Hashem brought about a situation in which the complete Nation of Jews were threatened with death because of a set of laws. The Jews were shocked because they thought that the law of Shushan would protect them. But, no, it was the law now that was issued to kill ALL Jews.
As a result of their ‘awakening’ to the difference between law and justice, they finally understood why Hashem demanded that they accept the Oral Laws of the Torah, because they are laws of justice. ליהודים היתה אורה ושמח וששון ויקר
The Oral Law is justice, laws of behavior, how a Jew is to live and behave.
Nations have laws of “convenience” for their lifestyle, and these laws can become distorted and evil; such as what is happening in American society these days.
However, the Oral Law of the Torah is the correct application of how Jews and people should behave.
The Oral Law brings about justice and holiness.
And since G-d is Holy and wants His Nation to be Holy, we have the Torah’s Oral Laws.
What is happening in Israel now, I believe, is this struggle. Since the “opposition” was disgraced by their failure to win the election, because the people of Israel voted for a more righteous and JUST society. [ed. IOW they decided they did not want society to be decimated by their laissez-faire european culture.]
In otherwords, the Supreme Court had dictatorial power over the elected Knesset and its issuance of laws (hopefully that will reflect more justice than arbitrariness i.e., “reasonableness standard” (ed. which was always more “reasonably favorable to Arabs”)
[If one is discerning, it is possible to view the behavior and words of many of the so-called leaders in their specialties, that uncover who is really working for the Israeli deep state, i.e. America, and not for a true Jewish Nation.]
MAYBE THIS WILL HELP UNDERSTAND THE JUDICIAL REFORM:
The first reform he introduced was a changing to the composition of the committee which selects judges. "The judges will not elect themselves. Three from each branch [of government] will do this. Instead of the lawyers' representatives - there will be two public representatives appointed by the Justice Minister.
The third reform is the elimination of the "reasonableness standard" by which the Supreme Court can strike down any law or government action it deems "unreasonable."
The final reform is that ministers will be allowed to appoint their own legal advisors instead of being saddled with legal advisors appointed by the Justice Ministry.
Minister Levin called these reforms "balanced" and stated that the current system, which according to him gives unelected officials such as judges and legal advisors too much power, "is not democracy.”

Laissez-faire is a policy of minimum governmental interference in the economic affairs of individuals and society. The doctrine of laissez-faire is usually associated with the economists known as Physiocrats, who flourished in France from about 1756 to 1778. The term laissez-faire means, in French, “allow to do.”
