Sadly, I must publicly protest another grave breach -- which I hope is just an oversight and not deliberate היל"ת -- in the Chabad world.
This time, it's a publication that showcases the good work of shluchim but under a bizarrely disturbing title: "IllumiNations."
While this might look like a harmless play on words in text, the design has a globe illustrated inside the "o," which divides the word and appears to highlight "IllumiNati."
While most people are unaware of secret societies like the so-called Illuminati, Jewish publications ought to distance themselves from anything that remotely reeks of influence from these odious cults. Especially a globe, which hints of globalism, another perverse and noxious ideology that just so happens to align with "Illuminati" dogma.
Furthermore, what does "IllumiNations" even mean? Are they suggesting that the role of the shliach is to illuminate nations or political states? Or to illuminate the nations of the world? That's odd, because the publication features stories about shluchim and their work with local Jews.
Whatever their intended message is, the "IllumiNatiOns" title must be changed immediately. Chabad has NOTHING to do with Illuminati or globalists, Heaven forfend.
PS:
Parenthetically, this otherwise fine publication is co-sponsored by a dubious tabloid called "COL Live" that endorses lethal injections, peddles medical tyranny, and engages in sensationalist cancel-culture journalism that involves numerous serious violations of Torah law. Perhaps the problem here is due to allowing unscrupulous for-profit companies to call the shots in the first place. (Pun intended.)
