Plus, the left could find themselves with even fewer mandates because their centrist followers will blame them for the impasse. What's going on is that both Deri and Ben G'vir need a change to the basic law due to past transgression. Ben G'vir's charges should never have been made, and it happened a long time ago. Deri's plea agreement is more recent. They want to pass the law before the new government is sworn in. The opposition will drag it out but we have the votes. For the opposition, it's a press moment.
