Israel National News: TLV Mayor sparks uproar: Faith in G-d is anti-democratic
Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai set off an uproar when he claimed that religious people cannot accept democratic principles.

Israel National News, Apr 7, 2025

Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai set off an uproar online following remarks he made about what he sees as a contradiction between religion and democracy.

Talking with Nadav Perry on his podcast, Huldai was asked, "You're saying something harsh that I don't agree with. You're saying that anyone who believes in a supreme G-d can not accept democracy in the same breath?"

Without missing a beat, Huldai replied, "No. Since if you believe in Him, you say he's supreme. It can't be that the Supreme Court rules against what's written and what you believe. Therefore, religion, by its very nature, is anti-democratic.

"In religion, we go to a rabbi for everything. It is decided and written, and they tell you if something follows Halacha (Jewish law) or not. If the Halacha is law  ............

This Huldai guy is not too smart. Anyone who does not believe in G-D Almighty is obviously not smart! If they would think into it a little longer, they will understand why. He also doesn't seem to realize that 'democracy' is a Greek concept, not a Jewish one. It might work for the non-Jewish world because otherwise they might be plain old 'dictatorships' and that is what
the State of Israel seems to be now with a 'surpreme' court which has is only part of the judiciary of the Land and its only duty is to judge whatever case is placed before it! The executive, the leader of the country is the one who is in total charge with the approval of the legislative branch of government in some cases where certain laws have to be enacted, etc.
When the courts have the audacity to take over a government, they are
rebelling and they then become pure dictators, nothng less. These are
the ways of communists and fascists! Everyone should know that!
All these dictators live for is to control and to usurp other peoples' rights.
They definitely do not have the people or the country's welfare in mind and
heart. Anyone who cannot understand all this and see that for themselves
should check their IQ's,
yanky
