Tues. Nov. 29 Bet Shean / Jezreel valley
I am very happy to announce a wonderful day of touring our amazing, beloved land.
Today we will visit the beautiful Bet Shean / Jezreel valley.
Riding through the usually dry Judean Desert and the Jordan Valley we will enjoy the once-a-year beautiful biblical landscapes after the blessed first rains have fallen.
We will visit the biblical Bet Shean. In this ancient quaint town, one of the most impressive remains of ancient Rome. The "Pompeii of the North" (Scytopolis) was the model Roman city in the East of the Empire. The grandeur and splendor will take your breath away.
Today, Bet Shean is a quiet town of Jewish immigrants from the four corners of the world. We will have the honor of meeting with one of the heroic educators in Beit Shean and hearing his personal story, "from the depths of jungles to the depths of Torah."We will be guided through the town by a "Garin Torani" volunteer and be exposed to the social/spiritual dynamics below the surface of this beautiful kaleidoscope of Jewish immigrants.
Next, we will visit "Bet Alpha" in the Jezreel valley, where in 1922, a young kibbutz member accidentally uncovered what is the most intact and gorgeous mosaic synagogue floor from Talmudic times. We will enjoy a marvelous presentation and a museum about synagogues in that period in Eretz Yisroel. We will ride up to biblical Mount Gilboa where King Saul took his life rather than be captured in the battle by the Philistines.
The views from the mountain are unique and breathtaking.
Depart from the Inbal hotel at 9:00 Return approx. 6:00
There will be an option to have lunch in Beit Shean or you may bring your own.

We will visit Hebron as you have never done so before.
- The Maarat Machpelah - tour and pray at the tombs of our patriarchs and matriarchs.
- The unique museum of Hevron with the special tour and multi-media presentation.
- The "Hill of Avraham" with its archeological discoveries from the earliest period of our history in Eretz Yisroel.
_ The largest discovered assemblage of mikvaot anywhere and other remains from the large Jewish community in the Talmudic period.
- The tombs of Ruth, the great-grandmother of David, and the tomb of his father Yishai.
- We will have the unique privilege to be guided in the expanding pioneer community of Jewish Hevron today.
Lately, through great effort and sacrifice, additional properties have been redeemed and are now home to Jewish families in the old Jewish quarter. Powerful forces in Hevron, in Israel, and beyond are applying great pressure to dislodge us from our holy city but they are firm!
We will be amongst the first to visit these properties and meet the brave pioneers who are writing our history with their presence in our beloved but beleaguered holy city.
On our return to Yerushalayim, we will visit the tomb of mother Rachel as we complete our visit to our patriarchs and matriarchs on this special day.
We depart from the Inbal Hotel at 9:00 and return approx. 5:00
