Netanyahu’s Shenanigans – UPDATE Ben–Gvir

Israelis had better rise up and voice their concerns loud and clear that this is not what they voted for. And Bibi had better get with the people and stop his shenanagans. remember, “a leopard does not change his spots.”

Netanyahu Using Divide & Conquer on Steroids Against Smotrich, Ben Gvir

Presumed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continues to deepen his rift with Religious Zionism Chairman Bezalel Smotrich, and has reportedly set next Wednesday as the target date for introducing his new government, with MKs from Shas, UTJ, and Otzma Yehudit, and without Religious Zionism, if need be. It’s an empty threat on its face because Smotrich’s party has 7 MKs, and a coalition without them would rely only on 57 MKs, 4 below a majority.

In their quiet struggle with the man behind the curtain, all Smotrich and Ben Gvir have to do to win is stick together and insist that neither one of them is going in without the other. Netanyahu will be livid, Netanyahu will huff and puff and threaten to blow their house down (see how I used two metaphors from children’s stories in one paragraph?), but in the end, Netanyahu will surrender. He doesn’t have a choice if he wants to be the prime minister before the court pronounces its verdict in the three criminal cases against him.

.And this is the latest:

Earlier on Friday, Otzma Yehudit chairman MK Itamar Ben Gvir spoke with Netanyahu, begging him to agree to Smotrich's coalition demands.

Ben Gvir said Smotrich's demand for the Defense Ministry is a legitimate demand, and will allow the full implementation of a right-wing government's policies, including the founding of new towns in Judea and Samaria, a cessation of the eviction of Jews from new settlements, the approval of thousands of housing units, and an end to illegal Arab construction in Area C of Judea and Samaria.

Ben Gvir added that the technical bloc between himself and Smotrich is still in existence, but called on all sides to "sit in a closed room with all of the parties and to find a quick solution to form a full and proper right-wing government, as soon as possible."https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/363055
