Rabbi Weissman – Lessons from Lech Lecha

This week's Torah class: Amazing lessons from Lech Lecha  (below)

Here is a recording of a recent event by Macabim: Stand for Hashem Event on Covid and the Elections.  I only listened to Dr. Pierre Kory's presentation, and it was terrific (nothing against the other presenters, who I'm sure were great as well).

Here are a few short thoughts on Israel's latest election theatre.  I shared the first two before election day, but you can file them away for the next round.

1. This vapid campaign slogan from Smotrich is a punchline waiting to happen.  "You get what you vote for."

2. Don't waste your vote.  Vote for someone who literally tried to kill you over someone else who literally tried to kill you, because this one isn't quite as bad.

3. If you engage in machinations instead of voting with your conscience, don't complain when you get leaders who do the same.

4. If Moshiach ran for election, people wouldn't vote for him, because they would figure he wouldn't get enough votes to get in, and they wouldn't want to waste their vote.
