One tragedy before Shabbat, one on Shabbat.
Could the connection be that we all have to improve our Shabbat observance, with more Yidden being brought into Shabbos Kodesh?
We need to increase the awareness that "keeping" and "doing" Shabbos are paramount to our survival as a nation.
