In light of the violent incidents on the light rail, and following numerous requests to the Public Inquiries Committee, the Knesset Ombudsman Committee met with the directors of CityPass, which operates the Jerusalem light rail. During the course of the discussion, many questions arose regarding the treatment by the inspectors and police officers. Among other things, the passengers who paid for the trip, and because they did not validate the ticket when entering the train, their bank account was fined directly in the amount of 360 NIS.

The committee chairman, MK Yisrael Eichler said at the start of the discussion: “The fact that the citizen must validate the ticket apart from the payment leads to a trap that creates an atmosphere saturated with tension on the train. The traveler who paid should be fined?”

Mike Adams has hit another one out of the ballpark with his exposé of the failed flu vaccine. His article is titled “Vaccine industry in panic as scientific study solves the riddle of why flu shots don’t work.”

An Oct. 23, 2017 study published in PLoS discovered the reason vaccines can’t work is because the method of culturing influenza viruses inactivates them! You have to read Mike’s article to get the full story. Mike says that the paper’s “author openly admits that flu vaccines don’t work and urges the vaccine industry to urgently change its production practices.” He says “Our study describes a mechanism for the low influenza vaccine effectiveness and reaffirms the urgency for replacing the egg-based production of influenza vaccines. He “admits that flu vaccine propaganda is largely false, describing how the goal of flu shot immunization has still not been achieved.”

I’ve been writing about the ineffectiveness of the flu vaccine program for over a decade but none of the studies I cite that show a 4-6% effectiveness rate have stopped the marketing of these ineffective vaccines. Here is an excerpt from Death by Modern Medicine:

The internationally recognized Cochrane Collaboration performs meta-analysis on various health conditions and publishes their findings for the public. The organization accepts no money from the pharmaceutical industry. Cassels and Wright reported on a recent Cochrane review of 25 randomized trials studying the effectiveness of influenza vaccination. Cochrane concluded that the evidence does not support universal immunization of healthy adults. In fact, the flu shot only reduces the incidence of clinical influenza an average of 6%.

Often when flu shots are promoted, people are giving the direct or indirect

message that it could save their lives. However, the Cochrane report could not find enough deaths in the data to make any conclusions as to whether it really was a lifesaver.

PR people of Big Pharma—has people thinking that they must have that flu shot

I’m interested to see whether the medical establishment is going to accept this latest scientific report and stop using these useless vaccines. After all, allopathetic medicine claims to be scientifically based, so they should listen to scientific reports, shouldn’t they? If they don’t, it will be one more nail in the coffin of the strictly-for-profit pharmaceutical industry.

When I did an internet search, I don't see any major outcry by the fake-news media about vaccines but I so see that the prestigious journal Science has reported on the PLoS study in an article titles “Why Flu Vaccines Often Fail.” Another flu vaccine study came up on my internet search. It showed a correlation between flu vaccine in early pregnancy and miscarriage. As for kids getting the flu shot. Someone would have to really prove to me that the mercury that is STILL in multi-dose flu vaccine vials is absolutely safe. Since mercury is one of the most toxic substances on the planet, I don’t think any amount is safe.

If The Saudi Arabia Situation Doesn't Worry You, You're Not Paying Attention

While turbulent during the best of times, gigantic waves of change are now sweeping across the Middle East. The magnitude is such that the impact on the global price of oil, as well as world markets, is likely to be enormous.

A dramatic geo-political realignment by Saudi Arabia is in full swing this month. It’s upending many decades of established strategic relationships among the world's superpowers and, in particular, is throwing the Middle East into turmoil.

So much is currently in flux, especially in Saudi Arabia, that nearly anything can happen next. Which is precisely why this volatile situation should command our focused attention at this time.

The main elements currently in play are these:

• A sudden and intense purging of powerful Saudi insiders (arrests, deaths, 
• and asset seizures)
• Huge changes in domestic policy and strategy
• A shift away from the US in all respects (politically, financially and militarily) [I don’t agree with this, based on Rav Brody’s assessments]
• Deepening ties to China
• A surprising turn towards Russia (economically and militarily)
• Increasing cooperation and alignment with Israel (the enemy of my enemy is my friend?)

7.2 magnitude struck an area on the Iraq-Iran border after eight at night Baghdad time. The ripple affects of it were felt all the way to central Israel. Photos from the town of Darbandikhan show houses destroyed and dozens of injured pulled from rubble.

In Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Regional Government of northern Iraq many people reported buildings shaking and lights falling from fixtures. Video showed stores trashed as good fell from shelves. “It was like being in a boat in a storm,” one man wrote from the 15th floor of a building. People poured into the streets throughout the city. More than fifty people have been taken to hospital in Erbil with light injuries according to initial reports

“Toras Hashem temima … The Torah of Hashem is perfect, restoring the soul. The testimony of Hashem is trustworthy, making the simple one wise. The orders of Hashem are upright, gladdening the heart. The command of Hashem is clear, enlightening the eyes….” (Tehillim 19)

Gadolim throughout history, from Avraham Avinu through Dovid Hamelech and down to the present, have above all elevated the glory of Torah in this world. We, the Children of Israel, give honor to the Torah in the eyes of the nations. We strive to make it clear that these are Hashem’s words, and that all our success in life, personal and national, is due to our adherence to the Torah’s holy words. As the Novi says,“Hashem desired, for the sake of [Israel’s] righteousness, that the Torah be made great and glorious.” (Yeshiah 42:21)

In this week’s Parsha, the Bnai Chais say to Avraham Avinu, “Nasi Elokim ata … you are a Prince of G-d in our midst.” (Beraishis 23:6). Avraham Avinu had a unique reputation in the world, and his children have continued to live on the exalted madreiga to which the Torah lifts those who adhere to it.

Rabbi Meshulam Halevi Jungreis zt”l was the beloved Rav of North Woodmere, N. Y. and Chaplain of the Nassau County Police Department. At the time of the rabbi’s petira, the Police Commissioner of Nassau County said publicly, “Rabbi Jungreis was my bridge to G-d.” Think about this. This was an amazing declaration for a non-Jewish public official to make, and it represented a tremendous Kiddush Hashem.

“Bridge to G-d.” This is what we are supposed to be in the eyes of the nations.

I have quoted in the past the words of Rabbi Shlomo Lorincz zt”l regarding his remarkable interview in the early 1950s with former U. S. President Harry S. Truman, who said, “Three thousand years ago, you Jews saved humanity, wild mankind, via your Torah, so too I believe and hope that, even nowadays, you, the Jewish Nation, will be successful again, to enlighten and to heal the beasts of cruelty in our midst and save the world from total destruction.”

Rabbi Lorincz repeated President Truman’s words from the podium of the Knesset, and added: “The wise among the nations know that the job of the Jewish Nation is to be a light unto the nations, and through the Torah that is in our hands to save the world from destruction and to cause goodness to come to the world. If we don’t actualize this mission, our friends will turn their backs on us and they will conduct themselves solely focused on their own interests, and then they will favor the hundred million Arabs and the billion Moslems over the handful of Jews.” (Introduction to Miluai Shlomo, courtesy of Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Weinfeld Shlita”h)

Years ago, when we met Rebbetzin Esther Jungreis o”h, it was the first time we had ever ventured inside a synagogue. The Rebbetzin told her audience: “You are a Jew. You stood at Mount Sinai. We are descended from Kings and Prophets. We taught the world there is a G-d. We taught the world morality, not to steal and not to kill ….”

This is the legacy of Avraham Avinu. Our mission in this world is to make the Torah beloved and honored in the eyes of the world. This was the accomplishment of our earliest parents, Avraham, Yitzchak and Yaakov, Sarah, Rivka, Rochel and Leah and this is our goal in this world.

It is not only to non-Jews that we must direct our thoughts. We have to make sure that our own brethren see from our behavior the beauty and perfection of the Torah. To the greatest extent possible, our honesty has to be perfect; our chessed has to be perfect; our kindness has to be perfect, so that the positive effect upon our brethren will be maximized and, as a result, our entire Nation will return in teshuva to our Father, our King.

I heard an amazing story from my choshuve chavrusa, Rabbi Moshe Grossman Shlita”h, about an observant Jew who was walking down the street and averted his eyes from something inappropriate. Another Jew was watching him and began to think: “I wonder why he is not looking at that. Maybe there is an important reason for him to avoid looking at that. He wouldn’t do it just for nothing. I wonder why he did that.” This non-observant Jew started to think about his entire lifestyle. He started investigating the Torah and eventually did teshuva and became completely observant, all because this Yid, whom he did not know, turned his eyes away from something inappropriate. The first Yid had no idea that anyone was watching him, but he saved this man and all his generations because he was acting with yiras Shomayim!

Without getting involved in details, I want to point out that, recently, in the Holy City of Yerushalayim, there have been acrimonious demonstrations involving hundreds of yeshiva students. All of us have a responsibility, in all our actions, to ask ourselves whether we are following in the footsteps of the Avos.

The eyes of the Jewish as well as the non-Jewish world are upon us. We have to ask: Am I making the Torah beloved in the eyes of the world? Am I showing by my actions that “its ways are ways of pleasantness and all its pathways are peace?” (Mishlei 3:17) Am I acting in such a way that those who want to perfect their lives will be encouraged to follow the Torah? Am I acting in the manner of “a prince of G-d?”

If we act in the manner of our Avos and Imahos, Moshiach ben Dovid will soon arrive, and all our goals will have been achieved!

הערב ומחר נציין 27 שנים להירצחו של מנהיג ישראל, הרב מאיר כהנא הי"ד. את הסיסמא "כהנא צדק", כנראה שאין יהודי שלא מכיר, ובצדק. כולם יודעים שכהנא צדק, כשהזהיר שוב ושוב מפני איוולת ה'דו קיום' המדומה.

כולם יודעים שכהנא צדק כשקרא שכל מנהיג ימני, שאינו פועל מתוך התורה, יביא לבוחריו מפח נפש ואבדון. וכולם יודעים שכהנא צדק כשהודיע שהבחירה איננה בין כהנא לליכוד, אלא בין כהנא לערפאת, כשאיש לא חשב אז, שגם בנימין נתניהו כעבור עשור יצטלם עם רב המרצחים, וימסור לו יותר שטחים ממה שנתנו רבין ופרס ביחד.

27 שנים הם פרק זמן מכובד, דור שלם שלא הכיר את הרב כהנא, ולא זכה לשמוע את דבריו הצלולים, דור שלם של צעירים כמוני, שנולדו אחרי הרצח הנורא, שנולדו לדור ללא מנהיג. אמנם, שמענו סיפורים, פגשנו מאות ואלפי אנשים שבעיניים בורקות סיפרו לנו שהיה היה איש שהיה אכפת לו מעם ישראל. אבל לנו, לבני הדור שאחרי הרב כהנא, קשה לפעמים ללמוד מדרכיו, אנחנו אפילו לא יודעים לשאול מה הוא היה אומר, ואיך הוא היה נוהג.

אנחנו לא נולדנו לכהנא, אנחנו נולדנו לערפאת, נולדנו לדור של אוטובוסים מתפוצצים או של סכינים ננעצים. לדור של עקירת יישובים ושופלים שועטים. כשאנחנו נולדנו ערפאת היה כבר כאן, ואיתו הפיגועים, הנסיגות והחרפה, אנחנו התרגלנו לחילול ה', ולאוזלת היד.

כאילו, אפשר לחשוב לפעמים, שנולדנו לדור ללא תקווה. הרבה פעמים אנשים מצפים שיבוא 'עוד הרב כהנא', מנהיג שיסחוף את ההמונים, שיעורר את הלב של כולם. יכול להיות שזה יקרה יום אחד, כל יהודי מאמין בביאת המשיח, שיבוא מנהיג שיושיע את ישראל, אבל הרב כהנא לימד אותנו שאסור לסמוך על הנס. האחריות היא עלינו לעשות ככל יכולתנו במצב הנתון, ולא לחכות שיבוא מישהו אחר ויציל את המצב.

כדי לענות על השאלה, איך ממשיכים את הדרך של הרב כהנא, צריך לשאול איך הרב כהנא צדק. כיצד זה שהוא ידע את העתיד נכון יותר מכל מומחי הביטחון. לאחרונה, התפרסם סרט בכלי תקשורת שבו מתראיינים כל ראשי השב"כ בעבר, ומספרים כיצד פרצה האינתיפאדה הראשונה בהפתעה גמורה מבחינתם. איך זה שהרב כהנא, ללא מידע מודיעיני, ידע לחזות את העתיד טוב יותר מאשר ראשי הצבא וגופי הביטחון שהיה להם ניסיון ועבר בטחוני עשיר?

אפשר לחשוב שהרב כהנא היה נביא, שקיבל רוח הקודש, או גילוי אלוקי. אבל כנראה שזה לא היה העניין, הסוד של הרב כהנא לא היה רוח הקודש. הסוד שלו לעניות דעתי הייתה האמונה, הוא האמין באמת בה', והאמין בתורה ללא פקפוק. היה ברור לו שאם בתורה כתוב "לשיכים בעיניכם ולצנינים בצידכם", הרי שזה מה שיקרה, לא תחזיות וחישובים ריאליים, כמו שמוכרים בימין החילוני, הניעו את הרב כהנא, אלא אמונה פשוטה, אמונה בתורה.

לצד האמונה, הרב כהנא הדגיש את חשיבות מידת הביטחון. שוב ושוב הוא חוזר בכתביו על הנקודה הזו, שמה שנדרש מעם ישראל יותר מכל עכשיו היא מידת הביטחון, הישענות על ה', והשלכת כל החשבונות הפוליטיים או הבינלאומיים.

אפשר לטעות במידת הביטחון, שפירושה שה' יחלץ אותנו מכל צרה שלא תבוא, מסתבר שלא זהו הפירוש הנכון. הרב כהנא בעצמו נרצח, מסתבר שכך היו מחשבותיו של הקב"ה – "כי גבהו דרכי מדרככם, ומחשבותי ממחשבותיכם".

ראיה לכך נלמד מהמדרש בפרשת השבוע שעברה, כאשר ראה הרן אחיו של אברהם שאברהם הושלך לתוך כבשן האש וניצל, האמין שה' יציל גם אותו, וכאשר נמרוד הרשע שאל אותו בצד של מי הוא, ענה שהוא בצד של אברם כאשר הוא בטוח שיינצל כמו שניצל אברהם. הרן נשרף, ומכאן למדנו הלכה שמי שמוסר נפשו על מנת שה' יציל אותו לא יינצל. אם כן מהי מידת הביטחון?

התשובה היא שמידת הביטחון, היא שעל האדם להאמין בה', שמסירות נפשו וההשתדלות שהוא פועל יועילו ויישאו פרי. בכך היה שונה הרב כהנא, מכל שאר מנהיגי הימין. אלו גם אם ידעו את האמת, לא האמינו שבכוחם לשנות, לא האמינו בכך שננצח.

הרב כהנא לא היה מומחה בביטחון יותר מראשי השב"כ, הוא גם לא הבין במדיניות חוץ יותר מאשר דיפלומטים מנוסים, ובכל זאת, כולם הרי יודעים שכהנא צדק. כהנא צדק, כי הוא האמין בתורה, והיה בטוח שהתורה תנצח בסוף.

למה זה חשוב לנו לדעת? כי זה המפתח להמשיך את הדרך של הרב כהנא. לא צריך לצפות למנהיג בסדר גודל דומה שיקום. יותר מזה אסור לנו לחכות. הזרעים שהרב כהנא זרע, ממשיכים לפעול ולהפיץ, בגלל שהוא האמין וחי בביטחון שהוא אכן ינצח. הוא אמנם אולי יפגע במערכה, אבל התורה שאותה הוא הנחיל – תורה של אמונה וביטחון – בטוח תנצח לבסוף.

אדם כזה הוא חי באמת, הוא אדם שתורתו לא מפסיקה גם שנים רבות אחרי שהוא לא איתנו כאן, כי התורה שעליה הוא נאבק גם תשאר כאן לנצח. הרבה פעמים, גם במאבקים של היום, מכרסם הייאוש. לפעמים הוא נעשה הסטוריון ויודע להזכיר לפרטי פרטים כמה פעמים כבר ניסו באותה הדרך, וכמה פעמים נכשלו.

We were not born to Kahane, we were born to Arafat, we were born to a generation of exploding buses or knives. To the generation of uprooting settlements and raging woes. When we were born Arafat was already here, and with him the attacks, the withdrawals and the disgrace, we became accustomed to the desecration of God and to the helplessness.

As if, you might think sometimes, we were born without hope. Many times people expect that another Rabbi Kahane will come, a leader who will sweep the masses, which will raise everyone's heart. It may be that one day, every Jew believes in the coming of the Messiah, that a leader will come to save Israel, but Rabbi Kahane taught us that we must not rely on miracles. It is our responsibility to do our utmost in the given situation, and not to wait for someone else to come and save the situation.

To answer the question of how to continue Rav Kahane's path, one must ask how Rabbi Kahane was right. How is it that he knew the future better than all the security experts. Recently, a film was published in the media in which all the heads of the Shin Bet security service were interviewed in the past, and they tell how the first intifada erupted in complete surprise: How is it that Rabbi Kahane, without intelligence information, could predict the future better than the army and security forces?

One might think that Rabbi Kahane was a prophet, who received the Holy Spirit, or a Divine revelation. But apparently that was not the point, Rabbi Kahane's secret was not the Holy Spirit. His secret in my humble opinion was belief, he truly believed in God, and believed in the Torah without hesitation. It was clear to him that if in the Torah it is written, "To turn your eyes and thorns on your side," this is what will happen, not real predictions and calculations, as are known on the secular right, motivated Rabbi Kahane, but simple faith, faith in Torah.

Along with his belief, Rabbi Kahane emphasized the importance of security. Again and again he repeats in his writings this point that what is required of the people of Israel most of all now is the degree of security, reliance on God, and the casting of all political or international accounts.

It is possible to mistake the degree of security, which means that Gd will rescue us from any trouble, which is not the correct interpretation. Rabbi Kahane himself was murdered, it turns out that this was God's thoughts - "for my ways were lifted from your ways, and my thoughts were from your thoughts."

Evidence of this is learned from the midrash in the parsha of the past week, when Abraham's brother Haran saw that Avraham had been thrown into the fire furnace and was saved. He believed that God would save him, and when Nimrod the wicked asked him on whose side he was, he answered that he was on Avram's side . Haran was burned, and from here we learned that a person who gives his life so that God will save him will not be saved. If so, what is the degree of security?

The answer is that the degree of security is that one must believe in God, whose dedication and effort that he works will benefit and bear fruit. In this, Rabbi Kahane was different from all the other right-wing leaders. Even if they knew the truth, they did not believe that they could change, did not believe that we would win.

Rabbi Kahane was no more expert in security than the heads of the Shin Bet security service, he did not understand foreign policy any more than experienced diplomats, and yet everyone knows that Kahane was right: Kahane was right because he believed in the Torah and was sure that the Torah would win in the end.

Why is it important for us to know? That this is the key to continuing the path of Rav Kahane. One should not expect a leader of the same magnitude as rehabilitation. More than that we must not wait. The seeds that Rabbi Kahana sowed continue to operate and spread, because he believed and lived with the certainty that he would indeed win. It may indeed harm the battle, but the Torah it imparts - a doctrine of faith and security - will surely prevail.

Such a person is truly alive, he is a man whose Torah does not stop even many years after he is not with us here, because the Torah on which he is struggling will also remain here forever. Many times, even in the struggles of today, gnaws despair. Sometimes he becomes a historian and can mention in great detail how many times they have tried the same way, and how many times have failed.

Rabbi Kahane can learn how he would start over anew, simply because he was sure he would win, like Avraham Avinu who knew he might burn there in Ur of the Chaldeans, but it was 100 percent clear that even if he was burned, his life's work would not go away, Keep burning.

And if we all remember these two rules: The first to believe in the Torah, in the solutions offered by the Torah, to believe that the path that the Torah outlines is best for the people of Israel. And the second is to trust God, that ultimately the light will prevail, that there will be an end to persecution and that they will only empower us and that we will win. So instead of the one Kahane they murdered, they will receive dozens and hundreds of Kahane. And we all see how Kahane was right in that he was so sure he would win.

I am honored to have been asked to say a few words in memory of the one Jew who best represented the concept of "ahavat yisroel" - our great Rabbi Meir Kahane, zecher tzadik vakadosh levracha. Hashem yikom damo.

I had the privilege of knowing this towering giant, both in the US and in Israel. I would say that he is the main source for my identity as a Jew today as well as choosing to live in Israel. He opened my eyes to some of the most important concepts of Judaism, of being a Jew and a person. I know that these are very big words, but they are true.

I have had many teachers and read many words about Judaism but - he was the man.

When I was growing up in Brooklyn back in the 60's I attended yeshivot. We learned how to dress and how not to dress. We learned about Shabbos and eating kosher. We learned lots of Torah but I never heard about the centrality of Am Yisroel and Eretz Yisroel in the life and essence of a Jew.

I never heard how Israel was a miraculous gift from Hashem to his people - that it was the fruition of prophecy.I never learned that it was something to get excited about and be proud of. All I knew was that it was osur to attend the treif Israel solidarity parade - there were girls there. Did they have such parades in Poland? No. then how dare Jews deviate from tradition? The idea was to keep the golus in our hearts and thank God that we are living in the most comfortable of galus - America. What more could a Jew ever dream of?

Soviet Jewry? the concept of an Am Yisroel was barely even an academic, theoretical term where I studied. Demonstrations for our millions of brothers in the vast Soviet prison? That wasn't the Jewish way. An authentic Jewish way was never suggested. There were girls there, and besides, it will only anger the goyim.

That was the eleventh commandment - never upset the goyim and threaten our place in the golden golus.

We learned about Avraham Avinu and how he was ready to fight the world power of his day to rescue his nephew. We learned how Moshe Rabbenu killed the Egyptian who dared attack a Jew.

We learned how Yakov challenged the bullies at the well as did Moshe. They all rocked the boat! Were they real Jews or just troublemakers? We never discussed it.

As the "complexion" of Jewish neighborhoods "changed", those who could flee did so quickly. Those who could not were left to the humiliations and attacks by" angry young urban youth." Their lives of the Jews left behind were hell. It was no longer the 'goldene golus' for them. Who helped them?

My grandfather alav hashalom, was almost killed one Friday night when some "urban youths" were angry that he had no money to give them. Shabbat was not a day of rest for the urban youth.

In the hospital, as I looked upon his very swelled head where they repeatedly kicked him, I mused, "Zeidy, you fled the goyim in Poland. And now this, in the 'goldene golus’"?

The Jewish establishment, religious and secular, did not want to rock the boat - as usual. They were all very frum about observing the important eleventh commandment.

Had it not been for the teaching, and more, the example of Rav Kahane, I too would have been a strict eleventh commandment hasid.

He taught me that something was very not kosher. I partook in a JDL patrol in Williamsburg. We were sent to confront. if necessary, Puerto Rican toughs who threatened to take over a Jewish home. That night they learned that there are other kinds of Jews; Jews who were there to challenge them - a strange phenomenon. They seemed very confused. I realized that "Im ein lee, mee lee?”  If I am not for myself who will be for me? Who taught Jews that it is the worst chilul Hashem when a goy humiliates a Jew? Where else could I have learned this most basic concept? Not in my yeshiva for sure.

Years later, when I lived in Israel, I took a cab and the driver had a Russian accent. I asked him if he heard of Rav Kahane in Russia?

"Of course!" he said
"And what did you hear?”

"We were told that he was public enemy number one of the Soviet Union, and therefore we all knew that he was a tzadik!”

"Then I sent him a letter.”

"I explained that I want to leave Russia but I need some money. Rabbi Kahane sent me money!”

This I heard from a chance encounter with a taxi driver. I assume that his story is not unique. Oy, has there ever been a ohev Yisroel like our great Rabbi?

Rabbi Kahane explained that he was motivated to do battle for Soviet Jews because we had to do tshuva for the criminal negligence of American Jewry during the Holocaust. The establishment then, would not rock the boat. They would not break the law and be arrested for their brothers in Europe. Ten years later that same establishment were ready to do just that for the Civil rights movement. Some were even moser nefesh and were killed for the non-Jewish cause. But not for European Jewry ten years earlier.

When he moved to Israel he was greeted with beatings by the secret police, imprisoned and demonized by the establishment. They warned him that “This is not America. None of your rabble-rousing." He did not listen. He never listened.  Establishments don't like boat rockers. That is the twelfth commandment. "Thou shalt not rock the boat."

He warned us. He pleaded with us. He was beaten for us. He went to jail for us, to remove the seething, growing cancer from within before it destroys our Jewish country and us all. He was treated as a lunatic at best by the establishment, secular and "religious". They clung to their comfortable illusions.

Many years, and rivers of blood later, we know who was sane and who is still not. Who is still clinging to dangerous illusions and who was always right. Clear Torah sources that no one challenged, common sense, the very survival instinct. Nothing could move the clinging establishment. They discovered that they could not buy the trouble making Rabbi or scare him, so they banned him and ultimately destroyed him as they did his holy son and daughter in law may Hashem avenge their blood.

They destroyed his body but his spirit is with us and the seed grows.

Yirmiyahu haNavi shared a very similar fate as Rav Kahane. Both were propelled by a power that they could not subdue. They had to tell Am Yisroel the truth - no matter the cost. They both paid the price and I am certain that they would both do it again.

I constantly poll people I meet throughout the country. I am a tour guide so I get around and meet all kinds of Israelis.

I sidle up to a person and whisper, "Kahane Tzodek" nachon? ( Wasn't Kahana right?) Usually, they give a knowing, secret look and in a hushed tone say, betach! Tamid! Of course, always! He has planted for so many, the seed of Jewish pride, common sense and the knowledge that they were not crazy when they did not accept that the king has clothes. With time, the king is looking more and more naked to more and more people - thanks to the one who stood alone and would not be silenced.

It is a great honor for me to be here tonight and be counted with the few who knew then that there was indeed a prophet amongst us.

May he be a melitz yosher for the people he so so loved and may Am Yisroel be zoche to walk in his path and in the path of Binyamin Zev and Tali Kahane, zecher tzadik and kadosh levracha

May their lives be a pillar of light for us all.
