Policer Officer Proved WRONG in his eye-witness report

So, this proves that all eye-witness reports might be flawed, or were created to bolster orders from above, or to contribute to promotion of an eager policeman eye-witness account.

WRONG MAN: Police Drop Bid To Keep Meah Shearim Protester Locked Up After Video Clears Him

A Chareidi protester who was arrested in Yerushalayim’s Meah Shearim neighborhood on suspicion of hurling a stone at police officers was freed after his lawyer showed the court video footage proving he was not the person who threw it.

The man was taken into custody during a demonstration in the neighborhood on the strength of an identification by a police officer. In his action report, the officer wrote that he had seen the suspect throw a stone at the forces and had kept continuous eye contact with him until the arrest.

The suspect spent the entire night in custody. The following day, police asked the court to extend his detention by five more days, relying on the identification recorded in the officer’s report.

During the hearing, however, the suspect’s defense attorney presented a video of the incident. The footage showed that the stone had been thrown by a different person, not the detainee who had been brought before the judge.

After the video was shown, the police representative withdrew the request to extend the detention. He told the court that, having watched the footage and become convinced that someone else had thrown the stone, police were asking for the suspect to be released immediately and without conditions.
