JERUSALEM – U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee held a private conference call Sunday with members and supporters of United Hatzalah, the Israeli volunteer emergency medical services organization.
US donors who attended the private zoom meeting, shared with VINnews that, Huckabee expressed deep admiration for the work of United Hatzalah, saying he is “in awe” of their dedication. Based on what he has witnessed—with missiles raining down and widespread damage—he praised the volunteers for their selfless courage and swift response, calling their efforts beyond what he fully comprehends.
He emphasized that the State of Israel is a miracle from God, citing the biblical promise: “Whoever blesses Israel will be blessed, and whoever curses Israel will be cursed,” highlighting the profound spiritual significance of Israel’s existence.
Huckabee shared a personal story that he witnessed himself about a Wisconsin traveler who suffered a heart attack on a recent trip with him but was saved by the quick intervention of United Hatzalah volunteers. He hailed these volunteers as heroes who embody the best of humanity.
Noting his deep connection to Israel, Huckabee said he has visited the country more than 100 times over the past 40 years, underscoring his strong commitment to the U.S.-Israel relationship.
