A VIEW FROM TEL AVIV

How to pack a rocket bag (in case of attack)

More from Eli Katzof, Photographer

This past week I was working on a video about the north. How are the communities in the north coping with evacuation? What is life like for the few who remain? That video will come soon. However, as part of our trip we drove to Majdal Shams. We arrived only a few short hours after a rocket hit a soccer pitch and killed 12 children. I can’t exactly describe what it was like to be there. But I did make a video about it. In this case I interviewed my fellow reporter Canaan who was there with me. And through his testimony you can really get a feeling for what it was like for us to be at a site of a massacre and what the community was feeling. Please feel free to pass this video along.

A seasoned reporter from The Times of Israel recounts his experience covering a mass tragedy that killed 12 children and has left a town in mourning. Through his vivid narrative, he highlights the emotional aftermath that has shaken this small Golan Druze community and impacted the trajectory of the larger ongoing conflict in Israel.
