While we who live in Israel are focused on the Kotel, on Eliyahu HaNavi, and on bringing Mashiach as our first priority, we are still engaged in the day to day occurrences and how they add to or subtract from our Jewish observance and lifestyle. For many years Israel was shadowed by America via a political umbilical cord. What we are witnessing now in this relationship, after 30, 40, 50 years or more, is a corrosion of values. The sooner the cord can be cut the better it will be for the health of the Jews and Eretz Yisrael.
As a preface, I'd like to mention that there is a very large population of Jews living in America, some very religious and many secular.
So the writer begins: "We live in a country where Christians are being imprisoned for what they believe, but Planned Parenthood is free to slaughter babies, chop them up, and sell off their parts to the highest bidder.
"Christianity is being criminalized in the United States. (....) Christians all over this country are being put into positions where they must choose to either submit to the “new morality” or potentially lose their jobs. For Kim Davis, deciding to take a stand meant that she was thrown into prison. The radical judge that threw her into prison has said that she will stay there until she is willing to change her mind.
"We better start paying attention.
What is happening right in front of our eyes is
eerily reminiscent of what happened in Nazi Germany…"
"The pace of which our nation is circling the toilet is absolutely breathtaking. Just eleven years ago, a state constitutional amendment that banned gay marriage in Kentucky received support from 75 percent of the voters.
"Now, Kim Davis has been locked away, and more county clerks may be next. There is news that another county clerk named Casey Davis has stepped forward to say that he won’t issue any same sex marriage licenses either."
"Mathew Staver, Davis’s chief legal counsel, compared her persecution to that of Jews faced in Nazi Germany.(....) What happened in Nazi Germany, what happened there first, they removed the Jews from government public employment, then they stopped patronizing them in their private businesses, then they continued to stigmatize them, then they were the ‘problems,’ then they killed them.”
They are depriving the Christians of their religious morality and sense of integrity. What happens when they run out of Christians to crucify, will they go after the Jews and their religious morality and belief in a Creator who has commanded them to be Holy and live by the laws (Halacha) they were given on Mt Sinai by G-D?
What will it take before the Creator of the world is repulsed by His creations and destroys ....

Perhaps I was in the right place at the right time last night. It would be best for us to get a running head start.
The Xians have a persecution complex. They've been talking like this for years. They can't both be under persecution "like the Jews in Germany" and at the same time supposedly wield all this political power that Israel is supposed to benefit from.
Unfortunately, this behavior has become the law of the land and her job requires her to obey the law of the land. If she can't do it for religious reasons then she has to do what every other moral person does when faced with such a situation. You quit and find something more in keeping with your principles. Same with the Muslim stewardess who refused to serve alcoholic beverages.
I had to quit a job as a nurse because of the abortion counseling. I just couldn't reconcile it with my personal religious beliefs, so I quit and went to work somewhere else. Although I believed it to be immoral, it was legal and so people had the right to counseling; however, I couldn't be the one to give it.
This is not a systematic effort to isolate xians and deprive them of livelihood across the board throughout the entire nation, which is what really happened in Germany.
Thank you Devash. The writer describes what he has been watching for quite a while. This is his opinion and it might well be a cautionary one for all. The immoral new laws are institutional and apply to ALL citizens. It could happen to the Jewish institutions, like schools, camps, shuts and synagogues, public gatherings, businesses like bakeries, photographers, and so on. No one is excluded. The perverted thinking that is demanding everyone follow their script is eerily reminiscent, as the writer explains.
What you suggest may have been good advice 30 or more years ago, but not today. As I believe. However, everyone is entitled to their opinion on events in the world. There are many perspectives. There is no one size fits all. And as you have said on many occasions. I believe that I also want to highlight these issues.
It really is nice to have such an exchange of opinion. Thanks again.
