Why Do Cars Fall Apart So Completely in Accidents?

Horrible, Very Tragic, Never Saw Anything Like This Before . . .
This is what we hear from rescue crews nowadays

I remember many years ago, that cars used to offer some protection when involved in traffic accidents. Nowadays, most cars are totaled from ANY kind of traffic mishap. Could it be that manufacturers are making cars cheaply, with near inferior construction, that once involved in a traffic mishap, ESPECIALLY IN ISRAEL, they completely fall apart. Dare I pose the question that this might be deliberate? Perhaps it is good for business; greater profit; increased demand for imports from that particular nation that supplies ISRAEL with their yearly imports? And greater expense to repair those dents, scratches, and crushed fenders.

"Why are cars so fragile?”

"It has to do with physics and safety regulations. Cars are intentionally built to crumple on impact to absorb the shock of said impact. If the car had a rigid frame that didn’t crumple, the people inside would go flying through the windshield if the car hit anything at speed, because the inertial forces involved would mandate that anything inside the car keep moving forward. You know, ‘an object in motion will stay in motion’ and all that stuff you learn in physics class. […] And that is why manufacturers use fragile frames (besides the fact that you have to pay an extravagant amount to fix them).” quora.com  Why do cars need such fragile frames, not able to protect passengers at all.

Illegal Car Trade if the West Bank:

The road from Eizariya to Abu Dis, located in the largely IDF-controlled areas B and C of the West Bank, is replete with restaurants, coffee shops, electronics, and illegal cars, many illegal cars. Without even asking car owners, Fadi, a resident of Abu Dis, knows exactly which cars are mushtuba, local slang for illegal cars. “Look, to your left, there’s another one,” he says. “Here in Eizariya, we have no law, so 90 percent of the cars are illegal,” he chuckles. post

Not to mention the Palestinian car thieves, who recycle (sic!) parts into weapons.
