"The Postcard Project: The Songs that Built Israel"
Early pre-state Israel was a melting pot of cultures. New songs were commissioned to help create a common culture and were published on postcards and sent around the world, creating a national folk music in the process. Artists in the 30's were sent postcards and created art from the folksongs. We in turn have sent postcards of these songs to our favorite artists, asking them to create new versions to raise funds for the Cancer Charity of their choice.
Introducing Pioneers for a Cure, an artist-driven philanthropy with the immediate goal of raising $100,000 for cancer research and treatment within the next few months. Pioneers for a Cure believes that it is time to make cancer a thing of the past.
Today’s leading musicians and singer-songwriters are reinterpreting and recording pioneer songs, some classic and some nearly forgotten, for the Pioneers for a Cure recording project.
Now you can be a pioneer and help find a cure for cancer ..... for a song.
