Bitachon, Trust in G–D

Rabbi Pinchas Winston Shlit"a on Parshat, Beshalach
Am Yisrael at the Sea:

The Jewish people could not defend themselves against the Egyptian army, and they could not cross the sea on a wing and a prayer. What was left?

Bitachon. Trust in God. According to the midrash, by walking into the sea until they could go no further without drowning, the sea split. Thus is the power of bitachon, as the Leshem says:

In truth, nothing stands in the way of bitachon, as it says . . .
  • “One who trusts in God will be surrounded by kindness” (Tehillim 32:10). (Drushei Olam HaTohu, Chelek 2, Drush 5, Anaf 4, Siman 3)
At the sea, this was certainly the case. The explicit trust of the Jewish people to enter the sea until they could go no further accomplished what the prayer of the great Moshe Rabbeinu could not. The Nefesh HaChaim continues:

This is the meaning of the verse,
  • “To a steed in Pharaoh’s chariot, I have compared you, My beloved” (Shir HaShirim 1:9).
In other words, Pharaoh’s horse represented a reversal of the natural order, since normally the driver leads the horse. With respect to Pharaoh and his army however, the horse led the driver, as the rabbis have taught (Shemos Rabbah 23; Shir HaShirim Rabbah 1:50). It is to this [unnatural state of existence] that My beloved is compared and likened. (Nefesh HaChaim, Sha’ar 1, Ch. 9)

As the Nefesh HaChaim explains, the bitachon of the Jewish people at the sea is what created an unnatural occurrence. It is so valuable to God that it can “pay” for miracles far beyond the merit of the person to invoke. It is like asking for $1 million, and having a wealthy person all of sudden offer to guarantee the loan.

Bitachon and calm. The two words go together. Perfectly. There is no true and lasting sense of calm except for that which results from trusting God. Even a disbeliever has to agree that if there is a God, and He is Who He says He is, then He is also the most reliable source of success and security there is.

It’s simple. Man is limited. He can barely control himself. How can he be expected to control the universe and the destiny of people? He tries, and some fool themselves into believing that they have more control in life than they actually do. In the end, it becomes clear that they were wrong.

Sometimes, even deadly wrong.

God, on the other hand, is unlimited. This is part of what makes Him God.
The moment God would be limited in any way He would become like us. He might be a superhuman but a human nonetheless, and less than 100 percent reliable because like us, He too would have weaknesses.

There have been times when those who challenged God at least believed in Him. The sorcerer Bilaam tried to curse God’s people, but he still believed in God.1 Much later in history, the Babylonian king Nebuchadnetzar destroyed God’s Temple and exiled His people, but he too still believed in the Jewish God.

Even Pharaoh, who at first refused to free the Jewish people, still believed in God. He just didn’t realize at first the extent to which God was prepared to intervene in human history on behalf of the Jewish people. He learned this from the 10 plagues that destroyed his country and the splitting of the sea that washed away his army.

Everything began to change when prophecy ended in the year 3448 from Creation, or 313 BCE. If man is not going to listen to God, then God is not going to talk to man, at least directly. It is a tremendous merit to be able to communicate with God.

Today, so far down the road and so distant from all forms of direct Divine communication, is it even possible to know God that well, well enough to trust in Him? Is it possible to achieve the peace of mind that trust in God is supposed to provide? It says:
  • Trust in God forever, for in God, God is the strength of the worlds. (Yeshayahu 26:4)
  • Those knowing Your Name will trust in You, and You do not forsake those Who seek You. (Tehillim 9:11)
This says that trust in God is supposed to be forever, in every generation and at any time. It says that if a person endeavors to make the effort to achieve bitachon, God will answer him, take care of him, provide for him and grant him peace of mind. As it says,
  • In truth, nothing stands in the way of bitachon, as it says . . . “One who trusts in God will be surrounded by kindness” (Tehillim 32:10). (Drushei Olam HaTohu, Chelek 2, Drush 5, Anaf 4, Siman 3)

Dear Dafna ... (update)

DEAR DAFNA, you may not have grown up in your biological home, but you have managed to attract thousands of new family members in Am Yisrael who have come to recognize the kindness and specialness that you have left us.

"Atarah [Dafna's adoptive mother] recounted how Dafna had made the decision to foster children at the same time that she decided to get married to Natan. “Dafna told us that when Natan had proposed she said she only had one condition, ‘no matter how many children we have, we will also foster children in addition to our own.’ And that is indeed what happened. They accepted Yaniv and Yair when they were three and the other was one and a half. It wasn’t simply to find an adoptive family that would accept two brothers together. The invested so much in both of those children and in the children of their own.” “We lost little Dafna. Little Dafna from whom emerged a woman who knew how to give back to others.”

NATAN MEIR: “My Dafna, she was one in a million. One in a million who grew up in a home that wasn’t a home and succeeded at growing and rehabilitating herself. Dafna was determined to return loving kindness to the world, and she did!”

Dafna Meir leaves us with some thoughts that should be read by every Knesset Member and Government Member:

“I have been thinking a great deal lately, thinking about why, what should be done or shouldn’t be or can’t be, how to behave, especially on the road, but not only. The fears, for my husband and children, my friends and family. The situation isn’t easy. I sometimes have a feeling of [being in a game of] Russian roulette. And I can’t sleep.”

“There is a lot of sadness in my work. I have a hard time falling asleep after shifts. I wander around dazed in the house for at least two hours,”

she feared for emergency medical crews from Otniel who rush out to help those who are hurt nearby.

“Maybe there are traps” waiting for the rescue teams, she worries. “It’s frightening! And when they go out, in the first minutes before they arrive, maybe they have time to think, ‘Who will I meet this time? Maybe a neighbor, a friend, a wife?’ That’s the horrible reality.”

–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

MORE PRECIOUS WORDS FROM INTERVIEW, PRINTED ON TimesofIsrael:

“I’m thankful for every minute I had with Dafna,” he said tearfully.
“I loved her from the minute we met when we were both soldiers until her very last day,” he said. “I’ll always remember her curly hair peeking out from under her winter hat.”

“When I walked in, she was already on the ground, I saw them struggling and I screamed in panic,” Renana told the Srugim news website on Wednesday.

“He was trying to get the knife out of her body to attack us, but she wouldn’t let him,” Renana said. “She wouldn’t let him take the knife out of her, she didn’t let him hurt us,”

“She was still breathing,” Renana said of her mother. “I asked her to keep breathing and not to stop no matter what, but already I knew that it was over,” she told Srugim. “My mom tried to keep breathing, and I felt like she heard me talking to her even though she didn’t respond.”

“I really hope that she didn’t hear all my screaming,” Renana said. “First I called the paramedics, and then I called my father.”

“She really was like a best friend to me; we didn’t have the regular mother-daughter relationship,” Renana said of her mother. “We talked about everything; she was always there for me. Our family, us, her children were her entire world.”

[Dear Dafna: If you can see us down here, know that you are loved, you are a special neshoma.]

COMMENTS to above excerpts from TimesofIsrael article:

A beautiful Jewish soul has been extinguished by yet another savage hate filled Islamic terrorist.

Ale-ha Ha-sholom. May the Almighty comfort Dafna's husband and children among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

OTHER ARTICLES:

SHE WAS A HEALER.  Dafna Meir was 38 when they came for her. She was the ideal Israeli, a daughter of Judea from the line of Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel and Leah. She was a loving wife to her husband Natan, a loving and doting Jewish mother to her six children. She was a woman of valor, choosing to live in Otniel, the Biblical heartland of the Jewish State; the Bible Belt scorned by the world. She was a nurturer. Two of her children were adopted. She was a healer. At the Soroka Hospital in Be’er Sheva, she served as a nurse. INN:

"She had so much more to give."

SHILOH MUSINGS: Arab Teens in Forefront of Deadly Terrorism with VIDEO. “Concerning the young age of the terrorists, both the PMW-Palestinian Media Watch  and David Bedein's Israel Behind the News have been writing about the education/indoctrination, all supported by the United Nations and innumerable foreign supported NGOs.” There go those NGOs again.

ALSO:  Israel Behind the News with VIDEO. “Dafna Meir, Mother of 6, Butchered by an Arab While Protecting Her Children” “Internal Security Minister Gilad Erdan (Likud) on Sunday presented the weekly Cabinet meeting with an index of Palestinian Authority (PA) incitement, including incitement to terrorism seen on children’s programs on official PA TV, in which children called for the murder of Jews. He also presented his plan to expose the complicity in fueling terror to the international community.” There goes the EU again.

NAFTALI BENNETT:  Real threat to Israel is leaders' complacency. ”Israeli history teaches us dear lessons on the danger of falling under the spell of 'Conceptions,'" Bennett told his audience at an Institute for National Securities Studies conference…"It's not the murderers who attack our civilians in Israeli streets and bring their concrete blocks into the heart of Jerusalem - but rather our mental blocks. Instead of shaping our future with our own hands, Israel is dragged into an existing reality. This, in my opinion, is the greatest threat to our security.”

Dana, "You were a family of six, but you had room to give more, and you opened your home to two more children. You were a happy woman, joyous, optimistic, responsible and loving. You were a unique soul. You brought life everywhere." Bennett noted that Dafna combined conventional medicine, in her work as a nurse at Soroka Hospital, and work as a natural therapist, specializing in matters of fertility.

"In addition, you guided brides – because wherever light can be added and new life begun, that is where you said – 'I am here.'

If only our leaders'  words would come to action. Naftali Bennett knows how to speak endearing words. "Our love is greater than your hatred. A nation whose heroes murder mothers in front of their children, will not be accepted into the family of nations, ever. A nation like that will never have a state. Quite simply, because hatred has no state."

Bennett noted that soon, we will be celebrating the 50th year since the liberation of Israel's biblical heartland in 1967. "From a desolate countryside, we turned the magical tracts of Hevron, Yehuda, Samaria, Binyamin, Jerusalem and the Golan into areas teeming with 500,000 Jews who have returned to their homeland," he said, and promised: "We will be 700,000, then we will reach 900 thousand, and celebrate the million, and then we will reach two million Jews in Samaria, Hevron, the Etzion Bloc, Jerusalem, the Bik'a and Yehuda."

"We shall continue. And we shall win through life," he vowed. Halevai!

Contributing to the Redemption L’Maaseh

David Mark of Israel Rising has given us Jewish Israelis something we can do to help the Redemption along. The history of our Nation cannot be ignored. The Torah gives us the parameters with which to view the world and our future in our promised Land of Eretz Yisrael. Each step to the future needs a beginning.

Listen to David's very interesting interview of Rabbi Dov Avraham Ben Shor (audio) of the Sanhedrin, that covers much of the current topics misunderstood and  creating hysterical criticism in the headlines (including the courts, laws, government and security measures. Listen here:

We Must Take the Exile Out of Israel

He speaks of the future impact of the Sanhedrin and on exilic Judaism versus one that focuses on the Redemption. If one wants to help Take the Exile Out of Israel this is a good place to begin doing something practical (l'maasei).

 What is the Sanhedrin:

The Sanhedrin is the name given in the mishna to the council of seventy-one Jewish sages who constituted the supreme court and legislative body in Judea during the Roman period. It continued to function for more than four hundred years after the destruction of the Temple and there have been several orthodox attempts to re-establish it since that time. The current attempt to re-establish the Sanhedrin is generally referred to as the "nascent Sanhedrin", or the "developing Sanhedrin".

Volunteers are needed by the Friends of the Sanhedrin to help with –

The two Sanhedrin related websites, thesanhedrin.org and thesanhedrin.net require your help. We have many articles, research and position papers that need to be organized, translated, and uploaded to help make these websites the go-to location on the internet for all things related to the Sanhedrin and the future courts of the Jewish people. Without your help, most people will not be aware of the near weekly meetings being held, and the over 200 issues currently being discussed and debated within the various Sanhedrin related committees.

Currently, our websites are set up as restricted wikis. You can start to help immediately by creating a user account on both the English and Hebrew version of each websites, and getting it approved. Ptolemy's Map of 140 CE ... Rashi's Maps of Eretz Yisrael ... Our Land of Israel

Ptolemy's Map from 140 CE

Astronomer, mathematician, and geographer, Ptolemy played a key part in laying out history and cartography as we know it. It was Ptolemy who realized the earth was round, who corrected the Greeks' geocentric view of the universe (that the earth was at the center of everything, and rationalized the motions of the planets) prevalent in his time. Ptolemy lived from around 87 to 150 AD. He spent much of his life in Alexandria (Egypt), but it seems that he originally came from Greece.

A map created by Greek astronomer and cartographer Claudius Ptolemy, from around 140 AD, is considered to be the oldest surviving representation of Ireland. Included among his treatise “Geographia,” Ptolemy provided a set of coordinates showing different geographical features of the island, from which maps were later created in the 15th and 16th centuries. Ptolemy’s Roman era “map” looks much like today’s Ireland, save a few discrepancies. [...]  Even up to the time of Christopher Columbus Ptolemy's eight volume "Guide to Geography" remained the principal work on the subject.

Rashi's Maps of Eretz Israel

From an article in Haaretz:  The earliest Jewish maps of the Holy Land, unearthed and collected by Rubin (Prof. Rehav “Buni” Rubin’s “The Shape of the Land”), were sketches made by Rashi (Rabbi Shlomo Yitzchaki, 1105–1040) in the 11th century. In these maps, the greatest Torah exegesist schematically presented the regions of Israel through which the Children of Israel passed after the exodus from Egypt, as well as the borders of the Promised Land as described in Numbers 33-34. The maps also contain simpler sketches by Rashi. These sketches served as an aid in Rashi’s seminary, and their role was mainly an interpretive one.

   33 בְּמִדְבַּר    Parshas Masei
These are the stages of the children of Israel,
by which they went forth out of the land of Egypt
by their hosts under the hand of Moses and Aaron.
And Moses wrote their goings forth, stage by stage,
by the commandment of the LORD;
and these are their stages at their goings forth.
And they journeyed from Rameses in the first month,
on the fifteenth day of the first month;
on the morrow after the passover the children of Israel
went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians,

The Land of Israel portrayed in them is more a talmudic concept than a real place. Rubin suggests that these sketches express the fondness Rashi felt for the Holy Land[...]. The efforts made by Rashi to define the relative positioning of each site described in the Bible, as well as his writings, place the interpretation of the holy text at the maps’ center, rather than attempting to describe a real geographic entity.

Thus, for example, there is an illustration of Jacob’s Ladder leaning over several locations – Jerusalem, Be’er Sheva and Beit El. The difficult-to-interpret associated verse with which Rashi was contending (Bereshis 28:10-19) refers to the words of Jacob relating to Beit El (“Surely the Lord is in this place”).

Maps based on Rashi’s sketches were improved during the Renaissance, acquiring illustrations of cities, mountains and ships – as was customary in that period. However, they still remained icons of the Holy Land, whose sanctified status relied on the stature of Rashi. This article,  Of Biblical Proportions: How Maps of the Land of Israel Never Lost Their Roots, surprisingly, comes from Haaretz, once well respected for its interesting Israel research articles.

The sixth chapter* is devoted to holy site lists that were published in the 19th century. The sites depicted often followed the pilgrimage route of Jews in the 19th century, restricting the notations to the Four Holy Cities [Jerusalem, Hebron, Tiberias, Safed] and the tombs of Jewish [holy sages]. Here, too, the land is a pilgrimage destination rather than a regular geographic space.

Our Current Map of Israel

I would think that Rashi when he created his (spiritual biblical) maps would be astonished to find how the current map of Israel is being eaten up by the enemy of the Jewish People in Israel. One organization is concerned with our Land:  the map of Israel. Regavim. The mission of Regavim is to ensure responsible, legal, accountable & environmentally friendly use of Israel’s national lands and the return of the rule of law to all areas and aspects of the land and its preservation. Please view this video.

Ever so quietly, without the roar of battle and clamor of war, the Jewish People is being robbed of the Land of Israel. On this battlefield cement mixers have replaced tanks, plows replace cannons and innocent-looking civilians replace uniformed soldiers. Only the goal remains the same – Dis-inheriting the Jews of their land; today the EU sponsors illegal Palestinian roads and Arab building to help PA annex Area C. More: Position Papers and Maps.

The conquest and settling of the Land of Israel. Acre after acre, house after house, buying, squatting, illegally cultivating the soil that is not theirs, sometimes with guile, other times with violence, with huge sums of money and firmly backed by anti-Zionist organizations in Israel and abroad –

Israel is losing its hold on the Jewish people’s lands, and the legacy of Rashi's Maps.

"...prediction for the End-of-Days, and its comparison of the Final Redemption..."

Rabbi Pinchas Winston Shlit"a on Parshas Bo

We may all be in for a big surprise, according to the Zohar (large case) and the Mitok Midvash (small case):

DAY WILL COME before the arrival of Moshiach THAT WILL BE for the Jewish people AS IT WAS AT THE LEAVING OF EGYPT, REGARDING WHICH IT SAYS, “AND YOSEF DIED, ALL HIS BROTHERS AND THAT GENERATION” (Shemos 1:6).

This means that the knowledge and grasp of Torah will end, and their lives will become embittered just as the exile overpowered them after the death of Yosef. There will be “poverty” of Torah in the final generation, and financial poverty which deny them the strength to properly be involved in Torah.

With respect to this it says, THERE WON’T BE DEATH IN THE FINAL GENERATION EXCEPT FOR POVERTY, BECAUSE A POOR PERSON IS CONSIDERED DEAD (Nedarim 64b), TO FULFILL THROUGH THEM, “AND I WILL LEAVE OVER IN YOUR MIDST A HUMBLE AND POOR PEOPLE, AND THEY SHALL TAKE SHELTER IN THE NAME OF GOD” (Tzephania 3:12), AND TO FULFILL THROUGH THEM, “YOU DELIVER THE HUMBLE PEOPLE” (II Shmuel 22:28). (Zohar, BeHa’alosecha, Ray’a Mehemna 153a)

There is no question that the financial situation has worsened over the last 10 years. Everyone points it out, especially the “Givers.” Between the greed-fueled stock market crashes and the greed-fueled scandals, money is just not flowing in the Jewish world as it once did. It has affected everyone, even the honest people, and the Zohar addresses this as well:

THE WEALTHY WHO REMAIN among the Jewish people WILL FULFILL the words of the verse, “YOU ARE LAX, JUST LAX” (Shemos 5:17). They are LAX IN TORAH learning themselves AND LAX IN DOING charitable GOOD FOR THOSE WHO COULD LEARN TORAH, AND THE MEN OF VALOR, that is, the Torah scholars WHO ARE CIRCULATING from necessity FROM CITY TO CITY AND DO NOT RECEIVE FAVOR or mercy. (Zohar, BeHa’alosecha, Ray’a Mehemna 153a)

The Zohar, interestingly enough, does not stop here with its prediction for the End-of-Days, and its comparison of the Final Redemption to the first one. It even anticipates the reason for the withholding of funds, and it will not be as people say:

THEY ARE LAX, the wealthy people claim, BECAUSE OF THE WEIGHT OF TAXES, and that this is the reason why they cannot support Torah scholars. IF YOU SAY that the reason is because THEY ARE BURDENED BY THE WEIGHT OF THE TAX, AND THAT this is why THEY DO NOT DO GOOD, it is not true. They are simply lax and the opposite is the case. Not sufficiently helping Torah scholars causes taxes to become burdensome, which in turn prevents them from being generous with Torah scholars. Regarding them it says, “LET THE LABOR FALL HEAVY UPON THE MEN AND LET THEM WORK AT IT” (Shemos 5:9), that is, let there be HEAVY TAXES UPON THEM. Thus, though at first they willingly refused to help
Parashas Bo 5776!3

Torah scholars in the end they be forced not to support them. Thus it further says, “AND LET THEM NOT SPEAK ABOUT FALSE MATTERS” (Shemos 5:9) that is, by increasing taxes and making it very difficult to support Torah scholars THEY WILL actually NOT BE SPEAKING FALSELY since it will be as they say. (Zohar, BeHa’alosecha, Ray’a Mehemna 153a).

The verses quoted by the Zohar are of course talking about the situation for the Jewish people in Egypt at the end of the oppression, which was very different from the situation as it exists today. Without the Zohar, one would never have thought to interpret them in such a way as to apply them to the final exile and redemption, and certainly not in the manner that the Zohar has explained them. This is even though there are strong comparisons made between the leaving of Egypt and the Final Redemption.

The Zohar says that we invite crisis when we do not follow in His ways, so whatever follows is to right the wrong. Therefore, it is now as good a time as ever to become an expert in concepts such as trust and faith in God.

People will mock such ideas, they usually do. Nevertheless, at this point, it is the only real preparation for what happens at the end of an exile. Maybe this is what the Talmud means when it compares the Final Redemption to the first one, also in terms of how many people will survive. The midrash says that it was position and money that kept four-fifths of the Jews in Egypt when the time to leave came. They all perished in the Plague of Darkness as a result. According to the Talmud, the situation will be likewise in the Messianic Era as well (Sanhedrin 111a).

They too mocked.

Modesty Comes to the Fashion World

Dolce & Gabbana creates

One Positive Affect/Effect of the Muslim Tsunami
The world will take notice of the modesty* coverings required of Muslim Women*

(NOTICE: only the first two minutes are not, after that totally modest)

*Jewish Modesty is not just covering the body. It includes much, much more than the outer look.

There is a core distinction between the Jewish laws and customs of modesty and the Muslim mode of dress, reflecting two absolutely contrary world views.

The parameters established by Jewish law are predicated upon the principle of "The glory of a princess is on the inside" (Psalms 45:14). This verse sums up the need for a Jewish woman to be modest in all ways, as true royalty ought to be. Every Jewish woman is regarded as a princess. Just as the King and Queen don't reveal all their riches to the masses, so too a Jewish woman keeps her honor covered and not exposed to the eyes of all to behold. Aish

What is Jewish Modesty (Wikipedia) . It is used to describe both the character trait of modesty and humility, as well as a group of Jewish laws pertaining to conduct in general and especially between the sexes. The term is frequently used with regard to the rules of dress for women.

"The Temple Will be Rebuilt in 5776"

Some good news IY"H from Rabbi Glazerson 'and' the Tolna Rebbe of Jerusalem:

"Yibaneh Hamikdash" appears ONCE in the Torah:

"eilu v'eilu divrei elokim chaim" (Eruvin 13b)

Jerusalem - Tolna Rebbe:
Why We Won't Be Able To Build The Third Bais Hamikdash On Our Own

A mussar shmooze in Yidish given (2/2014) by the Tolna Rebbe of Jerusalem, Rabbi Yitzchok Menachem Weinberg, discusses with a sense of humor why Chazal tell us, (Jerusalem Talmud, Megillah 1:11) that the third Bais Hamikdash will descend from the heavens, fully built.

As audio tape posted by by Israeli news site, B’Chadrei Chareidim, (http://bit.ly/1obPbHk) the Tolna Rebbe describes what will happen in the times of Moshiach:

“My sons, Hakadosh Baruch Hu knows his yidden. Imagine for yourselves that Moshiach is coming. Let’s try to picture for ourselves that we are standing now on a Motzei Shabbos and we all hear the sound of the shofar. Moshiach is here.

“The first thing that we need to do is to rebuild the Bais Hamikdash. We all know how the chareidi world operates, Baruch Hashem. Picture for yourselves how this Bais Hamikdash will be built. Let me tell you what is going to happen.

“The first ones who will enter the picture will be Agudas Yisroel who will say ‘Of course we are the ones who will build the Bais Hamikdash. We are the ones who worry about all the needs of the chareidi community. Is there any doubt that we should be the ones in charge?’ They will convene a whole assembly of gedolim in order to decide what needs to be done.

“Meanwhile, R’ Meir Porush will come and say, ‘And what about me? The Agudah represents everyone? I want this to be under my auspices.’ And then there will be a second group of Rabbonim discussing how to build the Bais Hamikdash.

“The Litvaks will come next and they will start to scream. ‘Gevald! The chasidism should build the Bais Hamikdash? They will all be dancing because they don’t know anything about the actual halachos of building the Bais Hamikdash. They will offer to find one Kohein who actually knows the halachos of the avoda. But they will tell us: “for this part, you are going to need the Kollel Chazon Ish. For that part you are going to need the avreichim in Brisk.” What are you, crazy? We will build the Bais Hamikdash.’

“Then will come Satmar, from both sides, and they will say, ‘You are all Zionists! You are unfit to build the Bais Hamikdash.’

“The Chabadniks will also get involved. ‘You are all crazy! Moshiach is ours! It is our Rebbe, our Moshiach, what are you talking about the Bais Hamikdash? You are all insane.’

“You understand that Moshiach will come and, nebuch, it will be another long galus just until we can all agree who will build the Bais Hamikdash.

Therefore, Hakadosh Baruch Hu has made the decision for us saying, ‘Listen to me, my children. It is enough for me that you will come to the Bais Hamikdash. I will build it on my own, because there is no other way the Bais Hamikdash could ever be built.’”

Blueprint for the World

The Vilna Gaon (1720-1797). "We must bring 600,000 Jews to the Land of Israel. ... This is the authentic love of one's homeland.

“And the Lord your G-d will bring you to the land that your fathers possessed and you shall possess it.”   This is the 5,708thverse of the Torah, and in the year 5,708 (1948) the state of Israel was established and the Law of Return enacted, of which law the Sages’ saying can be applied: “The day of ingathering of exiles is as great as the day heaven and earth were created.”

From the very beginning of "The Return" to this new (old)land that the desperate Jews were to inhabit, there were two sides to the endeavor.

At one point the religious Jews were very much in favor of resettling. In fact, in 1880s there was religious Aliya from Eastern Europe, with farming settlements such as Mazkeret Batya. The Hovevei Zion, or the Lovers of Zion, were responsible for the creation of 20 new Jewish settlements in Palestine between 1870 and 1897. In the late 1870s, Jewish philanthropists such as the Montefiores and the Rothschilds responded to the persecution of Jews in Eastern Europe by sponsoring agricultural settlements for Russian Jews. The Jews who migrated in this period are known as the First Aliyah. Founded in 1878, Rosh Pinna and Petah Tikva were the first modern Jewish settlements.

Mazkeret Batya is a town in central Israel located southeast of Rehovot and 25 kilometres from Tel-Aviv, founded November 7, 1883, by 11 pioneers from Russia and 7 local Jews [...] the first agricultural settlement of the Hovevei Zion movement. Today the area is in demand. Even Nefesh B'Nefesh is promoting Aliya to: "Mazkeret Batya, founded by a group of religious farmers in 1883, is absolutely charming. Quiet and slightly isolated, yet very close to large shopping areas and within commute distances from the main employment areas."

Back to the planning stages. In fact, the Orthodox Jews were very much in favor of Hertzl's idea (as they perceived it). However, the East European Jews were still entrenched in their lifestyle to undertake such a move. When Hertzl died there was a struggle between the forces. Zionism breaks with Orthodox Judaism and moves towards Communism.

It is from this communism and socialism the seeds of todays secular cultural zionism took root. Somewhere our Torah literature explains that this was actually ordained. That the non-religious were to inhabit, and build the infrastructure for this final Aliyah to Eretz Yisrael. However, if Orthodox Judaism had succeeded politically (which I believe was truly the purpose), I'm sure the concepts of "Torah", "Halacha", "Mashiach", "Biblical agenda", "Jewish morality",  and belief and devotion to G–D would be every day conversation, not to mention the news media.

However, this cultural zionism (communist socialism) is what produced today's thinking, such as Religious Zionism must disengage from zealots:

"If you go to Judea and Samaria communities and to the large Zionist-religious [rather, Religious zionists] public which supports them even though it doesn’t live there, you will discover that most members of the young generation are unaware of the international dispute over their future. As far as they are concerned, it is definitely Israeli land, and the Arabs living there are not welcoming us because of their viciousness and theft. God promised us the land and it is our holy duty to hold on to it. [Because they live and breathe a Torah ordered lifestyle, and work and live with the Land like the early settlers of Mazkeret Batya.]

"With such a dominant discourse, when the realpolitik [secular status quo beliefs of the non-Jewish nations] is completely mixed with a biblical and halachic discourse alongside frustration over the fact that the State of Israel is not being run "according to the Torah" and does not determine its values, borders and agenda according to a biblical agenda, there is no wonder that the most frustrated people decide to act. [Because they see the corruption within the Israeli society, a complete breakdown of healthy mores, and constant unrelenting terror from Arabs]

"We are talking about a group of young religious people [Jews], who honestly believe in the Jews' superiority over the Arabs, a superiority they learned about at home. Pay attention to the "Revolt" group's plan: Appointing a king, building a temple, eliminating idolatry, expelling the gentiles and religious coercion in the public domain. Their entire language is out of touch with modern reality in an embarrassing and depressing manner.
[the complete rai·son d'ê·tre of the Jewish People from Mt. Sinai up to today, according to the Holy Torah, is the rebuilding of the Third Temple, Mashiach's arrival, the establishment of a Judaic Commonwealth, like the First and Second Temple Periods, bringing the Nations of the world to recognize the One G–D and the elevation of the world. But this is anathema to the Jewishly estranged cultural zionists in power today.]

This is why there is a breakdown in the Israeli society of today, with rampant poverty, hungry children, a political environment powered by individual "egoism" and not for the betterment of the Israeli population, an overemphasis of cultural depravity, immorality, and Arabs attacking before and after 1948 until this very hour. They attack because the Jews of Eretz Yisrael are not living according to the laws and ways of our Holy Torah.

Waiting for the Court Trial

"the shootings, stabbings, injuries and murders continue, and it is clear that our government has failed in its first duty – to protect the lives of citizens. It is in such situations that vigilantes flourish"

Waiting for the court trial

In the meantime, we are all delving via opinion.
The media is sentencing via opinion.
The govt. operates via opinion (political correctness / ego).
The Shabak tortures because of opinion.
There is no real democracy here, only pseudo democracy when it fits their purpose, otherwise, they operate as if a police state.
The mishmash of Israel's future controlled by these forces is pushing back progress toward our redemption.

The clock is ticking ....
The time is drawing near .... **6000 (see below)

What the People of Israel are Saying (Crucial Opinions):

*With regard to “Amiram Ben-Uliel and minor indicted in Duma attack”, the shootings, stabbings, injuries and murders continue, and it is clear that our government has failed in its first duty – to protect the lives of citizens. It is in such situations that vigilantes flourish. At present, the vigilantes are limited to a small fringe element in Jewish society that has adopted terror as a response to terror. If Arab terrorism remains unchecked, the vigilantes’ response will spread to a larger segment of our society.

When a government does not protect its people, vigilantes step into the void. The Torah commands one to protect his life. There is nothing illegal about this. Only that it embarrasses the government, unveils the government's inadequate response to terrorists who kill, mame, and disrupt the nation. On the otherhand, what will it take to wake up the nation of Israel to give respect to G–D who created us and the Land of Eretz Yisrael? Why the fear for the laws of the Torah, G–D given laws to maintain a Jewish Nation, to raise children in modesty and awareness of Hashem. G–D given laws that sanctify the union (marriage) of a Jewish man to a Jewish woman. The current government and society of Israel is in deep trouble. "'Assimilation (in Israel) is a ticking time bomb'" Children are being raised without morals and an awareness of  G–D, an attitude of "anything goes" like that in America is destroying the spiritual fabric of the people.

'Half-a-year in jail over a complete lie'
because I wear a kippa

The Father of Mordechai says: "I wasn't angry at the state, but I was disappointed because we saw there are huge problems here," said Gedalya. "Deep problems. The entire state needs a huge repair. If you can arrest someone for almost half a year over a complete lie, that's a very deep problem."

*"And we all have mouths. Public opinion is made by the public. We all need to be more outgoing ion making that opinion. The police and ISA and two faced polititions, Israeli and American, are all the same. They abuse their power, committing crimes and then lie about it, which is the biggest crime. First rule of Israeli leadership "NO MORE LIES" SHAME ON YOU ISRAEL WHERE A KIPAH AND PEOT ARE REASONS TO DISCRIMANATE"

*"The persecution is now directed at Americans who have made Aliyah. They are trying to stir up a hysteria because they understand that American Jews who make Aliyah are mostly religious and that would further the weakness on the left because religious people won't vote for them. Throwing the Duma victims under the bus will not help Yesha residents. Besides having the disturbing comments from trusted people like rabbis insinuate guilt , it is also the most wicked violation of halacha. As If you read the leftist papers you can see that they hammer away against American olim. This is as serious as it gets. Wake up. Yesha residents are next on the list."

*"Everything from beginning to end was a lie, still is a lie, and will always be a lie, because we are under the occupation of a medinat that lies. They hope for a change, for a better day, don't we all? But Israel is not America, and it will never be America nor American, no matter how much it tries to be or yearns to be. In America, there is, actually, some facade of a democratic process that is, in fact, utilized. Here, there is no democracy. To say that Israel is the only democracy in the middle east, is a lie. This is the first lie. This modern incarnation of Israel was founded by communists, anti-Torah, secular revolutionaries who hated religious Jews. Nothing has changed. One only has to ready history to learn what happened to the Jews who arrived here, and actually looked like Jews. One only has to read the history of what these elite so-called Jewish Bolsheviks did to decimate the Yeminite and other Jews who came from Sephardi and arab communities. I do not need to repeat the stories here. These poor parents are right...Israel has problems. But, these problems will not go away until we become a true Jewish nation, operating under the law of Torah. [...]"

Pungent Comment to the Duma Detainee Affair:

JPost Readers React  *How can a supposedly democratic country have a defense minister and education minister who call Jewish youths “terrorists” and accuse them of burning an Arab house when there is not a shred of evidence. Confessions from torture and psychological manipulation are not honest and not legal in a supposedly democratic society.
*In the first, you report that defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon “vehemently rejected allegations of abuse and torture leveled against the Shin Bet....” You go on to report that “dozens of psychologists and social workers signed a petition... in which they called for a halt to all torture of suspects who are minors, which they said violated the country’s basic laws.” The second article states that Education Minister Naftali Bennett called the alleged attackers “disturbed anarchists” with a “delusional and messianic idea” who are seeking to “destroy the ties between the nation of Israel and the State of Israel.” Did he ever meet the youths or question them? Was he in the room where they claim they were tortured? Obviously not! Yet he says he looked into the claims and found that everything was legal. Their adherence to a G-Dless secularism creates these bald-faced lies.

*Has anyone arrested and questioned members of the Arab family that was feuding for years with the family in the burned house in Duma? I didn’t hear about any arrests or torture to get information from them. How about bringing the suspected youths to trial and, if there is no evidence, allowing them to go free? Enough is enough!

The Early History of the Establishment of the State of Israel was full of Arab marauders (terrorists) who stole property, killed Jewish Settlers, and other sundry acts of war. So what did some of the 'settlers' do? They dealt with it.

Some History on Vigilante Groups Protecting Jewish Settlements
In the Vacumn of a Lack of Security Protecting the Jews

The Special Night Squads (SNS)  (Plugot Ha'Layla Ha'Meyukhadot, פלוגות הלילה המיוחדות) were a joint British-Jewish counter-insurgency unit, established by Captain Orde Wingate in Palestine in 1938, during the 1936-1939 Arab revolt. The SNS comprised British infantry soldiers and Jewish Supernumerary Police. Wingate hand-picked his men [...] and trained them to form mobile ambushes. [...] The operations came more frequently and became more ruthless. The arabs complained to the British[....]
For its actions, Wingate was awarded
the Distinguished Service Order (DSO),
and his three British officers were awarded the Military Cross.

The Jewish paramilitary organisations in the New Yishuv (the Zionist enterprise in Palestine) started with the Second Aliyah (1904 to 1914). It consisted of a small group of Jewish immigrants who guarded settlements for an annual fee.

The Control of the then Jewish Agency Pit Jew Against Jew

Many Haganah fighters objected to the official policy of havlagah (restraint) that Jewish political leaders (who had become increasingly controlling of the Haganah) had imposed on the militia. Fighters had been instructed to only defend communities and not initiate counterattacks against Arab gangs or their communities. [This is the Status Quo the settlements of Yehuda and Shomron are living under today].  This policy appeared defeatist to many who believed that the best defense is a good offense. In 1931, the more militant elements of the Haganah splintered off and formed the Irgun Tsva'i-Leumi (National Military Organization), better known as "Irgun" (or by its Hebrew acronym, pronounced "Etzel"). The Irgun and Etzel.

We know that the communities of Yehuda and Shomron have been infiltrated by Arab Marauders, the Fogel Family was slaughtered by them, The "three boys" were abducted and murdered by them,  Jewish Fathers and Children have been murdered by them, Car Attacks are an on-going business for these Arab Murderers, and now we have "Stabbers" in their teens trying to kill Jews. This has propelled righteous religious boys into action.

This medinat has gone insane [....] they become Kim Jong!  Dov Shurin is the composer, who they arrested/questioned, of Zachreini Na, a traditional song recording the Biblical Samson's revenge against the Philistines. Wikipedia: Shurin's music ranges from soft folk ballads to electric guitar, fast-paced, danceable music. His lyrics range from original to biblical sources or a mashup of the two. A major hit of his was "Zochreini Na" זכרני נא[[]. The lyrics of the song are the prayer of Samson asking G–d to restore his strength so he can exact his revenge upon Philistines who had captured and blinded him (Book of Judges 16, 28). The song was initially popular mainly on Israeli settlements before gradually spreading to non-settler circles.

Assimilation in Israel is a REAL "Ticking Bomb."The Education, Culture and Sports Committee of the Knesset met on Wednesday morning to discuss the exclusion of Dorit Rabiniyan’s book entitled “Borderlife” from the curriculum set forth by the Ministry of Education. REPOSTED: About Rabbi Mizrachi's Successful Trip to Israel

Rabbi Mizrachi's so-called recent Shiur made the rounds in online social media and in Israeli Haredi Media. The fact that this shiur was given years and years ago was somehow overlooked. It seems someone wanted to use it to foment trouble. The articles were the spreading of Lashon Hara, which is tantamount to murder.

This reminds me of Moshe Rabbeinu when he said, "now the matter is known to me." From this unfortunate episode we will surely learn a lot!

THANK YOU SHIRAT DEVORAH FOR POSTING RABBI MIZRACHI'S SHIUR UPON RETURN FROM ERETZ YISRAEL. Since I don't Facebook or other social media, only email and my blog, I wasn't aware that the controversial video was just a splice, in order to denigrate a Jew who speaks the Truth. Therefore I have removed the video from this post. And I am replacing it with his most recent shiur, that you also posted. Thank you for being on top of this.

Distortion of Truths by the Media

I have not finished this theme of thoughts but here is what I have so far. This situation is going to drag out ...............

YNet has a new headline now:

A revolt and a king: The ideology behind Jewish terrorism
Jewish terror group believes the State of Israel has no right to exist, and is working to overthrow the government; Arabs, they say, have no place in Israel, and it is therefore permissible to kill (Arabs).

Beyond the headline

is an article that lays out the ISA's court case (in my estimation). They have created such a plausible scenario that all Israelis will believe. Hopefully the trial will not begin under the eyes of Weinstein, but begin in February under the new AG. This is a war of the fittest (those fitted with the truth). The fear of the ISA, the Weinstein Courts, the Defense Minister, and the anti-religious is screaming out at us in just such headlines as this. How can these people continue to warp the meaning embodied in the Zionist mantra. One should read what Wikipedia has captured about Herzl, Zion, Zionism from the beginnings until today, with many many footnotes. What started out with Herzl as a religious return to the Land, became usurped, after Herzl’s death, by the Communists/Socialists, down to today’s anti-religious.

No YNet, I believe you have it wrong.

You are misleading the public and distorting the truth that is contained in the Torah, the only scroll upon which is written the truth. The same Torah given to Moses on Mt Sinai by the G–D of the entire Universe. If, like Pharoah, you don't believe that there is a G-D of the Universe, that's your perogative. However, after 120 years when you stand in front of the Accusing Judges in Shamayim, you will be held accountable. And that is bad news.

The State will not disappear!
The right to exist is in the Torah. Israelites (and only the Israelites) had a First Commonwealth with the First Temple; and the Jews had sovereingty with the Second Temple. What these boys are devoted to is the Third Temple and King Mashiach, instead of a Prime Minister administering (leftist secular ideology) law. There was no other sovereignty over the Land but that of the Israelites/Jews. The more the current Government elected into office [a Right leaning one] enacts laws based on the concepts in the Torah the better will be the life of all Israelis living in Eretz Yisrael, and for the betterment of the entire world.

In Bereshis, Rashi says [on the Land of Israel):
Why start with the words, "In the beginning"? Because "He [G–D] revealed to His people His powerful works, in giving them the heritage of nations" (Ps. 111:6), for lest the other nations of the world say that the Israelites are robbers, having conquered the lands of seven nations (Eretz Yisrael), they can respond that the entire earth belongs to the Holy One, blessed be He, and He created it and gave it to whomever He saw fit, giving it to them or taking it from them and giving it to us, according to His will. (Yalkut Shimoni, Genesis 1:1) [BIU: 936Nehorai]

The Vilna Gaon says and we see this happening today:
"(שיר השירים ב' יב). This verse refers to the period leading up to the final Redemption, called: "קיבוץ גלויות", “the Ingathering of the Exiles”; whereupon the Jewish people return on mass to Eretz Yisrael and begin settling the land and rebuilding Yerushalayim." [This is happening with a full functioning State, albeit before the Redemption.]

The Zohar says: the holy Zohar proclaims,
"G‑d, the Torah, and Israel are one." Israelis need to realize that all the development and beauty of Israel, the blessed rains, and the abundance of fruits and vegetables, are all the Blessings of Hashem. He makes all of this possible when the rest of the world is fighting with each other and in turmoil. Realize we are Blessed.

Kabbalah says:
that our nationality is tied together with a connection to G‑d; it is impossible to separate between the two. "All the Kabbalists and The Book of Zohar predicted that starting from the end of the 19th (1880s) century and the beginning of the 20th, the people of Israel would commence its return to the land of Israel, after two thousand years of exile. They also predicted that at the end of the 20th century the practice of Kabbalah would become commonplace so that the majority of the nation would soon rise to the degree called “the spiritual Land of Israel.”

Arabs can stay as they are supposedly monotheists,
and are NOT TO BE KILLED. The Torah says they will come around to the seeing the truth of the One G–D, the truth of Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yaakov. Yishmael let Yitzchak go ahead of him when they buried their father Avraham, which signaled that he (Yishmael) relented and admitted the truth that Yitzchak was the heir.

Christians that follow the Noahic Covenant (Bnei Noach):
a monotheistic ideology based on the Seven Laws of Noach, and on their traditional interpretations within Rabbinic Judaism. According to Jewish law, non-Jews are not obligated to convert to Judaism, but they are required to observe the Seven Laws of Noah. If they accept and fulfill these commandments with the conviction that YHVH commanded them in the Torah as transmitted by Moses, and are careful to observe them in accordance with the relevant details within the Torah law, they are assured of a place in the World to Come (Olam Haba), the final reward of the righteous.[1][2] (Mishnei Torah)

ADDENDA: Please read what Reb Dov BarLieb from YearsofAwe blog wrote:

"My thought? Evidence is now coming in that they are the Yordei Duma from Hallel. The Dead cannot praise Kah, neither the Yordei Duma. It is in Tehillim 115, the first Psalm in Hallel for the Final Redemption. The first two Psalms in Hallel are for Yetziat Mitzraim (113 and 114). They are sung BEFORE the Seudah at the Pesach Seder. Psalm 115 is the first of four psalms in Hallel for the Final Redemption. The hint of how it will begin is: The Dead cannot praise HaShem, and neither those who go down to Duma. But we will Praise HaShem for now and forever. The classic interpretation is that Duma is the Angel in charge of letting souls into Ge Hinnom. Yet, there is onw problem with this interpretation. The pasuk already says that the Dead will not praise HaShem. Those who go down to Duma therefore must comprise a separate category of people whose "praises will not be heard" at the onset of the Messianic Era. It is noteworthy that in the Shabak torture chambers, most of these kids and young adults were not allowed to keep mitzvot, or even to light Chanukah candles. Plus there has been a bizarre five month long "Gag order" on the case. I wonder if this is what David meant when he wrote that in Psalm 115? Is it a code for the last gasp of suffering of Mashiach's irregular army at the very End?

In Response: GUILTY BY MEDIA NOT COURT!

BACKLASH: Confession Under Torture

Adi Keidar told reporters that "not only were the suspects abused and tortured, it is my suspicions that the prosecutors who submitted the indictment did it under duress."

"I would like to remind you all that for over 40 days our client was accused of being guilty of direct involvement in a murder, and today, after 40 days it was revealed that these accusations had no connection to reality."

"In the written indictment he is not accused of murder at all," Keidar charged. "I think that this is a day of soul searching for the Israel Security Agency (ISA) and for the prosecution. I believe that in the coming days as we learn more about the alleged proofs that have been attained, only then will we know just how great the oversight on the part of ISA has been."

ATTORNEY SPEAKS
Attorney Ben-Geir:  I suggest the Shin Bet not rush to celebrate," he added, noting several different high-profile cases [- the Bus 300 affair, the Amos Baranes affair and even the Bar-Noar shooting] in which "the system did everything to prove a crime even at the price of criminalizing innocent people."

"My clients are innocent, my clients have not confessed to the police! Only through torture did they break during Shin Bet interrogations," Ben-Gvir stressed, noting the abuse the clients underwent made their confessions inadmissible.

PARENTS SPEAK OUT

In a video message, the Ben Ulliel family said: “We the parents of Amiram are shocked and appalled by the news that has been associated to our beloved son."

"We believe in the innocence of our son that will be proven in court, and we hope that the courts will reveal the harsh and violent abuse that he has suffered these past weeks during the interrogation process," the family added. "We want to stress that we are against any and all violence against any person.”

ISRAELIS COMMENT:

The Shabac simply HAD to save face, didn't they? First they grab some hilltop kids without any evidence that these kids did anything wrong. Then they hold them for weeks or months without a hearing, without legal representation, without their parents being able to see them, while torturing them. In the meantime, no evidence is found against these kids. Then these kids, to stop the pain and torture, "confess",  just to end the nightmare. Then the Shabac "has" them and indicts them on the basis of these "confessions" which aren't worth a hill of beans because they were made under extreme duress and torture... The Shabac is building a whole case based on lies, fabrications and frameups, and nothing but. Next thing, after the gag order is lifted, is to fabricate evidence against these kids.

This is a JEWISH STATE. There is no equivalence in the actions of Jewish kids vs. the actions of Arab terrorists! The latter - along with the majority of their very supportive population - have MANY TIMES OVER proven that they are the ENEMY! There is no proof that these kids were involved in the Duma affair, none whatsoever! I appreciate the Shabac when it does the job it's meant to do, which is kill or jail Arab terrorists. Even if these kids did do wrong, this whole situation would not have happened if the Prime Minister and governments handled this hostile minority they way they should. NO Israeli government since 1948 has done the right thing when it comes to the Arabs. Let any Arab who does not accept Jewish sovereignty over the Land of Israel - leave willingly to any Arab country he wishes, or any other country! We should PAY them to leave, but leave THEY MUST! These Jewish kids aren't the enemy, they want a Torah State, and in that Torah State the only gentiles who will be allowed to live in it will be Noahides! THIS WILL BE, regardless of what you or anyone else thinks. In addition, these kids - along with the rest of the Jewish population here - are sick and tired of being sitting ducks for Arab terrorists. I'm not advocating it necessarily, but that's why some of these kids take the law into their own hands. Wipe them out??? WIPE OUT ARAB TERRORISTS, the enemies of the JEWISH State!

‘Solid Evidence Versus Confessions’
There’s no question in my mind that deadly arson is a major crime, and the perpetrators needs to be brought to justice. What does bother me is how justice will be played out? It has already become subject to a media drama, and no doubt diplomatic as well as professional integrity will also be hanging in suspense awaiting the due process of law. Due to the immense need to maintain a healthy balance within Israeli society, truth, and only truth can prevail. In my layman’s opinion, the case must rest more on solid evidence that can be corroborated from external sources, rather [than] mere confessions of self-implication, which under the circumstances of that prolonged detainment could be justifiably regarded with doubt. Meanwhile, we can expect all the vicious radical sectors of Israeli society to fan the flames of additional hatred, probably equal to whoever caused the initial arson in Duma. Only one victor can emerge and that is a just, justice.

How come the indictments were filed with such detail. This is not justice or truth. They should have been charged with the offence and then the case presented in open court not a publicity stunt for the media and the left to gloat over. It is time for Israel to have a jury system so that it is not for judges alone to dispense justice.

–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

THE REAL TERRORISTS: Israelis say sense of security lost as near-daily attacks persist Poll finds 61% say level of safety has been harmed, while 71% express dissatisfaction at government response to violence

IN THE END THE HIGH COURT WILL GO AWAY: Yes, in the end the High Court will go away to a place where it can no longer harm the Jewish people, the Torah, and the land of Israel. It will happen when the Jewish majority in Israel vomits it out and decides to establish a court with different, more appropriate values. It will happen because the current court has established its own values that we simply cannot live by. KolHaYehudi

GOVT ENDANGERS JEWS BY CONFISCATING GUNS OF JEWS: While the wedding video of Jews dancing with guns is being used to paint a certain picture, the truth is rather more complicated. In truth, the police often deny the requests of Jewish settlers to receive gun permits and thereby endanger Jewish lives. KolHaYehudi

LIGHT vs DARKNESS:  "There is an attempt to erase our Jewish roots and it will not succeed. The same will happen with the Attorney General, who will step down within a few days, and [the new one] will come and balance the Jewish roots in the courts, which until now have been controlled by the elites in an undemocratic fashion," Habayitah

"It hardly makes sense on its face that Israel has any “Jewish Division” at all, especially in its Security Service. In this sense it IS acting like “any other country” —one that is just as much against Jews as any other. Those of us closer to the action feel sick, much as the people prophesied about in Jeremiah 30:6, with yerakon, green sickness. Right after that, in verse 7, it says "...it will be a time of trouble for Yaaqov, but he will be saved from it." I love my country, I hate the government's behavior

RETURN OF THE KING: Israel is facing a grave "king" crisis. Never mind the Muslim terrorists stabbing, slashing and shooting any Jews in range. The real threat was uncovered by Shabak's Jewish section, a gang of Jewish youths had plotted to "appoint a king". It's a lucky thing that Shabak had prevented the "return of the king" through the usual measures of planting informants and torturing detainees. SultanKnish

Light vs. Darkness

MK Motti Yogev [...] stresses that the government will promote Israel's Jewish roots.

'Some' Light at the End of the Long Dark Tunnel

"They tried for years to highlight the democratic side and hide our Jewish roots,” said Yogev, noting that the previous civics textbook “did not include one word about Judaism. So Minister Bennett did well by deciding to balance things and add Jewish content."

"That’s the nature of democracy; majority rules and the majority is nationalist. It’s true that the left still dominates academia and universities, as we saw this week in the harsh statements made by professors at the Hebrew University, and if it was the opposite they would have been fired long ago. There is an attempt to erase our Jewish roots and it will not succeed. The same will happen with the Attorney General, who will step down within a few days, and [the new one] will come and balance the Jewish roots in the courts, which until now have been controlled by the elites in an undemocratic fashion," he concluded.

Ideology of Light

First Person Account: "The wife of the suspect came running out of the hearing, quickly scooped up her baby daughter who was being looked after by a good friend, and ran back inside with her. A few hours later, in the couple's small apartment in an ultra-Orthodox neighborhood of Jerusalem, she said in her quiet voice that after she asked the judge, he allowed her to bring her daughter in for a few moments so she could see her father.

"He's very close to her, very involved in her upbringing," she said. "He plays with her, tells her stories, spends a lot of time with her. Everyone in the courtroom became very emotional when he held onto her tightly, and hugged and kissed her."

"That the land of Israel belongs to the people of Israel by divine command. So when I take a hilltop and settle on it, I bring a table, a few chairs, I build a small hut or put up a tent. That fulfills a command. I'm allowed to be there, to hold onto it, because it's ours. The 'hilltop youth' don't want to live in established settlements, behind fences, one on top of another. We break ground, break borders. It's a matter of faith. That's why I was there from the age of 13."

"My husband has known Meir for many years," she says. "They are absolutely friends." The ideology is the same one.

"Yes, we want a state based on Jewish law here, and a king as written in the Torah. But we are not anarchists, without a care. We aren't against the law, neither me nor my husband. We don't do whatever we feel like, burning and attacking people. What happened in Duma is a serious incident and I'm against it."

Hiding in the Darkness

Jewish suspects in the case were tortured under the express authorization of Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein, Haaretz reported. PM was only notified after the fact. "In response to the Haaretz report, the Justice Ministry issued a statement that said “decisions on the methods of interrogation were made by the head of the Shin Bet… with the oversight of the most senior officials in the Justice Ministry, including the attorney general.”

I am not a regular reader of Martin Sherman; however, it caught my eye this morning and should be read by everyone.

SPOTLIGHT: Martin Sherman's (partial) Analysis in JPost:

I have no idea who set the Dawabsha family’s home ablaze. But neither, so it would seem, has the Israeli authorities – from the state prosecution, through the police force to the internal security services.

For this to be a plausible scenario, what we would have to accept? We would have to believe that these youths – apparently minors or barely out of their teens – without any special forces training, managed to –

(a) infiltrate, undetected, the center of a hostile village;

(b) execute a presumably noisy arson attack on two buildings (one uninhabited);
(c) brazenly spray a large Hebrew slogan on one of the walls of the targeted structures; and
(d) then, make a phantom-like escape, egressing the village without a trace, never mind without being apprehended, without leaving any trail or clue to indicate where they had vanished to.

The houses burned [in Duma]
aren’t in the outskirts of the town
where it is easy to make a getaway.
– Amira Hass, Haaretz, July 31

Really? All this, apparently, without any back-up contingent, standing by to extricate them, should they be discovered and set upon (read “lynched”) by the inhabitants of the village?

If that is not implausible enough, consider this. Having committed the dastardly deed, these youthful renegade radicals, who presumably have not been extensively schooled in the tradecraft of clandestine activity, apparently have the iron discipline not to let slip the vaguest hint of what they had perpetrated. No boastful bravado, no indiscreet phone call in a moment of weakness – only sphinx-like silence for months on end, while the county’s entire law enforcement apparatus, together with the formidable internal security services, was hunting them.

For months the law enforcement agencies, with all the measures at their disposal – covert surveillance, phone tapping, insertion of undercover agents, enlistment of group members to become informers (either willingly, by positive persuasion or unwillingly, under duress) – could not come up with any incriminating evidence.
