[...] Always keep before your eyes the words of the Gemara in Tractate Yoma (86a) regarding the commandment "And you shall love the Lord your God": that the Name of Heaven should become beloved through you. This is achieved by studying Scripture and Mishnah, serving Torah scholars, and conducting one’s business dealings gently and pleasantly with others. What do people say about such a person? "Fortunate is the father who taught him Torah; fortunate is the teacher who taught him Torah. Woe to those who have not studied Torah—look at this man who has studied Torah; see how pleasant his ways are, how refined his deeds."
But above all, strengthen yourselves—within your own hearts and within the community—and strengthen one another. Thank God, all members of the community are distinguished Torah scholars, God-fearing and sin-fearing individuals. Always hold fast to the legacy you received in the Yeshiva; everything is built upon a single foundation: love, brotherhood, peace, and friendship—standing together, even when there are differences of opinion. This is the tradition, and this is how we must continue; it is the foundation and root of all that is good. Everything is built upon this, and it benefits every aspect of life—relationships between man and God, between man and his fellow, and between a person and himself. Everything rests on the existence of love, brotherhood, peace, and friendship. There may be differences of opinion—one person says this, another says that, and one can debate and argue seriously—but the fundamental basis is remaining together as one united group. This is the tradition; this is how you shall continue, passing it on to your children after you. This is the foundation—love, brotherhood, peace, and friendship constitute the basis.
I have heard that my friend, the synagogue’s rabbi—the brilliant scholar Rabbi Zvi, *shlita*—has urged the congregation to study the laws governing the synagogue. While the Rabbi requires no formal endorsement, it is absolutely clear that we must strengthen our observance in this regard—upholding the laws concerning the sanctity and honor of the synagogue, down to their finest details and nuances.
May the Almighty assist us—along with the multitudes of the House of Israel—in averting all harsh decrees. The entire Torah world currently faces a fateful, existential struggle; this is no ordinary battle—it is a battle for the Torah itself! It is a battle for those who study the Torah! We must not treat this matter lightly. May it be His will that we merit Divine assistance, enabling us to continue our in-depth study with even greater intensity—fully immersed and engaged in our learning, rather than merely skimming the surface.
May the Lord our God bestow upon us the blessings of His appointed festivals—blessings of life and peace. May we soon merit the coming of our righteous Messiah and the rebuilding of the Holy Temple in our time; there, we shall ascend, appear, and bow down during the three pilgrimage festivals, offering our obligatory sacrifices—the *Tamid* offerings in their proper order and the *Mussaf* offerings in accordance with the law. Amen.
