What Everyone Missed About ELUL

 

What if everything you thought you knew about Elul and teshuva was missing the point? More than 3,300 years ago, Moshe Rabbeinu ascended Har Sinai for the final 40 days after the sin of the Golden Calf. Those 40 days, beginning with Elul and ending on Yom Kippur, became days of mercy, forgiveness, and return. But teshuva is much bigger than simply erasing the past.
