Smart Dust [all that stuff that floats via open windows into your home? And all those sand particles here in the Middle East?
NO!
What is Smart Dust?
The system involves tiny MEMS devices, sometimes called motes, which are microscopic sensors roughly the size of a grain of sand. These devices can be airborne or carried by a user and are capable of collecting a wide range of sensor data, including:
Biometric data: heart rate, body temperature, blood pressure, facial and body recognition, voice, and fingerprints
Environmental data: motion, optical, audio, temperature, and pressure readings
The collected data is transmitted to a base station device, which compares it to a user profile to verify the identity of the person making a payment. Once authenticated, the system can authorize mobile or credit card payments without requiring a physical card or PIN
