While many claim to care about indigenous people, their silence on the Kurdish struggle is deafening. The Kurds are the largest indigenous ethnicity in the world today without an independent homeland of their own. For over a century, their ancestral lands—nestled between the Zagros and Taurus Mountains—have been sliced up and divided between Turkey, Iran, Syria, and Iraq.
