Rabbi Weissman: When Reckless Endangerment Is Excused

When Reckless Endangerment Is Excused

And the master plan for Gaza is revealed, two years late

In part 44 of The Prophetic Teachings of Rav Elchonon Wasserman we began the abridged version of his essay “Ikvesa D’Mishicha”, the footsteps of Moshiach. Among the many points we discussed was why we must be in a state of helplessness before redemption, what that means, and how to arrive at that necessary state in the best way possible.

As a free bonus, we also saw a sharp comment from Rav Wasserman on the one thing a true Zionist will never do. (If you guessed “protect us from another Holocaust” you get zero points.)

The recording is embedded above and on Rumble here. This is the second to last class in our series, which we will conclude on Monday.

There is a great deal of compelling information there, yet it is still just the tip of the iceberg. The enormity of the betrayal is almost unfathomable — which is why so many people refuse to fathom it.

Those who react in a cavalier, dismissive, condescending fashion are not doing so because they made a rational, intellectually honest assessment that the evidence is not compelling. They do so because it would shatter a worldview they insist on maintaining, and the implications are devastating for them. It would rip them apart. Hence, no amount of evidence or reason will be sufficient for them.

Idolatry is a terrible disease.

On that note:

Many people have argued that “Charedi” parents and rabbis should be harshly punished for their teenaged children being in the vicinity of protests, which have resulted in injuries and death.

Many people are demanding swift and harsh punishment for those who recklessly endangered children at Charedi daycare programs.

Leaving the validity of this position aside for the moment, I need those who take this position to answer the following:

Why did you not demand that all those responsible for keeping you safe on October 7 be swiftly arrested and harshly punished? Why do you still not demand it?

Why did you not demand that all those responsible for protecting soldiers be held accountable for the thousands who have been maimed and killed in the most bizarre and inexcusable ways? Why do you continue to entrust yourselves and your children to them? Is that not reckless endangerment on a much larger scale?

Why do you so quickly and passionately condemn Charedim who are irresponsible, yet you bend over backwards to rationalize despicable, soulless people who send your children into death traps for no justifiable reason?

Why do you hate Charedim for being reckless with their children’s lives, yet you support the IDF and the state no matter how reckless they are with your children’s lives?

These are reasonable questions, and they deserve a serious, thoughtful response. Please explain.

A reader comments:

Looks like you were right about Gaza war being “Pinui Binui” for America. Jared Kushner has unveiled a plan for the New Gaza.

What’s even more interesting is what another reader forwarded me. They let it slip that they had this “master plan” more than two years ago…before October 7.

Kind of like they had all those Covid kits ready to go just in time for that totally unplanned pandemic.

Can we finally put the “intelligence failure” and “leftist plot to bring down Bibi” nonsense to rest once and for all?

And that this ever was, and continues to be, a milchemes mitzvah?

And that IDF soldiers were decimated by the thousands to keep us safe?

And that “serving” is the highest religious and moral duty?

Or do you need more lessons?

How many more lessons can you afford?.
