Hard To Believe . . .

State in plea bargain talks with teen accomplice in Duma terror attack
Agreement would see suspect admit to planning firebombing that killed 3 members of Dawabsha family in exchange for a conviction on reduced offenses

[This sounds like a maneuver from the Müeller (Fake Russian) Investigations.
Can they be trusted??]

No such deal is currently on the table for Amiram Ben-Uliel, the primary suspect charged with carrying out the firebombing. According to the indictment, Ben-Uliel planned the attack with the younger suspect, who for unknown reasons did not make it to the rendezvous point on the night of the firebombing.

Saad and Riham Dawabsha, with baby Ali. All three died when the Dawabsha home in the West Bank village of Duma was firebombed, by suspected Jewish extremists, on July 31, 2015.  The younger suspect’s lawyer said that plea bargain talks were being held but that the sides had yet to reach an agreement. A spokesman for the State Prosecutor’s Office declined to comment on the record. timesofisrael

I find it very hard to believe that a young Jewish boy would do such a thing; while it is known that there was inter-tribal feuding going on; and even after this event, there was another feudal attack on a member of this Arab family. A substantial NIS reward should have been made for someone to come forward (in secrecy) about this family and why such a thing was done.

Duma: 72% of Religious Zionists don't believe Shabak's version

'The public does not believe Shabak. The public is intelligent and understands that there are more holes than cheese in the Duma file.'
A recent poll conducted by the Religious Zionist sector reveals that the majority of the public doesn't believe Shabak (Israel Security Agency) or the State Prosecutor's Office regarding their version of the Duma affair which took place in an Arab village in July 2015.

The first question was: "In your personal assessment, is the Shabak version of the Duma affair factually true?"

72.2% of respondents said that in their opinion the Shabak version of the Duma incident does not reflect the factual truth versus only 27.8% who responded that Shabak's version is factually true. Only 10% believe Shabak's version is highly likely to be factually true.

The second question was: "Do you believe that the main suspect in the affair, Amiram Ben Uliel, really killed the Dawabsha family?"

Only 1.5% of the respondents said that Ben Uliel definitely committed the Duma incident. 9.9% of respondents said that he very likely committed it. More than 56% replied that there was only a low probability that Ben Uriel was the one who carried out the incident or that it was definitely not him, and about 30% replied that he might have committed the incident.

"The public does not believe Shabak," said Shmuel (Zengi) Meidad, the director of the Honenu organization. "The public is intelligent and understands that there are more holes than cheese in the Duma file."

"The confessions extracted from the defendants during interrogations while undergoing horrific torture by the Shabak and the police aren't worth anything. The indictment contradicts all eyewitness testimonies. We hope that if the State Prosecutor's Office does not come to its senses to cancel this delusional indictment, as it recently did with the charges of the youths interrogated in the Akko (Acre) prison and other cases, the court will acquit the defendants as it did in many national cases."

We're right before the elections, and this is an excellent opportunity for all the politicians who were partners in the disgrace of the Duma affair to apologize and repent before asking for the public trust once again," Meidad concluded.

Life Makes No Sense Without Torah – Parshas Tazria/Hachodesh/Rosh Chodesh NissAn

Parshas Tazria/Hachodesh/Rosh Chodesh NissAn
LIFE MAKES NO SENSE WITHOUT TORAH
By Roy S. Neuberger

The Gemora in Sanhedrin discusses the generation before Moshiach. “It was taught in a Baraisa: Rabbi Nechemia says: [In] the generation when the son of David will come, insolence will increase; honor will dwindle; the vine will produce its fruit, yet wine will be expensive; the entire kingdom will turn to heresy and there will be no rebuke.” (Sanhedrin 97a)

The Gemora discusses the phrase “the entire kingdom will turn to heresy.” I had assumed that this refers to a Jewish government in the Holy Land, but Artscroll quotes the Sefer Meleches Shlomo, which says “the entire kingdom” refers to “the world’s dominant power,” which will be “drawn after the false beliefs of the heretics.” However this is interpreted, the Gemora portrays a world in which beliefs which challenge the Ribono shel Olam become extremely powerful.

“Rava said: What …verse [supports this]? ‘All of it has turned white; it is pure.” (Vayikra 13:13) This verse is found in ourParsha, and it refers to tzara’as. The complete verse reads, “The Kohain shall look, and behold, the affliction has covered his entire flesh. Then he shall declare the affliction to be pure, having turned completely white; it is pure.”

The entire subject of tzara’as is counter-intuitive. Tzaraas is a physical affliction, but the diagnosis and treatment are prescribed by a kohain, not a doctor. This particular possuk is one of the most puzzling: if the entire body is afflicted, why is the patient is “tahor … pure?” One would think the opposite.

My friends, life makes absolutely no sense unless we absorb Torah into our neshoma.

As it is with tzara’as, so it is with the sickness of the world. Rava is telling us that, when the world reaches a point at which moral sickness appears to “cover the entire body,” then we can expect to see “purity,” which means that we should expectMoshiach ben Dovid.

This ties in with Pesach. In Mitzraim, Bnai Yisroel came within a hair’s breadth of total assimilation into the idolatrous culture of Mitzraim. As we know, our ancestors stood at “mem tes sha’are tumah … the forty-ninth level of impurity.” From there, it was either one madreiga down into eternal oblivion – G-d forbid! – or the road upward to Har Sinai. As it was, at least four-fifths of Bnai Yisroel were indeed lost in Mitzraim (see Rashi to Shemos 10:22 & 13:18). But those who awakened left with Moshe Rabbeinu to meet Hashem.

With regard to the spiritual condition of the entire world, “We must know that … Am Yisroel to the nations of the world is like the heart to the [other] organs…” (Sefer Chevlei Moshiach, by Rabbi Yisroel Eliezer Kanarek, quoting the Zohar and the Kuzari). We pump Life into the world. It is all up to us. At this moment when all systems are nearing collapse, this is an indication that we are close to the Geulah Shelemah. This is also the message of Zman Chairusainu, which we are entering at this moment.

“Wake up! Wake up!” (Lecha Dodi) The fate of the world is in our hands. If we take our job seriously, then we will soon see the day “Ki mi Tzion taitzai Torah … when Torah goes forth from Tzion and the Word of G-d from Yerushalayim!”

Rabbi Winston — Parshas Tazria

If a person has upon his skin a white blotch, discoloration or spot and it is suspected of being a mark of the tzara’as affliction upon his skin, he shall be brought to Aharon Ha-Kohen, or one of his children the kohanim. (Vayikra 13:2)

THE KOHEN STUDIED Michah’s arm with great seriousness, and said, “Tzara’as of the skin is evaluated on the basis of three symptoms, and any one of them indicates that the tzara’as is advanced. One is a discoloration of the hair in the affected area, from the natural color to white.”
Michah looked at the white blotch on his arm. He felt VERY uneasy, even humiliated.
He had been warned. “You’re speaking loshon hara!” his friend Osniel had told him, “and I want no part of it!”
But the yetzer hara is powerful, and in some people overwhelming. Michah had a difficult time controlling his tongue, and an even more difficult time admitting when he hadn’t.
“No I’m not!” he barked back. “I have a good REASON to say what I’m saying!”
“So did Miriam!” Osniel retorted, “and see what happened to her! White as snow! We’re not told to remember what happened to her for no reason!”
Michah scrunched his face, recalling the episode with Moshe’s sister, but still reluctant to give in.
“And you can’t get much more l’Shem Shamayim than Moshe Rabbeinu!” Osniel continued. “He also was given tzara’as for what he said about the Jewish people!”
Now Michah looked away, defiant. He had a difficult time admitting he was wrong, his own undoing. There would come a time in history after the temples had been destroyed, and the Jewish people were exiled to distant lands, when a person could delude themselves as Michah now did. Divine Providence would become covert, making it possible for people to miss the Divine point of their suffering.
“Hmm,” the kohen said, having difficulty finding enough signs to confirm that Michah indeed had tzara’as.
“What do you think?” Michah asked, a slight tremble in his voice, clearly humbled by the incident.
“Well,” the kohen explained, “had your lesion met the criteria of tzara’as, I would have had to declare you tamei right now. But it doesn’t…”
“So I’m okay?” a prematurely excited Michah asked.
“Not really,” the kohen answered him. “I have to confine you to your home for seven days…”
“You mean I can’t go out of my house for SEVEN days?”
“That’s right,” the kohen answered him, “or have visitors.”
“Ouch!” Michah said, considering all the ramifications of his new status.
“It hurts, doesn’t it?” the kohen asked him.
“It certainly does!” Michah answered.
“Well, imagine the impact of your loshon hara on the person you spoke about…and in the spiritual realms above!”
Michah could only look at the ground and feel a sense of shame. “You can fool some of the people some of the time,” he thought to himself, “but God NONE of the time!” as his tzara’as made eminently clear.
The kohen could see that Michah was finally getting it. “I’ll be back in seven days to check on you again…to see if you actually have tzara’as.”
“What will you be looking for?”
“For one, to see if it spread in the meantime.”
“And if it hasn’t?” Michah asked, a little hopeful.
“Well,” the kohen answered him. “There is a difference in protocol depending of the type of lesion. For example, for patches of the skin, another confinement period of seven days is necessary.”
“ANOTHER SEVEN DAYS?!”
“Thats right,” he said, “And for boils or burns, a kohen declares it merely a tzareves…”
“A tzareves?” Michah asked. “What’s that?”
“It’s a scar. If it’s only a scar, then there are no further examinations, but for bald patches or lesions of the scalp or beard, another confinement period of seven days is also necessary. However prior to this second confinement period, the individual is shaved around the ‘nesek,’ leaving a rim of two hairs completely surrounding the bald spot to make any spreading visible.”
Michah’s face dropped with the thought of having to endure another seven days locked away in his house. He would be cut off from the world he loved to be a part of.
“After the second confinement period of seven days,” the kohen continued, “both those with patches on the skin as well as those with bald patches are re-evaluated once more. If the criteria for tzara’as have still not been met, then the person is declared pure. All they have to do is wash their body and garments. Having been confined, they are considered to have been impure, in some sense.”
Michah considered all that he heard. “That’s a lot of details,” he said to the kohen.
“More than you know and have discussed,” he told Michah. “Tzara’as is serious business, because loshon hara is serious business.”
Michah thought about his friend, Osniel’s warning, and how he had downplayed it. Now he was paying the price. “What was I thinking?” he asked himself. “Why did I take the risk?”
“My work here is done,” the kohen said. He gave Michah a few final instructions before leaving.
“Thank you for coming by,” he said, contrite. “I promise I will try and control what I say for now on!”
The kohen smiled, and said. “That’s good. But it’s not me you have to make that promise to. It’s God, and yourself.”
“I suppose,” he said.
The kohen left, and Michah closed the door on the world he would not be a part of for seven days. Would he ever live down the embarrassment? To take a step in the right direction, he took out a scroll of Tehillim his grandfather had left him, and began reciting. He prayed to God to help him in the future, every now and then looking at the blotch on his arm to see if it was gone to spare him any additional pain, and be the cause of more.

BOOK SHOWCASE
Insights from the Weekly Torah Reading in Discussion

A PICTURE IS still worth a 1,000 words, or something like that, and little paints a picture better than dialogue. This is the idea behind the “In Discussion” series of books on the weekly parsha.
To date, Bereishis, Shemos, and now Bamidbar, have been completed and are available in Softcover, Kindle, and PDF versions. Vayikra is in progress and, b”H, Devarim will be ready ahead of the time we read it.
Bereishis uses different stories and people to bring out and make real certain key points from each parsha. Shemos follows the departure from and return to Torah of a young man, and each parsha is key to his “awakening.” Bamidbar is the story of a boy on a quest to find his own way in Torah, and the weekly parshios are “camps” along his journey.
Learning is about a lot more than just hearing ideas. We have to experience them as well, and the more senses used in the learning process, the greater and more long-lasting the impact the material will have on us. “In Discussion” is meant to be more than just a LEARNING experience. It is also a LIVING experience, and judging from the feedback to date, b”H, readers have felt the same way.
The Softcover ($14.95) and Kindle ($3.99) versions are available through Amazon. The PDF ($5.95) can be purchased through the thirtysix.org online store.

Zachary and his Tzitzit Returned to Eretz haKodesh (Zechariah)

Zachary Baumel (and Tzitzit) to Israel — returned home for proper burial.

Israel announced Wednesday the body of Brooklyn-born IDF Sgt. 1st Class Zachary Baumel, a tank commander who went missing in action in the 1982 First Lebanon War after having been captured during the Battle of Sultan Yacoub in the Bekaa Valley, has been returned home for proper burial.

IDF Spokesperson Jonathan Conricus said the body was returned through a “secret intelligence operation” but declined to provide details on how his remains were retrieved.

“Zachary’s bones which were brought to Israel were positively identified,” said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a statement Wednesday evening. “With them were also found his tank jump-suit and his tzitzit. Soon Zachary will be brought to his eternal resting place with a Jewish burial.

The above is the main headline in Israel today, despite the fact that we are only days away from a very hotly contested election.

The story made me think of a few things;

If this had been the US or any other country, would the fact that the remains of a soldier brought home after thirty-seven years been an item that causes an entire country to drop everything and unite in an outpouring of relief and pride, along with a tear?

Would it have immediately shoved all else from the front pages?

I don't believe so. Is there another place anywhere where a few bones can produce instant unity and emotion as it does in our little Jewish country.

Zacharia's father passed away ten years ago after spending twenty-seven years traveling world in search of some stone that has not been turned for his son. He died tragically not knowing that there was indeed a stone out there that only the combined assets of Israel's intelligence/military finally uncovered after so long. His memory is also alive in Israel.

Zacharia's parents brought him to Israel from the comfort and security of the USA to bring living to a higher level and meaning.

Zacharia was happy and flourished in the Jewish homeland... and then ultimately gave his life for it.

Should his parents have not left the USA for embattled Israel knowing that there is a theoretical chance that serving in the Jewish army means being exposed to the Jews' enemies.?

I too made the choice that Zecharia's parent did.

I too served in the IDF. I too could have been called to my maker in the process.

I too would have been found with my Tzitsis.

Worse, the same is true for my sons.

What thoughts run through my head?

Regrets, fear, guilt, anger..?

Tzitit. This small item made a huge impact on me.

This is the difference between just defending one's country and something higher yet.

Rabbi Akiva and Bar Cochba were killed by the enemy in the land of Israel - with their tzitsis. The same is true for those in the army of King David and Joshua.

That is how Jews lived and died - as Jews fighting for a Jewish land.

Do we consider their sacrifice a mistake or senseless?

Tragically, in the diaspora, many Jews fought and died for foreign countries, often fighting on either side of the trenches while suffering from anti-Semitism in their own trench.

The rebirth of our Jewish country ended that painful anomaly.

Young soldiers tragically give their lives for their countries in many places. This is unbroken history.

Dear Zacharia died in a Jewish uniform fighting for his people against the enemy of his people. In historical terms, this is a revolutionary concept. Still, every Jewish soul is an entire world and never just a statistic.

The leadership of Israel, in the IDF and elsewhere must memorize the words of General Patton to his troops; "I don't want you to die for your country, I want you to make the bastards on the other side die for theirs."

Sadly, the very unJewish rules of engagement that Israeli soldiers are bound to (pun intended) cost precious lives.

Former IDF chief and current candidate for Prime Minister, Benny Ganz said, "I prefer to endanger my troops rather than the lives of enemy civilians. That is the moral choice"

That's no Patton, or King David or Joshua, and it is not at all Jewish.

How dare he!

But this well reflects what is so very wrong today amongst the " moral elites".

As a parent, I would have to ask myself if I have the right to send my son to this army - Jewish or not.

What a tragic situation for a Jewish parent and the Jewish people!

This insanity must change and I believe it will. The days of the Ganzes and the very non-Jewish thinking elites are numbered. ( It is not just the "Left" that is infected with this amoral, non-Jewish thinking. Bibi freed thousands of terrorist killers. Over a hundred Jews have already been killed by them. Bibi's response to Hamas murder is striking at empty structures and paying millions to them in protection money..)

This is looking increasingly crazy to more Israelis

This election, I believe will be part of the slow process of turning the insanity around.

Rabbi Kahana – How Does One Replace The Irreplaceable?

BS”D
Parashat Tazria 5779
Rabbi Nachman Kahana

How does one replace the irreplaceable?

Parashat Shemini closes with the dietary laws, stating specifically those species of animal life which may be eaten, and parashat Tazriah opens with the halachic ramifications (laws) for a woman who has given birth to a child.
Rashi explains that the Torah did this in ascending halachic order of kedusha (sanctity) from the humble animal world to the privileged status of a Jewish person.
We will return to this be”H (with the help of HaShem).
Last Shabbat, parashat Shemini, my attention was drawn to two specific personalities: Aharon HaKohen in the parasha, and Yehoshua bin Nun whose yartzeit (date of death) fell on that day. Although the specific crises facing these holy people were entirely different, both were made to bear profound burdens which would have undone lesser men.
Aharon HaKohen had just lost two of his oldest and most competent sons while they were serving God in the Mishkan (Tabernacle). Yet he was commanded by HaShem to complete his tasks despite his profound personal tragedy.
The Torah describes Aharon’s irreconcilable personal trauma in two thunderous words “Va’yiedom Aharon” – And Aharon was silent.
Yehoshua bin Nun was commanded by HaShem to fulfill an impossible mission: he was to follow Moshe Rabbeinu as the leader of the Jewish people.
How does one replace the irreplaceable?
How can Yehoshua direct the elders who are whispering behind his back, “The face of Moshe was like the sun, the face of Yehoshua is like the moon”?
How can Yehoshua assume halachic authority when the Torah is called ‘Torat Moshe’ (the Torah of Moshe)?
How can he lead the people of Israel into the land so holy that even the illustrious Moshe did not merit to enter? And will the army of Israel do battle with forces many times mightier than they at the command of Yehoshua?
Yehoshua was so discouraged, that twice in chapter one of the Book of Yehoshua, Hashem sees the need to encourage him with the call to be strong and brave of heart.
Where did Aharon and Yehoshua find the inner strength to overcome their great burdens, and complete their tasks?
They transcended their individual, emotional limitations caused by sadness and pain, feelings of inferiority and mortality, by realizing that they were the instruments of Hashem – and instruments do not cry.
Aharon had to discharge the service that was intended to complete what was only begun during the six days of creation – to connect the metaphysical, spiritual universe with the lowly physical world through the “umbilical cord” of Torah and mitzvot within the holy womb of Eretz Yisrael.
Yehoshua was no longer just the loyal student and attaché of the great leader. His self-image had to change. He was propelled into a role which he never dreamt could occur – to replace the irreplaceable, to advance from being led and to assume the role of leader. He was no longer the son of Nun, he was now the father of the nation. No longer a pawn in the many pieces of HaShem’s nation, but the instrument of HaShem to replace the glorious instrument which had become broken and left behind in a valley near the Mountain of Nevo.
In Eretz Yisrael, the 27th of Nissan is set aside as the national day of remembrance of the victims and the murderers of the Shoah.
At the close of the Second World War, the Jewish people found themselves at the nadir of our history. When the truth of what had befallen our people became apparent, that one third of our nation was murdered, a profound sense of despair and demoralization descended upon our people. Many Jews sought escape from the fact of that they were born Jewish, in shame and embarrassment. “Where was God?” was the question most asked. But the rabbis had no answers. One answer surely is “Where was man?”
HaShem, in His infinite wisdom, caused us to rise above our self-pity and national depression to become instruments in His world plan. The Jewish people were mobilized to do the impossible – to recreate a national home in our ancient land for the millions of Jews who were to turn their backs on the galut [exile] and return home. There was no time for self-pity. There were hundreds of thousands of survivors languishing in the camps of Europe, and anti-Semitism was being unleashed against the Jews in many Arab and Moslem lands. A State had to be carved out from the mountain of rocks and in the barren sands of the Negev. His Royal Majesty’s mandate over Palestine was in effect, and the Royal Navy blockaded the coasts in order to prevent the threat of the broken bodies and spirits of Jews who thirsted to feel the holy land under their feet. Arabs murdered Jews at will in Eretz Yisrael, in the best case with the apathetic indifference of His Majesty’s soldiers, and in most cases with their active weapons support and logistical help.
In these circumstances no thinking, breathing, feeling Jew could wallow in the luxury of self-pity. The instruments of HaShem were put to work.
The British were expelled from the land. The Arab marauders were held at bay and the seven Arab armies which invaded the emerging Jewish State were miraculously driven back. Millions of Jews were absorbed into society and the “image of God” was restored to them.
Again, the knowledge that we were the instruments of HaShem allowed the Jews of Eretz Yisrael an achievement of the impossible – to return home after 2000 years of varying degrees of Shoah.
Today, we are again facing challenges which would bring lesser nations to their knees. We are being threatened – almost daily – by Hitler’s evil heir in Tehran, while the world lazily yawns. The nation of Yisrael, numbering less than six million Jews, is being pitted against a world that echoes the words of Canada’s PM Mackenzie King when asked after the Second World War how many Jewish survivors he would let into the country, he responded “None is too many”.
On this background, the Jews of Eretz Yisrael will again be called to serve as the instruments of HaShem by rising above our parochial tzarot (problems) in His service.
As stated by Rashi in his commentary on this week’s parasha, the sequence of God’s Torah as the blueprint for the world is first to deal with the animal elements in nature, followed by the halachic laws for the Jewish nation. So, too, in human affairs. The animalistic drives of men will have to be dealt with first and only then will the world be ready to receive the holy teachings of the Torah.
There is yet much to be done before the completion of HaShem’s plan, which began on the six days of creation. The secret of our strength is the knowledge that we are HaShem’s instruments in that completion.

Shabbat Shalom,
Nachman Kahana

Jews worried as Quebec moves to ban religious items on public workers

Is There An Anti-Semite Working at NYC Housing Authority?
This is simply shocking. On the NYC Housing Authority website, there is an application for HPD’s “Compliance package”. There is a question which states “Please identify the ethnicity of the majority ownership of the filing entity”.

The choices are: White, Black, Hispanic, Asian, Native America, Hasidic Jew, and Not Applicable.

Where are all the politicians in NYC to question this blatant anti-Semitism? They must be too busy condemning Councilman Kalman Yeger for rightfully stating that there is no country on earth called “Palestine”, and for rightfully calling Rep. Ilhan Omar – an anti-Semite. theyeshivaworld

HATE IN OKC: ‘Gas The Jews’ Graffiti at the Oklahoma Democratic Party Office
Racist and anti-Semitic graffiti as well as anti-LGBTQ epithets were spray painted on the front door, walkway and other areas outside the state Democratic Party headquarters in Oklahoma City, said former Democratic Gov. David Walters, who owns the building with his wife, Rhonda. Swastikas were also spray-painted onto the doors. The building houses other tenants, but Anna Langthorn, executive director of the Oklahoma Democratic Party, said she believes the graffiti targeted the party. “It does specifically say Democrats and has an arrow pointed at the door,” she said. New York Police Department reported
last year anti-Semitic hate crimes in the city were up 25 percent over 2017.
Recent incidents included the smashing of the front window of a synagogue in Bushwick, Brooklyn (prompting the city to increase security for Jewish houses of worship), the kicking a of a stroller pushed by a Jewish woman, a number of beatings, and several incidents of vandalism and arson.

ADL Rosemberg said that he receives an average of 23 complaints a week, not all of which end up being categorized as anti-Semitic or racist incidents. After receiving a complaint, his team investigates to determine if the incident rises to the level of a hate crime. The ADL also proactively monitors the media to spot incidents, often contacting the NYPD to check if they heard about a specific occurrence. In the case of Brooklyn, which has “seen a marked increase in assaults,” Rosemberg said that his organization has found it “incredibly important to respond when every single one of these incidents occurs.”

Late last year the FBI reported that overall, hate crimes increased by 17 percent in 2017, with hate crimes against Jews rising by more than a third and accounting for 58% of all religion-based hate crimes. However, Rosemberg noted that the overall level of anti-Semitic sentiment has remained mostly flat, hovering between 12% and 15% for years. timesofisrael

Winter Storms Continue In Israel; Mudslide Damages Nazareth Home; Evacuations in the Golan

YWN B’chasdei Hashem, after the Shabbos rainfall, Kinneret officials report an increase of 15 centimeters (5.9 inches) in the past week.

Since the beginning of this winter season, the increase has been 2.57 meters (8.43 feet). This year was indeed critical, as Water Authority officials warned if the Kinneret does not gain considerably, it will reach the point of no return and the fresh water may become salinated, rendering it non usable as a source of potable water forever. The Kinneret, whose level has continued to rise since the onset of the winter, received 30 millimeters of rainfall, while Ma’alot received more than 90.

ArutzSheva Reports:
The Kinneret's (Sea of Galilee) water level rose 11 centimeters in a single day, and 15.5 centimeters since Friday. Currently, the Kinneret stands at 211.96 meters below sea level, 1.04 meters above the lower red line, and 3.16 meters below the upper red line signaling that the lake is full.

NYC Mayor in Brouhaha with Jewish Councilman

Apologise for the Truth?

NYC Mayor Bill De Blasio demands apology for 'there is no Palestine’ statement made by one of his council members: "There is no state by that name; there is no place by that name. That’s a fact. I did not make it up," says New York City councilman.

Observant Jewish New York City Councilman Kalman Yeger became the subject of controversy last week when he denied the existence of Palestine and called congresswoman Ilhan Omar an antisemite. Palestinian activist Linda Sarsour then attacked Yeger by calling his statement "this kind of hate" and "bigoted."

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio joined in the fray on Friday by giving Yeger an ultimatum to apologize or be removed from the City Council committee on immigrant issues.

“If you’re asking my personal opinion, yeah, I think someone who has the ability to say that about Palestinian people by definition should not be on the Immigration Committee,” the mayor said on WNYC radio, according to the New York Post. arutzsheva

Mr DeBlasio: YOU SHOULD SAY THE SAME TO ILHAN OMAR FOR HER NASTY ANTI-SEMITIC HATE WORDS ABOUT JEWS AND ISRAEL

Mr DeBlasio: Why is it that you do not know that Jordan is full of so-called Palestinians; that the so-called Palestinians in Israel (that includes those living in Gaza) are ‘originally’ pre-‘48 plain Arabs from Egypt, Syria, and other Arab Lands in the Middle East. The so-called Palestinians already have a home, one which they came from and replaced themselves in Eretz Yisrael, the Jewish Biblical Homeland.

Your Councilman is very correct in what he said, there is no people called Palestinians, there is no state, government or flag of Palestinians. There never was in all of history.

The so-called Palestinians ONLY and I repeat ONLY, want to displace the Jews living in their Homeland. It would serve you well to learn about the history of the Middle East and its Arab peoples.

Rabbis demand Sarsour apologize for 'anti-Semitic narrative'

The Coalition for Jewish Values, representing over 1000 traditional rabbis in matters of public policy, is demanding a public apology from activist Linda Sarsour for "peddling in anti-Semitic falsehoods" in order to attack an observant Jewish New York City Councilman, Kalman Yeger.

Yeger observed on Twitter that "Palestine does not exist" while condemning the anti-Semitic statements of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. Sarsour responded by calling his statement "this kind of hate" and "bigoted," and demanding that Yeger "apologize publicly to Palestinian New Yorkers.”

"There has never been a country called Palestine," said Rabbi Steven Pruzansky, Eastern Regional Vice President of the CJV. "Jews have been connected to the land of Israel continuously for 37 centuries. Find a 'Palestinian' writer from the 6th, 16th or 19th Century, and you will find a Jew. In 1948, the Palestine Post became the Jerusalem Post. 'Palestinian Arabs' are a late 20th-century creation, concocted for the sole purpose of thwarting the national state of the Jewish people."

Rabbi Dov Fischer, Rabbi Pruzansky's Western Regional counterpart, added that "when Ahmed Shukairy launched the PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization -ed.) in 1964, the 'Palestine' he sought to 'liberate' was Tel Aviv and Haifa. It was a ploy -- they used the name Palestine because it was too ridiculous to call for the 'liberation' of Judea from Jews."

The CJV further noted that although what was called "Palestine" under the British Mandate includes all of modern-day Jordan, the "Palestine" described by the Palestinian Authority, left-wing groups and terror organizations traces only the borders of Israel's portion. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas described Jordanian and Palestinian Arabs as "one people living in two states" during a speech in 2015, expressly refuting the notion of a "Palestinian" people separate from Jordanians. Jordan is four times the size of Israel, with a population only 10% larger.

"The name Palestine was coined by Greek and Roman colonialists anxious to disenfranchise the natives," Rabbi Yaakov Menken, Managing Director of the CJV, observed, "and that has been its meaning and intent ever since. It is no coincidence that this came up during a discussion of the classic anti-Semitic falsehoods expressed by Rep. Ilhan Omar."

"Israel absorbed the vast majority of the 99% of Jews ethnically cleansed from the Arab world since 1948, while 'Palestinians' have been horribly mistreated by their Arab brethren, kept in camps and as second-class citizens as a weapon against Israel, instead of being permitted to resettle. Achieving peace requires we address the reality -- and to claim that Arabs have a 'right' to take more land from the Jews of Israel inverts reality, in a classically anti-Semitic fashion."

'Incomprehensible disgrace'
Jericho Arabs loot ancient tombs and desecrate graves
In Jericho area, Second Temple era burial tomb discovered exposed with graves looted and human remains scattered throughout area.

The ancient burial caves on the outskirts of Jericho date back to the Second Temple era, and are apparently part of the extensive burial grounds of the Hasmonean palace uncovered at the site. The cave was recently exposed in the course of landscaping work carried out by local Arab farmers, who bulldozed the site to prepare the ground for agricultural work.

Professor Rachel Hachlili of Haifa University's Zinman Institute of Archaeology, who studied this region, identified these caves as the largest Second Temple-era burial ground in Israel.

Hikers visiting the site over the weekend were appalled by what they found: Human remains strewn everywhere on freshly-tilled ground, catacombs thoroughly ransacked and looted, and sarcophagi (burial caskets) that had been resting in the caves for over 2,500 years had disappeared.

Antiquities theft and destruction of archaeological treasures is rampant – in fact, it has become nearly commonplace - throughout Judea and Samaria. In this case, ancient catacombs were wiped out by illegal quarrying despite the constant stream of alerts, warnings, and documentation the Regavim movement sent to the Regional Commander for Antiquities in the Civil Administration, the body responsible for law enforcement in the area.

Regavim Operations Director Yakhin Zik said: "The loss of our archaeological record and the ongoing failure to protect and preserve our heritage is an incomprehensible disgrace. The government must approve additional manpower and create standards that will ensure the preservation of antiquities and the severe punishment of looters."

Moshe Gutman, of the "Preserving the Eternal" initiative, adds: "The time has come for those who make declarations about their commitment to our national legacy to open their eyes to the ISIS-style destruction that's happening all around us. I call upon the Prime Minister to take responsibility. It's inconceivable that a civilized country tolerates the plunder and devastation of word cultural heritage sites.”

US Democrat Member of Congress Telephones Somali FM after Somali Amb Abstains from UNHRC Vote Against Israel on the Golan

(guess who)

Envoy recalled, official fired as Somalia uniquely abstains on anti-Israel vote [on the Golan]

Almost unnoticed, Arab League state made history in Geneva 10 days ago by choosing not to vote against Israel at major global forum. No explanation was given; now heads are rolling

On March 22, Somalia abstained on a UN Human Rights Council vote condemning Israel. Though it passed mostly unnoticed, the Muslim nation’s abstention on a resolution about Israel’s occupation of the Golan Heights made history: It is believed to have been the first time a member state of the Arab League missed an opportunity to condemn the Jewish state in a major international forum.

Somalia’s unprecedented abstention on draft resolution A/HRC/40/L.4, entitled “Human rights in the occupied Syrian Golan,” was clearly an anomaly, because Mogadishu on the same day voted in favor of three other anti-Israel resolutions, and later reiterated its rejection of Israeli claims over the strategic high plateau.

But the move brought into the open an ongoing debate that has been playing out in the East African country over the question of potential future ties with the Jewish state.

Further highlighting what had been a secret tug of war within the government, a senior Somali diplomat who has publicly called for warming relations with Jerusalem was fired on Sunday. Unfazed, this official, Abdullahi Dool, told The Times of Israel on Monday that he still strongly favors Somalia-Israel ties.

Somalia, which has been a member of the Arab League since 1974, has never had formal relations with Israel.

The Israellycool blog cited an “anonymous foreign government source” as saying that Somali Foreign Minister Ahmed Isse Awad recalled his ambassador “only after receiving a call from [US] congresswoman Ilhan Omar.”
  • These countries that opposed the vote were: Australia, Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Slovakia, Togo, Spain, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
  • The five countries that abstained were: Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Fiji, Rwanda and Somalia.
  • Bahrain told the council it had voted to support the resolution by mistake and wanted the record to reflect the fact that it had abstained.
  • Besides Bahrain saying it had meant to abstain(!), notice how Somalia actually abstained.
IS THIS INTERFERENCE OF AN US ELECTED CONGRESS MEMBER IN THE ELECTIONS OF A FOREIGN BODY? [Now that couldn't possibly be a case of 'dual loyalty' could it? Nah - that would imply that she actually has any loyalty to America and that has been proven to be false]

On Friday, Dool, who has served in Somalia’s foreign service since 1983, took to Twitter to call for the establishment of diplomatic ties between Mogadishu and Jerusalem. “It is long overdue. Establishing diplomatic relations does not harm anyone but promote peace and cooperation,” he wrote.

“The Palestinians are their worst enemies,” he wrote in a second tweet. “They never miss an opportunity to miss a chance. They are idiots and losers in Gaza. They should be condemned each time they attack civilians. It is in our interest to welcome Israel.”

Dool has since deleted the tweets, saying he was expressing his personal opinion only. But that didn’t prevent his bosses from firing him on Sunday, a move that was lauded by “Somalis at home and abroad,” according to Mogadishu-based Radio Dalsan. “Over 80% of those who reacted on the station’s twitter handle said the government had done the right thing,” according to a report on its website.

Apparently undeterred, Dool on Monday morning reaffirmed his position vis-a-vis the Jewish state in an email to The Times of Israel. timesofisrael

UPDATE: JUDGE RULING on A Police State . . . in Rockland County?

UPDATE: A judge has issued a preliminary injunction against Rockland County’s emergency order banning children from public places unless they’ve been vaccinated against measles.
Callous Stigmatization of Healthy Unvaccinated Children

An ominous turn toward a police state has taken root in Rockland County, New York. The County’s Executive Ed Day, a retired Bronx detective, declared a “state of emergency” and, in essence, ordered house arrest for all children under age 18 who have not been vaccinated with the MMR (measles, mumps, pertussis i.e., whooping cough) vaccine.

What are the criteria for declaring a state of emergency?

In Rockland County there have been a total of 153 cases of measles since October 2018; 149 have recovered, without lasting ill effects. According to the CDC during the same period, there were 314 measles cases in the U.S.
“On Tuesday, in an extraordinary step, the county executive, Ed Day, declared a state of emergency, effective at midnight, that would bar children and teenagers who are not vaccinated against measles from public places. Mr. Day said he believed Rockland County’s order was the first of its kind in the United States, and several public health experts said that they could not recall any action like it in recent years.” (TheNewYorkTimes:) I have never heard of such a thing ever.
The order took effect at midnight on Wednesday March 26th. Parents whose unvaccinated children are seen in public places – which include schools, shopping malls, public transportation, houses of worship, and other indoor spaces in violation of this order will be subject to 6 months in jail, and or $500 fine.

CDC reports that the MMR vaccination rate in Rockland County is 82.6%. The majority of children whose parents exercise their legal right to religious exemptions from vaccination attend private schools, mostly Hassidic Jewish schools. The rational for the measure to contain the spread of an infectious disease is to quarantine those who are infected and those who have been in close contact with someone who was infected –not to use the opportunity to penalize every child who is not vaccinated.

The target population for this draconian move is children who have religious exemptions from vaccine mandates. Rockland County has a large Hasidic Jewish population where religious exemptions from vaccination are common. The majority of measles cases in Rockland county have been in the Hasidic community, imported by travelers

[. . .] The excuse for the extraordinary, punitive directive by the County Executive, one that isolates and stigmatizes uninfected, healthy children as pariahs who are now barred from All public social interactions – after having been deprived of an education for over two months –is that there are currently 4 cases of measles in Rockland county – none of who were infected by any of these children.
Let’s be clear; “measly measles” is not a life-threatening disease in Western developed countries. During the last twenty years there have been only 3 deaths in the entire United States linked to measles. By contrast, infections due to Clostridium difficile (C difficile), most a result of an exposure to infections acquired at a hospital, or other medical facility, and excessive antibiotics result in more than 29,000 deaths each year according to CDC data. The frenzy about measles is not prompted by a genuine concern for children’s health or well being. It is fomented by a financial concern about the uptake of vaccines.
“If we have a situation where it comes to our attention that a parent is willingly, knowingly, not allowing a child to be vaccinated, under the emergency order, it will be referred into the district attorney. Our inspectors have begun to meet increasing resistance from those they are trying to protect. Our health inspectors have been hung up upon or told not to call again. They’ve been told “we’re not discussing this – do not come back,” when visiting the homes of infected individuals as part of their investigations.”

Hasidic school children in NYS:
"Ed Day" has been at the center of controversy; in particular about allegations of antisemitism.

In 2015, The New York Post reported that:

“Ed Day makes the Jewish community feel very uncomfortable — he [it] encourages anti-Semitism,” blasted Rabbi Ronnie Greenwald, president of the Jewish Community of Rockland County, made up of about 100 synagogues.”

In 2016, Sreeramulu Nagubandi (an Asian American), who had served as Rockland County’s Commissioner of Human Rights for 16 years, sued and accused him of antisemitism and attempting to “limit the growth of orthodox Jews in Rockland. The explosive charge accused Day of instructing Nagubandi to make daily living as hard as possible for Orthodox Jews in Monsey and Spring Valley.

Nagubandi’s affidavit filed with the court May 5, 2016, stated: “I have personally heard from the County Executive regarding providing any funding to the Town of Ramapo in my capacity as the Director that I should be careful not to give too much money as that would only allow for the Jewish Religious Community to ‘continue growing.” (NYPost)

ME: AND NOW WE HAVE CORROBORATING INFORMATION SUPPORTING WHAT I INTIMATED IN      No, this is not Nazi Germany, but we’re getting ever closer… For those who may not know the history, in Nazi Germany disabled children were forcibly turned into wards of the state; they were the first victims of medicalized murder while their parents were deceived about the “special treatment” they would receive.

ME: AND HERE WE HAVE THE RELIGIOUS LINKING TO ISRAEL: Most of the measles outbreaks in Rockland County have occurred in Jewish communities, where travelers from Israel have allegedly been infected with the measles there. [which means that the vaccines imported to Israel are the same as administered in religious communities in the US]

Measles Outbreak in Jewish Religious Community

Rabbi Mordechai Shain isn’t sure about Vaccines.
timesofisrael and JTA (*see commentary below)

Almost all of the 400 kids in the school he runs, from infants to eighth-grade teens, are vaccinated. About eight or 10 are not. But he’s skeptical that immunization works at all

"My doctor in shul says everyone should take a flu shot, so a lot of people went,” said Shain, the head of school at the Tenafly Chabad Academy in Northern New Jersey, about 13 miles from Manhattan. “Ninety percent that took a flu shot got [the] flu and the 10% didn’t get the flu. I speak to so many doctors and they’re saying just the opposite, that vaccines are good, but they put in the vaccine different methods that give you more danger than the vaccine is saving you from.”

Later he added, *“In the vaccine there are things there that are putting you at higher risk.”

(According to the Centers for Disease Control, flu vaccinations reduce the risk of contracting the illness by 40 to 60 percent.) [This is a baldface Lie. TRUE Statistics (not skewered) statistics indicate the opposite. The **history of vaccines shows that the vaccine industry was invented at a point in time when infectious diseases were at the lowest levels, mainly because of “natural” (G-d created) immunization within the human chemistry and due to great improvements in personal and social cleanliness.]

Shain’s school, located in the Jewish population center of suburban Bergen County, is the only one among about a dozen Orthodox schools there that still accepts unvaccinated kids, according to L’via Weisinger, a school nurse who runs a group of nurses at Bergen Jewish schools.

The vaccine issue has become especially urgent as measles has spread in nearby Haredi communities with low vaccination rates.

On Tuesday, Rockland County in New York, which borders Bergen County, barred unvaccinated minors from public places. The county has had 153 confirmed cases of measles since October.

Despite institutional pressure, a strain of opposition to vaccines has persisted in Haredi communities claiming that vaccines are ineffective at best and harmful at worst. A pamphlet circulating among Orthodox communities, published by an Orthodox anti-vaccine group calling itself Parents Educating and Advocating for Children’s Health, falsely claims that doctors obscure evidence that vaccines are harmful, and links vaccines to brain swelling, paralysis and death.

In reality, lasting negative effects from vaccines are extremely rare.

The group also hosts regular conference calls featuring anti-vaccine doctors, according to the Gothamist news site.

“[S]ome of what we are told about vaccines is simply untrue,” the pamphlet’s introduction reads. “From our research (and, for some of us, from personal experience) many more than ‘one in a million’ lives have been ruined by vaccines. We don’t want any more people to be hurt needlessly.”

Weisinger, a former board member of the Orthodox Jewish Nurses Association, said the anti-vaccination movement has taken hold among some Haredi Jews due to lack of education and distrust of authority.

“There’s a lack of trust in the government that goes way back,” she said. “You have others who really care about their kids who are not educated. They’re not out in the real world hearing real science. They’re not taught to discern between conspiracy theories and real science.”

In late February, Bergen County saw one case of measles, which is highly contagious and can stay in the air for hours after an infected person coughs.

“We say our community is pro-vaccine, but then we let an anti-vaxxer into our school and they have measles and our immuno-compromised kids get exposed and our pregnant women get exposed,” Weisinger said. “Those people are all susceptible to people from Rockland County coming into our community.”

Jewish institutions in the county have urged their members to get vaccinated.

COMMENTARY:

[The CDC is being “influenced”  and ”THE MEASLES EPIDEMIC” is manufactured to nicely dovetail with (antiSemitic) accusations of “neglect”, “fear”, and ”unsanitary” conditions.]

[Couple the LIVE MEASLES STRAIN with the other volatile ingredients and Wallah! you have a noxious cocktail to inflict.]

[WHY IS THIS “OUTBREAK” SO OFTEN CENTERED IN RELIGIOUS AND JEWISH AND ISRAELI SOURCES? Think for a minute. Was any historical outbreak so hysterically centered on religious Jews? Even some Jewish doctors still cling to the old canard that measles is deadly, when having it is the most (G–d created) natural means of immunizing children.]

[The Nazis were most involved with scientific and chemical experiments. These Nazi scientists were saved and brought to The US to "Help” US scientists and NASA endeavors.]

[Are we witnessing clandestine efforts against US Jews again? Who is orchestrated this? What are their objectives? One must take Dr Shain’s cautions seriously. Watch, to see if he is attacked and smeared by other “religious” pro-vax doctors (who profit from big farmah) for each vaccine injection administered. When will real MDs take their “hippocratic oath” seriously and not hypocraticly.]

[One cannot spout the benefits of today’s vaccines when recent scientific research shouts the opposite!]

"… ten years of practice data clearly show that unvaccinated and partially vaccinated children have a dramatically lower risk of autism compared to children vaccinated according to the CDC schedule."

Real-Life Data Show that the CDC Vaccine Schedule is Causing Harm. “Real-world” findings
Up until the mid-2000s, Dr. Thomas administered vaccines in lockstep with the CDC schedule. However, when he witnessed previously healthy one-year-old patients regressing into severe autism for four years running, he started questioning this approach. After delving into published research never mentioned in medical school, Dr. Thomas developed the slower and more selective vaccine schedule described in his book. For the past ten years, his practice has put parents in the driver’s seat of making vaccine decisions, offering them a full discussion of vaccine benefits and risks—including the risks of neurotoxic vaccine ingredients such as aluminum—as well as providing detailed advice about how to support a well-balanced immune system. Dr. Thomas reports that while the majority of families in his practice vaccinate, “almost none of them follow the CDC schedule.”

The independent consultant identified a total of 3,344 pediatric patients born into the practice over the ten-year period, including 715 unvaccinated children and 2,629 partially vaccinated children. The medical records showed that the latter received about three to six times fewer vaccines (7 to 18 shots) than same-age children vaccinated according to the CDC schedule (25 to 40 shots). The Impact of Vaccines on Mortality Decline Since 1900—According to Published Science can be read here.

** History of Vaccines in Charts

Dr. Kass’ chart doesn’t even include the measles vaccine…what gives? Well, in 1970, the measles vaccine was just beginning to be rolled out, and as you can clearly see, measles had long since experienced a dramatic decline in mortality. With Pertussis (Whooping Cough), he produced a similar chart:

In this case, you can actually see when the Pertussis vaccine was introduced. He also showed a chart for Scarlett Fever, which furthers the confusion about the role of vaccines, because there’s never been a Scarlett Fever vaccine, and yet the chart of a huge decline in mortality from Scarlett Fever looks very similar to measles and pertussis:
